XBox should most definently work. Just swap the O button with... whatever one it is for xbox. Its frustrating at times (i personally have not beat it, kept losing at level 7 and gave up... for now). When you die, you have the option of exiting the mode, or re-playing the level again (which is nice). There most definently could be more secrets... but if we knew, we'd mention it. This just brings up hope that there could possibly be more tucked away things (in not just Shaolin Monks, but possibly Deception, or even Deadly Alliance).

I might as well add to the glitch fest... level 6 (the living forest one... if thats #6)... I killed a shadow-whatever guy, but the body of him stayed above ground, and didn't vanish. I could easily walk through him, but his figure was still there above the ground doing nothing. The problem with this was when I finished off everyone... the portal/green thing didn't appear... probably because the game still thought I had one more guy left... even tho it was impossible for me to get rid of it.

So I had to kill myself by that little fire... so I could start over on that level.

hey this kicked ass, i knew there was more to this game than what we had seen, ive finished this and im currently at 117.3% has anyone got higher????? coz if so what am i missing?

where is the lava room im reely confused
and wich place with two barrels

Lava room isin the hallway at the level's beginning, to the left of the entrance to the Foundry area where barrels move across the ceiling. You have to throw an enemy into the wall to get it to open.

There are two places with two barrels. One is on the second floor of the first room, above the hallway (where you find Kama blades). The second is to the left of the ramp leading up to this floor.

Anyway, while fun, this mode does indeed feel unfinished somewhat. I'm surprised Kitana, Mileena, and Jade are not present. Neither is Kahn.

Once its activated do u need to keep doin it or does it stay there... the green swirls thing!

"Kitana, Mileena, Jade, and 4 Masked Guards"

Or

"Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung"

Or even

"Mileena and Baraka"

We just decided to have a look aroud and there you go. No you can't just hit the floor or tho there are other combonations of hitting the barrels. You need to activate it each time

Still, it seems very wierd that you found this. How did you think to use the axe again, jumping in lava, only pressing O, hitting random barrels, and then smashing the ground? Why were you looking in the Foundry anyway?

Mine freezes too at the level 3 to 4 jump. But, in level 2 and three for me, large sectiions of the background are missing. When i forst got to level 2, i thought it was noob saibot's level because the floor and wallls were all black, except for the parts where you grab the kammas (i think that is the word) and sword. SO, to all those who had it crash, were there major chunks missing from stages 2 and three? The same question for those who could beat it.

Why NOT look in the foundry? Why NOT press only O? Why NOT only jump in lava? Why NOT use axe again? Why NOT hit random barrels? Why NOT smash the ground? LOL sorry had to. How do other people find secrets? By trying to and by using there eyes.

i screwed up the order of smashing the barrels and i still got it. Maybe you just hit the ground, i'm gonna try that,

Anyways, I've got a question. Is there any kind of trick or strategy to beating level 7 (the one with Kano and the Mercs) with Scorpion or Sub Zero. I can not beat that level if my life depended on it when I use those two. I've tried at least 20 times and only came close twice. Does anyone have any advice or strategy they can give me to help me out? Thanks in advance.

Nope not realy. You just need to block alot. Yeah the order of which you break them can be different. I will look into it further later on

ok it seems that tho MK:SM US version is region free and works fine on a PAL X-Box without a chip / import player, when u get to level 4 it crashes. No idea why. I will try running it in NTSC mode next, see if that gets around it.

Hey sektor_rulz my question is how did you even know there was a survival mode to look for. I mean you make it seem like you knew about it but how did you know about it?

Anyways to that other guy that wanted help with the Kano battle run around and let Kano take care of some Black Dragon. Whenever you got any Black Dragon isolated block and counter his attacks with a good combo. Take care of the black dragon members first before tackling Kano.

Also this brought my game from 111% to 118.5% thats 7 more to my percentage. I gotta try this with Sub-Zero which is on 112% right now.

Because DArqueBishop made a thread about it straight after an interview with Ed Boon. It seemed a bit suspicious that he would make a thread about a mode no one knew about straight after so me and a friend investigated. I knew it was there just a matter of searching. I'm not answering how I found it again! Lol

Very true. Tsung wasn't here either. You know, they did say that they had all these plans to make it so you could jump inside that last tree in the Living Forest, fight Noob Saibot, etc. - I think this is the very last thing that they were working on before they had to ship, and they just decided to stop while they had something. Otherwise, I'm sure we would have seen at least eleven more fights - Johnny Cage & Jax were also not present, and could have easily been.

Almost the exact thing happened to me. But kintaro grabbed goro, goro started floating because apparently he doesn't have an animation for that, then it said "please insert controller into port 1 and press X" Wierd.. I could have beaten them too, I worked hard to get that far. The Kano battle was hard.

another thing to point out to Sektor_rulz... if you do plan on finding an easier/quicker/whatever of figuring out the secret. I did everything to do, except for the last barrel. I was gonna hit it, but missed... hit the ground... and the portal activated.

This does seem like a pretty random secret. But well-hidden enough. This explains the portal on the map that we could never get too (now we can).

I too had troubles with Level 7, Kano. Played as Scorpion tho... hope it won't be so tough with Liu or Kung.

Had troubles? What kind of troubles? I will investigate with Goroliath tomorrow
