If a fighter dies in a death trap there shouldnt be a second round... OR The death traps should only be open on second and third rounds!
I hope this thing gets fixed in the following 5 months!

Im sure the computer doesnt like you having unlimited continues everytime it kills you, but it doesnt waste its time complaining on a message board.
If you want reality, go jump off a bridge... then you wont have to worry about a round 2.

the same thing is true in Virtua Fighter, you can have a ring out(in one of them you fall from a mountain) and the match continue after it it happen in the first round.
Who cares it's just a game

I'm sure when MKD comes out, it will have an option of turning death traps on or off.

man, your not even making sense... its not just a game? shoot me in the head... yeah, o.k.
any way, if it bothers u that much, then after u knock em into a deathtrap, press start, and go to character select to start a new match.
simple as that.
or who knows, seeing how the game is 5 months away, and i think we can all assume the game isnt complete, that maybe they will make minor little changes.
I agree it seems odd that someone can get smashed up and continue the match, but its just a game, in the grand scheme of things, who cares if u gotta go one or even two more rounds... your playing the game to play it... if its such a chore for u to have to play another whole round, maybe u shouldnt.

umm.. why not set the settings to 1 round.. the end... there we go... but really you want a simulation... omg.. a fighting sim? omg... hmm.. might work if it was.. um... based on the karate/judo on the olympics.. and you have a story of creating your own char.. and you can make him a champ.. learn a new style. and go back.. and it will be online.. which makes you learn more moves since you can steel them from your opponets..

im glad that u agree with me that it 'seems odd'...
'I know its a game' but it should be more like realistic shouldnt it? im not saying if they die you shouldnt be able to select them in the game ever again, am i? lol
it makes more sense to have the deathtraps available for second and third rounds, that way the player wont always have the chance to kick the oponent into the deathtraps all the time and will make the deathtraps more special...

My bad, my first post felt a bit harsh after I read it. Ne way, I dont think we should dwell on this topic. I think it would be better if the actaul gameplay was analyzed. Anyway, it may seem weird, but Im sure ppl will get used to it. Sidez, they are more entertaining that normal ring outs.

yeah, coming back alive is odd, but it aint on the top of my list of things to change.
I really really hate the fact that the stage weapons are bigger than a car, and that still there is no body damage or ripping of clothes...
if a weapon is so powerful that u need to make it larger than a Honda Civic to show its strength, then when I hit someone in the shoulder with it, something better break.
Any way, there are other things i'd like to see them do to improve the "reality" of the game first.

Yeh the fact that theres still no body cuts, damage and clothes getting ripped is really annoying too.. it was promised way back for MKDA... (Only the faces got damaged)
taofeng could even do it, why cant MK Deception?

Tao Feng did it cuz for the full year of production, thats all they concentrated on.
u dont see a Tao Feng II comin out, do u?
*please tell me they arnt makin a II*

The death traps are two things:
1) A quick way to win a round.
2) A cool visual.
They're not Fatalities, they're just one more little quirk in a series full of them. Take 'em for what they are and if you don't like them I'm sure you'll be able to turn them off.

He makes a good point. Tao Feng, imo, blew hard.
Anyways, You know you'll buy the game no matter what they do with the death traps when the game is released. Isn't that right, HOTARU?

fucc... ima buy this game, and I got a modded Xbox. Thats how much I love MK. They could go back to stick figures and I'd still buy it.
*Note to Boon: Dont go to stickfigures*
*Note to Mods: Dont ban me cuz i said I got a modded Xbox*

in soul calibur 2...when you knock a fighter off the top of a mountain or black abyss below and egyptian ledge...youre telling me that isnt death? how could a fighter survive a fall like that? but then next round starts with both fighters back. in bloody roar on gc...when you knock a fighter onto the highway and they get killed by a car...next round they are back. when you knock em off a 10-story building in round 1...round 2 there are back. this is nothing new. change your pampers and get your mom's permission before you post again.

This issue has been addressed before, and this is what I had to say:
Id just like to add, it seems to me that alot of people have come to the conclusion that death traps will occur in every fight, just because we have seen them occur in almost every fight. But obviously this isn't the case, if you're stupid enough to let yourself stand before a death trap and let the enemy beat you into it, you only have yourself to blame. Not only that, it looks like it will take a fair amount of movement and beating to get someone inbetween you and a death trap, not to mention navigation through multi-layered levels. I think you'll find that Death traps will be a be a rare commodity once we get our hands on the game..
Also this is what Kel-X had to say:
"I was at E3 and I spent extensive time with Deception. I talked to a few members of the development team that was there. One guy in particular, I don't remember his name, but he was asking me questions and looking for what the fans wanted. I told him I loved the game and every thing was shaping up nicely. I did however express my concern about the ring out system. How your opponent dies, then comes back the next round. From what he told me, it is my understanding there will be 3 options in the options menu: Death traps - On (Ends round), On (Ends match) and off."
Happy?

Man I feel like a little kid I get to jump back and forth from one thread to the other defending MKD. Talk about pissed off. If you guys don't like it don't play it. Or turn it off if you can. Tell you the truth it was not that easy to pull off a stage death trap. When I was playing people that did not play that well, I could put them in the death trap at will. When I played my friends they avoided it like vampires do holy water. If you don't like the Idea of returning the next round, You are one of two players. One a player that wants total real life fighting. Or you don't like the idea of fighting then being killed just to pop back up for round two. Just pretend that when you or your enemy went into the death trap it was just a dream. Then you will be able to sleep better. And all this talk about body damage it was brought up in a couple of my questions I asked at E3. As far as I can tell it would be a long painstaking pain in the arse, to include body damage. Not to mention this game is pushing the systems to there limits. We have got so much of what we asked for. Give them an inch Boon and the will take a mile. Bash this game all you want complain as much as possiable. In the end I will see you at the store buying the game. Nuff said

I bet you won't be complaining when the computer kicks you into a death trap and you get another chance. It's a funny concept!

This is more about the OPTION to change it to end the fight completely after the Death Trap, because obviously NOT everyone likes it to just end the round.
Personally, I would LOVE the increased tension that TRUE Death Traps would bring.
To the people that like the way it is:
* Would you be saying the same thing if you could perform a Fatality after every round? For some reason I doubt it.
Anyway, according to Kel-X, it IS looking like BOTH options will be in the final version, so everyone will be happy.

I'll complain all damn day. I don't want to come back the next round. I have practically infinite continues anyway.

Soul Calibur II had some of the biggest flaws in a fighting game. The wall system was pretty shitty, and their gravitational drop was incredibly fast. Why people try to say its the best is beyond me. Bloody Roar characters can turn into huge monsters, so I'm not too surprised if they would survive being struck with car. However! Mortal Kombat was founded on the basis of DEATH, those games are NOT. That's what makes it different from every other fighting game.
If you're going to compare Mortal Kombat which is not even in the same GENRE of fighting as say Tekken or Virtua Fighter, then you might as well compare a mircowave to a toaster. You want toast, but which are you gonna choose? Apparently YOU want the microwave.
