Not all nintendo ones are confirmed free to download either. I foresee them making a large amount free to begin with to attract attention, then BAM, any new releases have a price, and you regret your purchase...
... Unless the revolution actually turns out any good.

Well even if Nintendo does start charging to download games, they already said that the online service will be free to play games on. So that has to count for something.

I agree that is a good point about the revolution and one that is a good plus for it, but many if not all will be buying one for the backwards compatablity, with some not knowing that there are some conditions to it.

What launch games does everyone think will truely showcase what the next-gen systems are capable of? Personally I think the games that will highlight, and showcase the real power of the next gen systems are:
Project Gotham Racing 3
Gears of War
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon3: Advanced Warfighter
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Project Gotham Racing 3
Gears of War
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon3: Advanced Warfighter
Need for Speed: Most Wanted

I think that Killzone, Warhawk, Gran Turismo (if its launch, im not sure) are gonna show off the PS3's potential, although Killzone will likely push the graphics, atmosphere, etc. but turn out a bore to play.

I'm prity sure that Gran turismo isn't a launch title they didn't have a next gen game engine for it, at E3 they were using the PS2 GT4 engine and effects the only difference was the number of cars on the track and the number of people in the pits the car models and the backgrounds were the same there would be to much to do for the PS3 launch if it is next year.
As for killzone being a bore to play no one knows yet and you could say the same about any of the games being shown for both PS3 and Xbox360 untill the actual games are played they could have the best Graphics and audio in the world but play like crap we will just have to wait.

I agree with Gears Of War for Xbox360. Not sure about PS3 yet. Not enough games to see yet but I would assume Kill-Zone 2. And yeah NFS:MW should be a good game and show off some power along with a game called Full Auto. Also imo, I think Ride Racer 6 for XBox360 will be better than PGR3.

Yeah Full Auto does look awsome. I'ts like Burnout + Twisted Metal with the rewind feature thats in Prince of Persia. Kill Zone 2 looks awsome. I never played the first one, but heard that the context sensitive button kind of killed it as being a Holo killer because you didn't have a jump button. Hopefully it's corrected in the Kill Zone2. I was really blown away by Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter though. If you haven't done yet, I'd suggest checking out the trailers for it over at Gamespot. Graphically I think it's one of the best games I've ever seen, on either a console, or PC. Also considering that it's being developed for multiple system, including the original Xbox. I think it's even more impressive to see just how good the Xbox 360 version looks. MotorStorm for the PS3 also looks really impressive for a racing game.

Xbox 360 is to launch first in the U.S on November 21, followed by Europe on 2 December then Japan December 10, for those that are wanting one you now have a date to save your cash by.
For 1, its actually Killzone 3, a Killzone 2 for PS2 is almost a certainty (not officially anounced, but speculated, and hinted at, to the point of stupidity)
I actually liked the context sensitive button. One of the greatest features of Killzone was supposed to be the feel. You felt like you were lunging a grenade when you did so, the camera moved and you appeared to pivot. You reloaded realistically, rather than like a super intelligent war machine. Everything felt right... except the atmostphere. There was no war. You were in a deserted battlefield, with just you and a few enemies. Everything felt right except the absense of tanks, aircraft, background battlenoises, and explosions in the distance. It felt too deserted. Another issue was the linear gameplay, you ran down tunnels most the time, or were restricted to a set track.

Dam you beat me to it. Actually Gamespot's article states it's Nov 22, not the 21, but thats besides the point. Also in addition it was announced that the Japenese market will only have 1 package to chose from rather than the 2 Core, & premium packages the US has. There are essentially getting the Premium package but without the headset included for the equivilant of $343.20. It is not that bad. Persaonlly I think it's a pretty good option, because I really don't like the Xbox 360 headset, and most games who are going to be buying an Xbox 360 have an original Xbox w/ an xbox Live headset which looks a lot better IMO, and will still work with the Xbox 360. It would have been a nice way for Microsoft to keep the price down a bit. Even if it's only by about $50.

Pretty pointless. PAL get it 10 days after NTSC, and NTSC-J get it 8 days after PAL. Wouldn't of been too much hassle to release them at the same time, really.

I understand what your saying, but Bach said a few days ago that the reason why they're not shipping in world wide on the same day is to help them track sales figures, and aloit system quantities better.

Full write up with more pics at IGN.
The unit is held in one hand. It interacts with included motion sensors (which are placed on the left and right sides of televisions)

I've really got one question for everyone in here!
WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WAS NINTENDO SMOKING?
I mean, come on! Nintendo's made better controllers than THAT before!

It looks like a TV remote, that is what they were going for it's ment to be eaiser to use than any other controller and ment to attract those that find gaming off puting due to the controllers that previous Nintendo consoles and other consoles use ie not being easy to use, who did they ask when they came up with that ?. I have to say i wouldn't of guessed that this would be the revolutionary controller, and people thought the PS3 controller was weird.
This is....very strange indeed. Just got the pics today, as well as descriptions of the games that demo'd the controller. I'm a little worried Nintendo might be taking this "be different!" thing a bit too far, but I guess time will tell.

That's the worst thing Nintendo has ever done.
I personally think the Revolution controller is just as (if not more) creative than the DS and should be very fun to give a shot. As long as Nintendo comes out with an alterante design of course, because I dont know how many companies will be willing to take a chance with a console that may have difficulties with playing capability. Regardless, I think the First Party titles will show what this controllers all about. I cant wait to see how Mario128, Pilot Wings, Smash Brothers Melee Online, and next-gen Zelda plays. They need to make a new Punchout!! game for the Revoltuion. That game would own. Revolution and PS3 for me
. Here's a site with a bunch more information on how the Revolution controller works and all the games they tested out so far.

Yeah your right about being able to play Previous gen games but it's via downloads you cant put cartridges etc in it, so if you dont have internet acess you wont be able to play the games not only that it's only Nintendo games at present and only Nintendo ones will be free to download other developers have yet to offer their games for download and they wont be free either so it's not that good of a deal as everyone thinks it is.
