In an article over at Gamespot Sony, as well as some media outlets have been stating that the PS3 will be capable of runing games at 120fps. Given that tv's don't even support 120fps yet.
This is a complete waste IMO since the human eyes is incapable of distinguishing the difference between 61fps, and 300fps. Considering that so game makers are still incabable of getting games to run 100% smooth at 60fps as well. It's a complete waste to get game developers to jump up to double the frame rate when they are still incapable of getting gmaes to run smoothly as it is.

That article was a bunch of crap. More B.S. from Ken K. himself. But you're right about it being a waste. Just like dual HDMI outtputs is waste, 7 controllers is a waste, 2 Flops is a waste for gaming calculations, etc., etc. Just another way they can tell the general public that they are better than their competitors. If you research as well, even the NES could do 300 fps, but it looks like ass. Just like if games on PS3 were done 120 fps it would look like ass. Games on ps3 will be 30-60 fps and you can quote me on that.

It's not going to cross over to to the Xbox 360. You can retieve your Xbox Live account when you set p your Xbox 360 system to put it on your Xbox 360, but it won't cancel your service on the current Xbox. As for using the Silver Subscription, I don't think you get as much access as if you would with the current Xbox Live, or Xbox Live Gold. When you retieve your current Xbox Live account on the Xbox 360 it gives you an Xbox Live Gold Account. Xbox Live Gold gives you basically Xbox Live plus more functions like video confrenceing when the camera is released, be able to enter tournements, and it's going to be the only way to play regular mutlitplayer Xbox 360 games on on Live. With the Silver Subscription you only get regular access to MMO games like Final Fantasy XI, and Phantasy Star Online, and over at the Xboxlive.com under the Silver Subscription I pulled this quote about the free weekends I think your talking about "The Xbox Live Gold free trial weekends won't come oftenthat's what makes them special, but they will give you the taste you need of the best online multiplayer service available." There labeled as free trial weekends. It sounds like it's only going to happen once a month.
If I where you I wouldn't cancel my Xbox Live account just yet. Your going to loose your Live gamertag if you do. Plus your just going to have to create another one when you sign up for the Silver Subscription.

Man, Im so excited...but I didnt pre-order one. What Im gonna do, me and my bro are splitting the cost on the 400 dollar Xbox 360 (with the good harddrive and extra stuff). And he's going to go to Best Buy on Tuesday and try to get one (since you cant pre-order them there). So hopefulyl when I come home from school on Tuesday itll be in my room ready to play.
If he cant get one...well Im still gonna get games for Christmas (since I wont have to pay for them). Then Ill just try to find one sometime early next year. Because I mean, they will be hard to find..

Just about every store is getting 50 system or less. Including Best Buy stores. Unless your there when the store opens, it's going to be next to impossible to get a system on launch day.

Thats because the big game PDZ hasn't been reviewed yet. Anyway IGN's reviews tend to be a little lower than Gamespots. So expect PGR3 to get at least a 9, and PDZ will get in the 9+ as well. For the most part most of the reviews have been above average for launch titles, with the exception being GUN with looks terrible anyway.

WHOo! It was shipped today...thanks God.
As for the best game, PDZ will probably take it. People have been waiting along time for a Perfect Dark sequal, although in my book, COD2 will be the best.

I must ask you guys what kind of video connectors are you using to run your Xbox 360 (basically asking what kind of TV you playing it on).
Right now I have a TV that uses the composite cables (red, white, and yellow ones).
Im buying a component connector flat-screen TV tomorrow for 300 hundred so my 360 games will run at 480p or 720p whatever I set it to. I saw the article about the differences in how it looks and theres a HUGE difference from composite cables to component. My tv is just old..need an upgrade.
And I have Call of Duty 2 for the 360...but no 360 until January ;(
Im getting 3 360 games for Christmas though (COD2 is one).

Actually you need a tv that is HD to support 480p, 720p, and 1080i. I have a normal sony Wega TV that isn't HD, and it has compont cable support. But it won't run in HD. You need an HD tv or monitor to take advange, and run games in those formats. Using those types of cables on a normal tv will only give you better color display on your tv. It won't improve the resolution.

I dont think you're right about that...Im still sort of confused about this though
http://www.gamespot.com/features/6139690/p-2.html
That article from gamespot shows the differences in the image quality depending on the type of cable connection you use. For component it shows a pretty good quality image over the composite cables (what I use now). And it says nothing about NEEDING to have an HD tv for it to look like that.
This line from the article about component:
"Component video uses three wires to pass the video signal into the television display, and allows for higher resolutions like 480p, 720p, and 1080i. You can actually use old RCA cables in place of real component cables in a pinch, but keep the cable as short as possible to minimize the image degradation caused by an impedance mismatch. The full Xbox 360 system includes a complete set of component and composite video cables."
"We set the Xbox 360 to 720p and 480p to demonstrate the differences between the two. The result doesn't come as much of a surprise. If you've played PC games for even 10 minutes, you know that increasing the resolution is one of the best ways to make a game look better. Jumping from 480p (852x480) up to 720p (1280x720) gave us a huge increase in image quality. If you don't own an HDTV, do yourself a favor and get some kind of television or monitor that is capable of displaying 720p."
And the TV Im getting will display 480 P and 720 P because I can set my Xbox 360 to either and the TV is capable of it.

Ok I've realized you are right after asking some friends of mine and looking around.
Still, this newer TV will be larger and will offer me better picture quality. And now I can use the Monster cables my bro won last year (they are component, PERFECT!). These are 80 dollar cables !
Xbox 360 + Component Monster Cables + 27 inch TV = not a bad gig.

360 is tomorrow............

Ok, This is whacked! I was planning on going to wal-mart to get the Xbox360 at midnight, when today I called and they said tonight at 12:01 it goes on sale and you have to wait in line, so I asked, when it starts, they said "if I were you..I would come in in a few hours" like 5:00 pm to 12:00 am why can't Microsoft lust send out much more systems to each retail stores? instead of people killing eachother to get one, this is wrong, so if I don't go like now? I can't get a Xbox360 till 2006? what the heck are these console companies doing? well, Doa4 comes out 12 / 1 so I guess I'll get the game and then the system when I can. but still, it's such a let down that I saved up all this time and now that it's finally coming out I still have to wait.....amazing.

Ok, just clearing something up, someone please acknowledge this.
The best ways to play your Xbox are as follows (Worst to Best):
This is video cable connection btw...
RF
Composite (Red, White, and Yellow cables)
S-Video (step up from Composite, almost similar)
Component (Y - green, Pb - blue, and Pr- red cables) with no HDTV
Then component cables WITH HDTV
My setup is:
Panasonic 27 inch flat screen TV with component cable input (Im actually using Monster Cables so it looks INSANELY good, tested it out on my Xbox 1 games today).
Right now I own Perfect Dark Zero LE and Call of Duty 2, Im not getting them till Christmas though, but my dad already showed them to me. Im not even getting a 360 till sometime in January.
