hmmm, I'm a little bit worried that alot of ppl here may not know who Doomsday is. I know he played a big role during the death of Superman saga, but he's a little bit of an obscure villain isnt he?

I try to pick characters ppl can recognize quickly. If more users say they'd like to see that match...I'll put it up. Does a Darkseid vs Apocalypse match sound good?

Right....because in my long rants about Kitana, Sareena, and other female characters, all I ever talk about is how "hot" they are.

Are u being sarcastic? I read you're Kitana post. Isn't what first drew you to her was how "hot" she was? "The bathing suit," "The legs," etc.? LOL

Well obviously, the first thing I would notice about Kitana is how she looked. This was before the internet and I'm not psychic...so I didn't automatically know she played real good and had a good storyline.

Since you read my post, did you not notice that I went on to say what really made Kitana my favorite character was how she played and her storyline...and that the rest of my post was devoted largely to her storyline and gameplay?

QueenSindel(TheBitch) Wrote:

Coming from the person who bases their opinion on characters almost entirely on how they look before anything else....I find that comment very amusing.

Huh? I'm drawn to characters based on how strong they look, not how pretty. Unless they're males, then they can be hot, but I don't pervertedly make them my favs (Johhny Cage).

Exactly. I tell you all about Kitana's story and her character and all the things she's done in the story...you tell me it doesn't matter because she doesn't look fierce enough in some of her renders. And somehow in your mind that overrides everything else about her.

I could tell you a lot about Wonder Woman's character that make her interesting...but I guess none of that matters because of how she's drawn in some pictures.

So yeah...you're judging characters on how they look over everything else about them. Yet I'm the shallow one..?

QueenSindel(TheBitch) Wrote:
XiahouDun84 Wrote:
Not to mention your definition of what makes a character a "hoochie" is clearly short-sided and bias.

Uh, no it's not.

Uh, yes it is.
Characters like Kitana and Wonder Woman are just a "typical pretty hoochies" yet somehow Sindel doesn't count despite being dressed just as...if not more...skanky and slutty. Storm may be best known for her hideous looking white jumpsuit from the cartoon, but she's also had plenty of cheesecake outfits in her day.

Why is it okay for them, but not for others? And please don't give some bullshit like "because they have fierce eyes and powerful hair."

QueenSindel(TheBitch) Wrote:
Everyone knows WW looks like a hooch. Even the guy that invented her said he made her strong like a man but with the same "allure" as a woman.

He meant he wanted a character who was powerful and strong, yet was still feminine and not ultra masculine. He was seeking a balance.

QueenSindel(TheBitch) Wrote:
So evidently u like girls that look like pretty hoochies but have "character"?
Whatever. *rolls eyes* ....(perve)

...um, yeah. Ideally, I like characters to have interesting personalities AND look good. How does that make me a perve? What...I should only like ugly, but interesting characters OR pretty/cool looking yet shallow characters? I'm not allowed to want both?

And once again, why does the "hoochie" thing apply to them and no one else? Why are they being singled out? Almost all characters...female or male...are objectified. With few exceptions, most comic or video game characters are given unrealistic bodies and physiques and wear outfits that emphasize how "bad ass" or how "sexy" they are.

Now if Wonder Woman's costume was little more than a pair of band-aids and a G-string, I'd see where you're coming from...but why is she being singled out? Why can't she be a great, interesting, and powerful character who also happens to be "hot"? Why must she be one or the other?

And truth be told...compared to a lot of other female characters, Wonder Woman is actually one of the more decent looking ones.

QueenSindel(TheBitch) Wrote:
The difference is that Xia makes them his favorite characters. That's perverted, to focus mainly on sex.

And once again....how or where have I implied I focus mainly on sex? Again, re-read my Kitana post and you'll note I pointed out what made her my favorite was her STORYLINE. I didn't just look at Kitana and decide then and there she was my favorite character. I tried her out...I played as her...I got into her storyline...THEN she became my favorite.

See, how a character looks is usually the first thing you notice about him/her. Then what I do is...if the character looks appealing...I check them out. I find out about their story and personality. If it's a video game, I play as them a bit. And that's what usually makes him/her my favorite character.

That's how Psylocke became one of my favorites.
Or look at the alternative...when I first saw Cyrax in MK3, I thought he looked really cool so I tried him out. Seeing if there was anything about him I could get into. His story's okay...no enough for him to be one of my favorites...and I wasn't real big on using him. So I kind of indifferent on Cyrax. He's okay...but nothing that leaps out at me. Now who knows, maybe somewhere doen the line I will get into his story or gameplay and my opinion of him will improve.

How is that perverted?

See unlike you...I don't form my opinion or interpretion of characters on how they look over everything else. You might find that a difficult concept to grasp, because I know how important a characters' look is, but appearance is not a deal-breaker for me.

If what you said about me was true, Li Mei should therefore be my all time favorite character now. Actually, I hated Li Mei when she first appeared. She had a crappy story, she played like shit, and pretty much came across as a character created soley for T & A, nothing more. I thought she was a waste of space and a sad attempt to compete with DOA.
But now I do like Li Mei...she's not one of my favorites, but I like her a hell of a lot more now than I did in Deadly Alliance. You know why? Because in Deception they made her story interesting and improved her gameplay. Now...even though she is still obviously a cheesecake character...she actually has some merit and worth.

You might find this to be a shocking concept, but when I play video games or read comics, I'm looking for gameplay or story or interesting/cool characters.
If I want sex...I look for my girlfriend. Not my Playstation controller or my comics.

Um...those are both from Marvel comics...if you're referring to The Thing from fantastic 4.

Anywayz, for the superboy vs spiderman match, spiderman intellect would easily overcome Superboy's cocky attitude. Remember, Superboy isnt nearly as strong as strong as Superman. Spiderman can take him down.

Not really, you see the batman vs. ironman could go either way but since you said bat's has everything at his disposal I believe he would win because say Ironman can match him.Which one is smarter?Batman...

And superboy vs. spiderman....come on now?WW vs. Cap?

You are aware of the powers of these characters aren't you man?

Besides, there's so many marvel fans in here that easily out number DC fans that vote nothing but marvel so....your point goes for everyone.wink

Kingjolly, do me a favor... When u post new characters, please give a brief summary of their powers cuz I don't know crap about Superboy. Therefore, my vote goes to Spider-Man.

And Xia....

XiahouDun84 Wrote:

So that's why he gave her a stripper outfit? I'm pretty sure what he meant by "allure" was sex appeal. There's thousands of female characters that look feminine without wearing slutty clothes.

XiahouDun84 Wrote:

No, u can like both. It's just wierd how a guy makes the pretty girls (with good stories) his favs unlike most guys who typically choose the macho male characters. It makes u seem like a perve.

XiahouDun84 Wrote:

Really? So why is Sareena your second fav if she doesn't even have a good or interesting story at all?

XiahouDun84 Wrote:

I never said that. I said for u, they need to have a pretty look and a good story. U said it yourself, u hated Li Mei cuz of her crappy story in MKDA, but she's alright for you now. I on the other hand, can never like a female character that looks like that.

And I'd like to clear something up. Yes, looks are extremely important to me for characters but there's actually 3 things that attract me to a character:

#1 Look - They need to look strong, feminine, and have cool hair. Unless they're guys, then they can be hot and sluttly like Johhny and Kahn. Although I think Sub-Zero's MKDA pictures are cool and sexy even though he doesn't show any skin. Rain looks hot in his MKA Render too without showing skin, so skin isn't always completely necessary (and this is advice the guy that invented Wonder Woman should take).

#2 Personality- (This doesn't have anything to do with a characters' storyline, by the way). Besides how they look, how they act is important to me too. That's probably why I've never been a Kitana fan cuz she always acts very reserved and gentle (in the movies, in Liu's MK4 ending, etc.) or very dry and too formal (Defenders of the Realm). Although she goes better with her "Defenders" personality.
Rogue from the 90's cartoon has a bomb-ass and interesting personality, which is one of the main reasons she's one of my fav superheroes.

#3 Powers - This is hugely why I love Storm and Sindel cuz they have amazing, fun powers. I liked how Sindel looked in MK3, then after I saw all that she was able to do, I was won over.

So Wonder Woman - her look is boring, unserious, and disgaceful so right off the bat, I hate her. Her personality doesn't make up for her look cuz it's, well from what I see from the Justice League show, it's very much like Kitana's from Defenders of the Realm, and her powers don't appeal to me. So overall... She's crap to me. If they'd give her a better costume, that might change somewhat.

And Kitana - Decent look, especially when she's holding her fans, but her demeanor is, well what I said above, and her powers have always been completely boring cuz she doesn't really have any. So that's 1 out of 3 points. So overall she's okay. I'd like her a lot better if she looked and acted stronger instead of like a plain-ole "beautiful" princess/ninja and if she had cool powers.

And Sareena - Cheap powers, as if she even really has any, and the rest of her is just skanky. It sucks though cuz I was excited to have her as a "new" character for Armageddon, but then she was just a hooch with a nasty Chucky voice.

The Bitch, stop being so judgemental. Xia, has already posted a convincing argument on why he likes certain characters. So please no more arguing and no more assumptions....

Yeah, I'll start posting powers/charateristics from now on

Darkeseid:

Darkseid is an incredibly powerful being with many god-like abilities.

The Omega Beams in action. Darkseid's main power is the Omega Effect, a form of energy that he fires from his eyes. It is not only a relentless attack, but it is also capable of teleporting the target to any location Darkseid chooses and recall them later or erase the target from the universe and similarly reform them. Darkseid has pinpoint control over his Omega Beams, and his unerring aim allows it to travel in straight lines or bend, twist, or curve around corners. The Omega Effect can apparently pass through matter and energy. In the third part of the Hunter/Prey storyline, he claimed that no being had yet withstood the full force of the Omega Effect, but Doomsday nonetheless survived the attack. Both Superman and the Cyborg Superman have also withstood a blast from the Omega Beams, but with severe pain and damage as a result. In Galactus vs. Darkseid: The Hunger, the Omega Effect has absolutely no effect on Galactus, though it should be noted this is not considered canon for either DC or Marvel. Darkseid's third son Grayven uses a weaker version of the Omega Effect.

Darkseid possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and durability that at least rival, or may even surpass, that possessed by the Post-Crisis on Infinite Earths Superman.

Additionally, Darkseid possesses a regenerative healing factor as well as immortality, which are common among the more advanced beings of the Fourth World.

Darkseid is also possesses incredible psionic abilities. He once mentally dominated nearly three billion Daxamites simultaneously. It should be noted that this happened after Darkseid had absorbed the energies from certain mystical artifacts, as well as from Legion of Super-Heroes enemies Mordru and the Time Trapper.

Darkseid can transmute matter at the molecular level, as he demonstrated by turning the Daxamite warrior Ol-Vir into dust, and Slo-bo into a statue, and Secret from a spirit into a living girl. He is also able to dissipate and disperse the molecules of any object or organism, effectively erasing them from existence.

In the Great Darkness Saga, Darkseid displayed some limited reality manipulation to defeat the Legion of Super Heroes.
Darkseid has the ability to generate mental avatars, and is able to levitate himself and others telekinetically with ease.

As a god-like being, Darkseid has several powers that surpass most other beings in the known universe. He can seemingly imbue humans with great power, as he did when he made an unnamed Earth woman over into the being known as Stayne, created as a rival for Takion.
He can travel through time and between dimensions as easily as any New God.
Darkseid also possesses a genius level intellect; he is a master planner and strategist.

Apocalypse:

Apocalypse is one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe. After exposure to the Celestial Ship, all of Apocalypse's powers have been enhanced far beyond their original limits.

Apocalypse has complete control over his body's atoms in a molecular level, and can alter them at will, in order to shape-shift his physical form; he can change his appearance or the size of his body, mimic metals and armors, allow his body to become extremely malleable, maintain his full dexterity, and elongate his body or limbs. Through his ability to alter his form, Apocalypse can also grant himself any physical superhuman power, therefore making him extremely powerful. Apocalypse also can morph his arms and fists into various melee weapons and give himself flight by turning his arms into wings or jets. Apocalypse can also grant himself potentially almost unlimited superhuman strength and grow to enormous sizes. Apocalypse can also adapt his molecular structure to any adversity, and possesses transmutation abilities, as his descendants have already proven capable of.

Apocalypse can generate and absorb energy due to a combination of his mutant power and Celestial technology in his body; he can create force fields, project massive energy blasts of destructive force, and can also expel energy violently out of his body. Apocalypse has shown capable of absorbing kinetic energy from his surroundings, and even absorb Cyclops's optic beam, leaving him temporarily empty of energy. He can also augment himself further by drawing on various outside energy sources. Apocalypse can also infuse his body with energy to speed up his reflexes and reaction time in which to move at superhuman speed, allowing him to counteract other with super-speed powers themselves.
Apocalypse's original body was immortal. Even before being modified by the Celestial ship, he had lived for thousands of years, and was extremely resistant to injury. With the Celestial modifications, this resistance to harm was amplified, making him virtually invulnerable, enabling him to withstand a whisper from Black Bolt with ease. After the destruction of his original body, Apocalypse has been forced to use host bodies of robot-like forms to house his life-energies. Because of this, Apocalypse's power fluctuates, and most of his bodies cannot withstand his energy and abilities. In the alternate future timeline from which Cable hails, Apocalypse's physical form was no longer able to contain his superhuman energies resulting in his original body burning out. Hence, he transferred his consciousness and powers into a succession of host bodies, abandoning each one when it too grew too old to contain his power. This version of Apocalypse was ultimately defeated in transit from a depreciated body into a potential host body.

Apocalypse possesses the ability to heal himself, and combined with his molecular shape-shifting powers, he can heal from seemly any damage. Apocalypse has been able to easily heal instantly from stab wounds, and once blowed himself, and regenerated from there (He was also severely weakened, almost falling apart while doing this). Should he, however, suffer injuries that prove potentially fatal, he can enter a coma-like state of suspended animation during which he may recover from his wounds with the assistance of his Celestial technology. Apocalypse's techno-organic blood contains many unique properties. With only a drop of his blood into a vat of organs, blood, etc. the virus can rewrite the genetic code of the material within to form a new body for Apocalypse.
Apocalypse possesses telepathy and telekinesis, and has shown potential to be a powerful psionic. He has shown capable of mind blasting Xavier, as well easily withstand a telekinetic blast from Exodus.

Apocalypse also has repeatedly shown the ability to teleport himself and other beings (it is unclear if he required amplifying technology to do some of these things).

Aside from his superhuman powers, Apocalypse is also extraordinarily intelligent, a genius with knowledge of science and technology far beyond that of conventional science and technology. This was not merely a result of his exposure to alien technology, as he was able to make significant new advances beyond the alien materials to which he was exposed. In the X-Cutioner's Song saga (Part X), even Beast needed Apocalypse's peerless expertise in biology to aid Xavier. Apocalypse has also proven to be a master manipulator, able to turn even the greatest of the X-Men to his side and become his horsemen. Apocalypse is also a skilled leader and tactician.
