Fitting that almost a YEAR later, Necrostorm is finally exposed.

I was wondering what ever happened to this game. What a strange story!

The developers doesn't seem like they want their product to be sold. They can't take any criticism, they don't care if their game is bugged or doesn't work properly, and they say the game is out but there has been no coverage of the game from any of the bigger online reviewers (from what I can tell)... All this seems REALLY shady. It's as if they KNOW the game is bad and don't want to get exposed.

Either way, the game itself doesn't interest me enough to actually want it. The little footage I've seen of it and after visiting their web-site to read up on the game, it just hasn't caught my interest. And they would probably block me and deny me the purchase, just because of this statement.

I do think it is stupid of those people who have trolled their forum and then STILL tried to purchase the game. If you don't like something, then why hell would you get it? Idiots... I find it kinda funny that the developers denied them the purchase and refunded their money, but at the same time, it really does seem like they don't want people to have the game.

Either that, or they just think their game is SO GOOD, that they want to make it an exclusivity, that you have to "earn the right" to get it. Which is both arrogant and ignorant on their part, IF that is the case. This game will stay indie at least, because it will definately not become popular if they keep this up.

The whole thing sounds like a scam. Download a .rar file, extract and run the.exe file and then email the company a code the exe generates so the company can then email the customer an activation code to get the game working? The company also say it takes 5 day to get the activation code?!

That just sounds to me like the company is scamming and even possibly trying to hack customers. While I'm no hacker, what's to say the program actually doesn't open a back door from your computer to the company for them to steal your personal info?

Their email responses are also childish. I don't care if they are a private company and they feel they have the right to discriminate against consumers who are questioning them and looking for tech support to the game. You are selling a product to consumers that isn't working. The company is obligate to either help those consumers get the game running or refund their money. They're seriously going to justify blocking those users on the forums by calling them trolls? Just extremely shady IMO.They're honestly saving consumers money by refusing to sell what is probably a "shit game" to them.

We as a community were right all along.

I've glanced at the game from time to time and tried to keep an open mind about it. A lot of what has happened in the past is somewhat forgivable. It is an italian based company, most of the employees probably don't speak good English and poor communication, I can chalk up to a bad translation. The company appears to be an indie film studio and the game seems to be their first foray into game development, which can explain the numerous delays.

But now they're selling a final copy of the game to consumers, who are having trouble even getting it to run, and rather than help them out. The company is claiming they're trolls and are even blocking and refunding their purchase, because they don't want to deal with people who say anything negative about them .

While they are a private company and are entitled to do what they want, I seriously doubt that their investors are happy about them declining and discriminating who they actually will sell the game to. Not to mention whoever invested their time (looks like at least the past 4 year) into actually making this game (if it actually does exist).

Not only that, but now you have an editor from a big video game website (kotaku) start to take an interest in the game. Someone who can give this game immense exposure and who brought up the concerns from gamers who have already bought the game and the company's public relations essentially called the editor a troll as well . It's just baffling that the people running this company are such brain dead idiots.
Not to mention my last post about the install method seeming shady as hell.

I gave this a second chance to see if they had any possibility to redeem themselves and they go back to their childish selves. It'd be funny to see Johanna come back onto this forum to bash us again. Should have just stuck with indie films.

Oh hi guys, I haven't been on these forums for 3 years but I logged in just this once to say that I'm happy as balls that these morons are getting exposed.

Kind of started digging out my older posts, I'm not completely sure if I missed the part where I already told this story but I got banned on their forums on 2011 for doubting their "game" and their ridiculously "subtle" movie self-marketing. This is also the first time I've ever agreed with Kotaku.

That said, hopefully these jackasses will get the backlash they deserved from the beginning. Also why did I have Reiq as my profile picture, he's a terrible artist holy hell

Honestly the first time I've seen a "professional" get so frustrated they resort to name-calling on their unhappy customers. Microsoft did some stupid shit too, but at least they apologized and were motivated to improve. Yeah yeah, I know, it's kind of silly to compare Microsoft to Necrostorm but these morons will never be able to make a name out of themselves with this sort of manchild behavior.

Lords... It just looks bland and boring with a gore-gimmick to try and be edgy and shocking... Even worse than any MK game.

No, it's just sad to watch... I hope those who like the game will enjoy it, but it is a niche game for certain. You have to be a certain type of person to think this is any good.

I actually made my gaming blog be about this company, but since this trailer is being shown here, I'll say my two cents about it.

The fact that this game actually has a story to it, I find it being ignored. They could have gone into details with their trailer what this game is about, rather than saying, "The 90s are back." From the looks of things, they didn't capture anything about the 90s, just how much gore they can fit in. Last time I checked, that wasn't what the 90s were about.

I also wanted to learn more about their characters. Two out of their twelve playable characters has legit bios. I mean it clearly explains who they are and what their purpose is in this game. The other ten either have like a very short biography that explains nothing as to why they're there, or it has nothing to do with their character.
