I like this roster! Its a bit crazy and random, and I love that they arent doing all Darkstalkers and Street Fighters... If u want to fight with those characters get their respective games. I love that Amaterasu and Arthur are playables over Bison and Sagat.

Im a bit sad that Psylocke isnt in anymore, but it's to be expected that hot characters like Spider-Woman, X-23 and Deadpool are gonna b in. I love that we still get wonky characters like MODOK and Super Skrull tho.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. There are still some more reveals on the way.

BTW, in response to some previous comments, Storm isn't exactly confirmed guys. The leak that said she was in may have been valid, but it was a very, very old leak. There's no guarantee she made it into the final roster. Seth Killian said the same thing about some of the silhouettes in the art backgrounds.

S-Kill specifically said they were saving the blue lighting for someone. The silhouette hype was brought on by the fans.

Pretty random characters so far, but Im open to a non-obvious cast. im pretty sure a lot of the Marvel and Capcom regulars will be DLC. People would probably pay for the mre well known figures than obscurities like Trish, X-23 and Amaterasu I think.

Im really pleased to see She-Hulk. It looks like she will play very differently from Hulk. She's a favourite of mine so im all for it.

Glad ive got my Chun Li, Thor, Felicia and She-Hulk (amongst a few others I like).

I really hope Psylocke and Storm DONT make the cut. IMO they are two of the worst marvel characters and are totally overused and overrated.

If they put Hsein-Ko and/or Q-Bee in this Id be psyched!!!

Strider axed from the roster for "not fitting the concept", i.e. being too unknown? Yeah... okay sure. Some of the other characters clearly don't fit that mold. Clearly.

Seriously, the more I hear the less excited I am. I need to stop paying attention to this game altogether.

Article on SRK gives me some hope that the netcode will be good. and not like shit like SF4. They better take our netcode infrastructure into consideration b/c the Marvel series has never been popular in Japan, so fuck 'em.

And the 6 player thing sounds retarded.

Pretty much this.

GGPO please.

DLC bait. *sigh* I saw that corny rubbish coming from a mile away.

Then again, it might have been copyright issues.

Bulk response time. Yay.

Not a huge Storm fan, but that does inspire hope for Psylocke. As for the current list, everyone seems pretty sure the helicopter chap in the second major trailer is Frank West, so I'm gonna project him on the list despite the silhouette thing.

With all due respect, I think a half dozen of my brain cells just exploded.

It's hard enough to believe someone would dislike a steaming hot British woman who can create glowing blades with her mind, but to say she's one of the worst characters in the Marvel Universe? How did MODOK and Rhino outrank Psylocke?

I'm not trying to bash your opinion, but I don't understand where you're coming from at all.

Even though I probably wasn't gonna use him in any of my teams, I was really looking forward to seeing him in story mode. With crossover games, there's a lot of good opportunities to mix personality types. You get a lot of good dynamics. Brawl did a nice job of that (even if that story mode was tedious as hell).

They announced a 6 player mode? When did that happen? That might actually be cool if it is what I think it is. I was hoping MK would do something similar with their tag team.

With the SSF4 AE content that's on the way, my philosophy regarding DLC is starting to turn around. As fucked up as it is to sell customers data that's already on the disc they purchased, I kinda want Capcom to milk as much profit out of MvsC3 as possible. If those profits mean more characters later on, I'll look the other way.

I'd much rather pay 40 bucks for an actual disc upgrade like SSF4 with reworked balance (buffs only), new stages, and new characters. DLC chars are definitely going to be running well over $5 so that is going to be a pretty big chunk of cash when the dust settles.
And AE's nerfs and buffs have been really wonky. Yeah Capcom, El Fuerte really needed to be nerfed.

For technical reasons, I think everyone prefers the hard disc route. The problem is that disc upgrades tend divide the community. There are still stubborn cats out there who insist on playing Vanilla SF4. Nothing wrong with that, but I figure the bigger the online community, the more success the franchise is gonna have in the long run. It wouldn't be as much of an issue if Capcom just waited longer to between disc releases.
As for the nerfs, I'm just glad Rose came out (mostly) unscathed. Gonna miss that Ultra 2 invincibility, though.

So now, Strider is deconfirmed? Oh, perfect.

That is it. At first, I wasn't going to purchase this game until it hits either $20 or $30 because of what they keep pulling. Now, I feel like punishing Capcom & Marvel further by buying this game USED now (seriously, they're NOT getting a single penny from me). They disconfirmed too many great characters & disconfirming Strider is the last straw.

Strider was deconfirmed? Where was this?!

If so, yeah, that may be the breaking point for me. He was my favorite character in Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2.

If he's not in, I'll probably pass. Unless they happen to throw in my favorite cosmic hero, Nova.

Nitsuma mentioned on Twitter Strider was planned to be in the game yet was removed because "he didn't fit the concept of the game."

... and MODOK did "fit into the concept of the game"? What does "fit into the concept of the game" even MEAN?!

The only concept a fighting game SHOULD have is "great characters" that "fight well". Strider is a great character. He fights very well.

... but, no, I guess we'd rather have 3 characters from Resident Evil 5 (we couldn't at least get Leon, Claire, or non-blonde Jill?), 2 from Devil May Cry (because we all wanted Trish, right?), two Wolverine types, two Hulk types, and the universally reviled version of Nathan Spencer from Bionic Commando.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on that.

Speaking as mostly a Marvel fan, I am very pleased so far with the characters that have been officially confirmed. I've only played a few Capcom games, but it generally looks like to be a well spread out list (with not too many street fighter characters).

As for the marvel side, I don't think people can complain too much. They have the Prime Avengers, Captain America, Thor and Iron man, and the three other biggest names, Spiderman, Wolverine and the Hulk. The only other addition I could see is the Fantastic Four, but their inclusion will eat up four spots. Adding a single character would create fandom controversy for the inclusion of the other three. Super-skull is a great inclusion to both represent them and have a villain on the marvel side. Doom and Magneto are arguably two of the universes greatest villains.

As for people asking for Daredevil/Silver-surfer/Punisher/ - get over it. It is very hard to please everyone. Personally, I find many of these characters as overrated and would consider them boring to play as. As for x-men characters, I’m glad to see that so far there isn’t too many. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was too heavily influenced by the old x-men T.V series.

As for x-23, she-hulk - It is very easy to view them as female versions of wolverine and hulk (that is of course what they are.) But to many marvel fans they have become characters in their own right. She-hulk has been around for many years and has become a fan-favourite. To me, x-23 represents the new generation of x-men. I personally would have seen Armor/Hellion as a better choice but I can see why X is a more popular character. Also, give MODOK a chance. He is a bit goofy, but it is a rather goofy game.

My wish list of the last characters to be introduced (though I don’t care if they don’t make it) include: Nova, Spider-Women, Miss Marvel, Hawkeye, Emma Frost, Noh-Varr, Bullseye, Ultron and Kang the Conjuror. Also any member of the Runaways.

On a closing note, I don’t think I will end up purchasing this game. I never liked the fighting system of street fighter or the vs capcom series. As in-depth as they are, I simply don’t like the feel of them. I think I’ll just wait for Mortal Kombat.

Viper looks awesome. I always knew she'd fit in perfectly in MvsC. I'm terrible with her in SF4, but I'm definitely going to try my hand with her this time around.

After watching the Storm vids a few times, Storm is definitely Storm. Out of all the other characters, I think this one is by far the most Storm.

I need sentinel and his HSF and then we will have America's favorite dhc again. But knowing Niitsuma and his retarded mind, they will probably make it so the dhc won't link, even if sentinel is in.
