Mos3ph it does seem we agree with each other about the NFC south.
Anyways heres the NFC North
This division will again be the worst in the NFL no team has really made improvements. Chicago won the division because fo their defence. None of the teams had any offence last year (green bay was 18th in overall offence and that was the best in this division) Coaching changes in both minnosota getting brad childress and detroit get Rod Marinelli as their new head coach and Mike Martz as their offensive corninator. Chicago looks to repeat as division champions and by the looks at all the teams offeseason even with no improve ment besides having greise at qb they look like they will win the divison again because no one else has made not many improvements.
Break down of all teams by bottom to top of division according to last year standings.
Green Bay: Last year at this time people had this team as a play off team. Unfourtunly for them injuries haunted green bay to a 4-12 season. Jevon walker now in denver farve will look to bounce bakc from a 29 interception season. They done nothing to improve their offence there defence has improved greatly with acquistions like AJ Hawk from the draft and signings of Kendrick Allen of the giants and Charles Woodson from Oakland. Green bay was ranked 7th in YPG on defence last year but 19th in points per game which shows that the offence caused to many turnovers which green bay had alot off. There running back core is deep with Ahmah green who looks to bouce back from injruies and not a good last year. Neji Davenport who was a good back until he got injured and same with Sakgom Gado who was playing espically well until his injuries. There reciever core besides driver isn't impressive at all. The oline is still terrible and breet farve won't have alot of time to throw. There defence will be improved but not enough to match a team like chicago. My prediction is is a 3rd place finish a 6-10 record. i orginally had them forth but i thought about it an i think they'll finish ahead of the lions i predict a improvment but between the turnovers this team produces and no reciever core outside driver i don't think this team is ready for a playoff push even in this division but look in a year or 2 wiht a young defence for green bay to come back.
Detroit: Detroit was a team like arizona who last year people though they make a play off push but disappointed alot of people like myslef. They were bad on both offence and defence 20th or below in both catagories. And they done nothing to improve there only bright spot was their pass defence. Detroits biggest acquistion to me is the hiring of offensive cordinator mike martz.. They still have a deep receiving core talent wise and they added corey bradford from the texans. I think in a few years if they can get a young qb ( maybe brady quinn in next years draft.) There offence ccan be deadly in a few years. I like the pick of brian challon from wisconsion i was impressed with him but yet again he comes from a rb school in wisconson. My prediction is a 5-11 year with last place in the division. There offence will gel at the end of the year. Favorable schedule early tough at the end of the year. There Defence has done nothing to improve and in a division full of good defences they are going to need it. There offence will struggle early but will gel at the end of the year.
Minnsota: What amazes me about minnosta they finished above .500 last year with lower then 20th rank offences and defences. they were a product of a weak division and schedule. Granted that brad johnson played well last year in relief for dante cullpepper. Whos now in miami. They improved there oline with 2 signings (Steven Hutchingson and Jason Whitten) from Seattle and New York Giants. They also got back up running back from Baltimore in chester taylor. If they can get a better back they can really be a good running team. They done nothing really to improve there defence. If brad johnson is injured its over cause they got no reliable qb. They have a nice roster of wrs no true #1 rb. MY prediction is an 8-8 season maybe 7-9 i think this team went down and if they had a harder schedule i can make a cast for this team finishing 5-11 or 4-12. they have a really easy schedule after week 4 and i think they are better then both green bay and detroit right now and like almost the rest of this division have no chance at the playoffs this year.
Chicago
The monsters of the midway are back. The d that was #1 in ppg and top 5 in every other defensive catagory improved with the signing of Ricky manning Jr. They done nothing to improve their offence besides sign Brain Griese. But its clear wat Chicago wants to do. Control the line on both sides blitz on defence and pound the ball with the run on offence. Thomas Jones was one of hte most underrated Running backs in the NFL last year and they got a nice #2 with Cedric Benson. They got no wr besides Mushin Muhhammed and got a decent TE in Desmond Clark. Schedule is harder this year but they will still easly win the division. I really wouldn't be surprised if they had a 13-3 season this year but i doubt that i think they will be 11-5 win the divison again between an easy schedule and a good team they will win.
The Why's and Why nots of each team
Green Bay
Why they can win the divison:
If brett farve improves his decision making and not throw the interceptions i think there running attack can be effect only if farve makes better passes. There young defence can surprise teams and there Amhah green comes back with vengence.
Why they won't win the division:
I don't like there offence. they won't get enough points to contend farve will produce yards but will make the same mistakes as last year turnovers will come between farve and the backs. I don't think ahmah green will be productive anymore and it will take green bay the early games to realize to put in davenport or gado as a replacement for rb. Besides driver they don't have any quality recievers. There defence is young and will get better i don't think though it will lead this team to a division title or playoffs. Not in this new NFC which is getting stronger.
Detroit
Why they can win the divison: Umm let me see. (digs in the brain looking for an explication for the people)......... Well they have recievers right lol jk. But i really can't name a reason they have a young team hopefully martzs will spark up the offence for next year. Ok i fnally found a reason. They can win if chicago green bay and minnosota all forfit there games for the rest of the season. LOL.
Why they can't win the divison: Qb issues under achieving WR's and RB's no defence where can i start lol. Matt Million really messed up this team as GM and needs to be fired lol they need to tear the team apart and start over.
Minnosota:
Why can they win the division:
If they over achieved like last year. No way there a 9-7 team that they are last year. I think if chester taylor has a break out year i mean 1500 yards it can open up the offence. An easy schedule. The defence creates turnovers like they did last year. They will have a shot.
Why they can't win the division:
Like i said they over achieved. Talent wise there 3rd in this division. I didn't like tice getting fired and it will take a while getting childress to get use to this team and being a head coach in general. I really do think Brad Johnson is a great qb but he is old and behind him theres nothing. I don't like there RB's but the oline will help them out. There defence won't get the turnoversthey got last year. over achievment will catch up to them this year.
Chicago:
Whey they will win the divison:
Best defence possibly in the NFL wihtout a doubt they are solid everywhere. Even though steve smith burned their corners last year i think they will learn from it and get better. I think jones benson combination works out well and they pound the ball into their oppuents and have time possession. I think greise will help improve their passing offence alittle bit just enough to balance them out.
Whey they can't win the division
If they don't win the division it iwll be a huge disspointment or it will because of injuries. I can't name why else they can't win the division.
The worst divison in football have 3 bad teams and one great team look for chicago to dominate this division this year and get a 3rd or 4th seed in the playoffs.

Arizona:
Why they'll get a wild card: They have the best WRs in the NFL, hands down. And now, with Edgerrin James in the backfield and Kurt Warner not having to look over his shoulder as far as playing time goes (YET, we'll see if Leinart gets in there), the Cardinals look set for a playoff run. With these WRs, the Cardinals might put up some Arena League scores on people this year.
Why they won't: Well, they're the Cardinals. Being the Cardinals, they'll make more than their fair share of mistakes and lose some games that they should win. Nobody will take them seriously until they go out and beat some teams that they shouldn't. They need to take full advantage of the surprise factor this year to have any chance.
Where they'll finish: Second, and they'll pick up the last wild-card spot. This offense is too explosive to be left out come January.
St. Louis:
Why they'll contend for a wild card: The Greatest Show on Turf may be the Colts now, but the Rams can still light up the scoreboard and they play adequate defense for their style of play.
Why they won't: The special teams are horrible and the secondary couldn't stop a Pop Warner team, let alone the Kurt Warner-led Cardinals. Too many problems on the other side of the ball for the Rams to have a shot this year.
Where they'll finish: Third, because they have the 49ers in the division with them.
San Francisco:
Why they won't contend for anything: Because they have lost their best receiver, didn't improve anything in the offseason, and if they're expecting rookies to save them, well... Here's hoping they win 4 games again this year.
Where they'll finish: With the #1 draft pick. I have changed my mind, the Niners are the worst team in football... again.
Seattle:
Why they'll win the division: They have all the pieces in place to win the Super Bowl instead of getting jobbed by the refs like last year (we all know it was done so Bettis could retire a champion). They can win the NFC again, although I think Carolina has the inside edge this year. If they don't win this division, they have to be extremely disappointed with themselves.
Why they won't: Please. Don't make me laugh.
Where they'll finish: First, and they'll pick up the second first-round bye. They'll finish in Carolina with the NFC Title Game.

Let me explain the rules, first for the preseason:
I present the week's matchups on Tuesdays (exception being below). What you have to do is give me the winner of each game, and a combined point total for the "featured" matchup.
First, starting August 1st, we're going to pick the Hall of Fame Game, which will be played on August 6th. (We're not picking the American Bowl, that doesn't count as a preseason game). Like I said above, give me the winner of that game and a point total (or final score, whichever you prefer)
An hour before the first game begins I will quote everyone's picks in a single post so that nobody may go back and edit their selections.
Once the games are over with I will tally up the wins that each person has for the week. IN CASE OF A TIE, the tiebreaker will be determined by whoever comes the closest to picking the actual point total in the "featured" matchup. If that is tied, both contestants will be declared the winner of the week.
After I declare the weekly winner I will post the standings up to that point.
If you don't make picks for a week, I will give you the lowest total that is scored for the week.
Rules for the regular season are the same as above, but with a couple of changes:
The total standings WILL CARRY OVER from the preseason to the regular season. Which means, if you have a good preseason, you already have a head start on the regular season.
The "featured" matchup for the regular season is as follows:
Weeks 1-9: Monday Night Game
Weeks 10-15: Sunday Night Game, because of the new flex scheduling for these weeks.
Weeks 16-17: Monday Night Game
When you pick games, you are no longer simply picking a winner. I will post a point spread on the game, and you pick against that. For those who don't know, I'll use the following example.
NY Giants at Washington (-4)
In this example, the Redskins are at home and are the favorites by 4 points. Let's say you pick the Redskins. The only way you can win this game is if the Skins win by more than 4 points. If you pick the Giants, you have multiple ways to win: They can beat Washington, or they can lose by less than 4. If Washington wins by 4, the game is called a push and no point is awarded.
Conclusion: Picking the underdog gives you more than one way to win, but is not always the smartest idea.
The playoffs will use preseason rules. Everything still carries over. However, in addition to picking the games each week, I will ask you to pick a bracket at the start of the playoffs for bonus points. Here's how that will break down:
Wild-Card games: 1 point
Divisional games: 3 points
Championship Games: 5 points
Super Bowl: 10 points
When you pick the games each week, all of them are still worth a point each.
Now, here's how the prizes go:
Each week, the person who has the most points or wins a tiebreaker gets 1 DP. If a tie cannot be broken, then I (well, SB86) will award both players a DP.
At the end of the Super Bowl, the final standings will be posted, and the winner will get 3 DPs. Second place will get 2 DPs, and third will get 1.
Simple, right?
REGISTRATION:
You may register for this game at any time until the kickoff of the regular season. If you register during the preseason, you will be given the last place person's score up to that point.
So it's best to register now, or in actuality, you have 39 days to register for the best shot at winning.
I hereby register myself.

This division was one of the worst along with the NFC north but one team dominated this division and that team was the seatle seahawks. They wind up losing in the superbowl to Pittsburgh. (Not many people will agree with me but seatle even though had a few calls against them they still should have won that game they out played pittsburgh and its their fault they didn't win not the refs. It was their poor clock management that was there downfall at the end of both halfs. Yes i was rooting for seatle in the superbowl lol.) Any ways this division won't be a one team division this year because of a team who will have a #2 or 3 offence in the NFL this year and that team is the arizona cardinals. Denny green finally got all the peices in place to finally bring this losey franshise back to the playoffs.
Breakdown of each team from worst to first in division
San Fransico: I will give this up to their coach they yhad them playing competeivly even though they were 4-12 last year. They really done not really anything to improve. acually they got worst. Sure they got Larry Allen but he's old they got a younge receiver antonio bryant but they lost brandon loyad and they lost their only good line backer Julian Perston to seattle. I don't think alex can be a proven nfl qb verion davis is the only reciever they have(speaking of which this guy is a freak i mean he looks dangerous so watch out nfl). They have a younge defence which just got worst. LIke mos3ph i think this will be the worst team in the NFL this year with a 2-14 record and of course last in the division.
Arizona: One of the best offseasons combining draft and free agency in the NFL the Arizona caridinals are finally consider to be a contender. Yes i said it the Arizona Cardinals are a contender and get use to it becuase this is a young team with some vetrans and 2 of the most explosive recievers in the NFL. They got Edgerine James from Indy they have tryed to improved a porous oline geting 2 in free agency and oen in the draft. They got a DT in the thrid round that has potentional to be good in Gaberial Watson from Michigan. They also got a TE for the future in Lenerod Pope from Georgia. They got DT Kendrick Clancy from the NYG. They were 8th in YPG on defence last year but one of the worst in PPG. I expect them to improve in that area and have not a top 10 def but somewhere 11-14 ranked. Combine that with a high power offence they have all the tools to success. I have them 10-6 2nd in this division and 6th seed in the playoffs via tie breaker because they will beat Alanta in week 4.
St. Louis: St Louis has a new coach and a new philosophy. They have been trying to improve their pourous defence which was one of the worst in the NFL. with alot of signings in free agency. THough they lost adam archettla they have gained Will Witherspoon and Levoy Glover from the Panthers and Cowboys. Other signings are just medicore at best but they made alot of defence moves. There offence is no longer the show on turf but They got Gus Ferrote from the dolphins. LOL jk that will make no diff but they did get him to be back up to bulger. They still have one of the most underrated butbest recievers in Torry Holt who proves every year he can still play. Steven jackson will finally have his chance to shine. Thre reciever core is deep with a nice staring 3 with Holt Bruce and Curtis. But new coaching staff i think it will take maybe a year for them to adjust. My prediction after their bye they got a tourturous schedule heres the list after their bye. They got San Dieago, Kansas City, Seattle, Carolina, San fran, Arizona, Chicago, Olkand, Washington and Minnosota. Plus 3 of the first 6 games are lost games. No way this team has more then 5 wins this year. They will be the best team with a 5-11 record or even a 4-12 record. Third in this division.
Seattle: This team is better then last years superbowl team. Even though they lost some key players they kept the young defence. Infact they got better with players like Julian Peterson from san fran. They were top 10 in all defensive catagories and they add an impact linebacker in peterson. They lost one of their key offesive line man in steve hutchingson but get tom achworth from new england. They did lose Jervicious who was a big help to the receving core ( and btw one of my fav players just cause the kind of guy he is and everywhere he goes their team is in the superbowl so expect clevland to get their soon lol). but they gain Nate Burleson from Minnosota. They have the best Qb in the NFC with matt hasselback (watch for eli if he cuts on turnovers and improves his completion percentage though and i m not just saying it becuase i m a giants fan lol) They got the best running back in the NFC in Shawn Alexander who finally gets paid lol watch out for the madden curse though. There oline is still solid and have a decent recieving core. One down side though. There schedule is bad. last year they did have a easy schedule but this year its alot different. They have to face the AFC west (3 good/great teams there) the gaints tampa Arizona whos improved might take one game from them Chicago and the rest of the North but thats 3 easy wins lol. The schedule is harder but not impossible. I predict a 12-4 record for them and a 1 or 2 seed in the NFC and ofcourse wining the division.
The why and why nots
San Franisco:
Well i m going to skip the why they can even contend because they can't lol.
Why they will have the worst record in the NFL:
They got weaker in most positions on a team that already finished 4-12 last season enough said.
Arizona:
why they can contend even for th division title:
Very explove offensive potentional the oline holds up there defence plays top10 d which is possible. Seatle gets an injury or 2 holding them back. Denny green shows y hes one of the best coaches in the NFL. They take advantage of people looking down on them.
Why they won't:
Seattle is really good. Arizona d won't be top 10 and might still give up points. I still worry about their special teams. Oline might not hold up all season not much else i can say they really do look good and tough schedule.
St Louis:
Why can if possible contend for wild card:
If they Gel together early and win 4 of their first 5 they have a slight chance. There offence has to be clicking and there defence has to improve dramatically and the players they got to help make immedient impact.
Why they won't:
New coaching i think they will struggle to find and indentiy to either the run or pass. Defence won't show up still be one fo the worst in the NFl even with their signings. Schedule after bye is to dangerous.
Seattle:
Why they will win the division and get a top seed:
Because they are balanced. All over you really can't find a weakness on this team. Only 3 or 4 other teams you can say this about Carolina NYG(yes becuase they improved their seconary which was there major weakness last year). Washington and Indy. This team has experence now and is hungry for the superbowl.
Why they won't get back to the super bowl:
NFC is so much tougher this year. You can make a case there better then the AFC this year. You can pick 7 teams in the NFC who can win the conference and the panthers just look better and washington and the gaints and dallas and chicago and even Arizona can all compete with Seattle this year. Where as of last year really only Carolina had a good chance of beating them.
NFC west will be better the NFC as a whole will be so competitive this year and i really can't wait until the season starts. LOL just doing this wants the season to start now. I will start MY AFC predicitions tomorrow night probuly with the AFC east. Again heres my play off prediction in the NFC.
1. Seattle
2. Carolina (though i wish giannts but they have a hard schedule)
3. NYG via beating chicago in the regular season
4. Chicago
5. Washington i know i picked dallas orginally i m changing to washington it just shows the competive ness of the NFC east
6. Arizona via beating Alanta
other teams
7. Alanta
8.Dallas
9. Tampa
10. Philly all here .500 or above
11. Minnosota
12. Green bay
13. New Orlands
14. St. Louis
15. Detroit
16. San Fran

You know mo3eph they had this at my moms work and i dominated all thoes 40 year olds last year, i won 7 out of the 16 weeks, so im looking forward to it come the start of the season. Btw, were not doing pre-season are we?
LOL, I have a similar story to that. My uncle had an office pool with like 60-70 people in it, and I won 14 out of 15 (back when it was a 30-team league) in Week 17 to take the overall prize.... $300+.

every one forgets that the bills offense were one of the best teams in the 1st quarter. their issuse was later in games. Meat head (bills ex head coach) was god awful at play calling after the 1st quarter. he would call the same plays over and over and over O_o
1~he never made half time adjustments.
2~always pulled Willis out of every 3rd down situation
3~loved doing the silly screen pass to shelton. which never worked but he still called the play
countless others stupid MEAT HEAD things
The Bills defense was hit hard w/ injuries all season. now w/ every one back and all the new drafted players the bills D will be top 5 again. they are only one year removed from # 2 in the league 2 years in a row.
they have 4 wide outs that are extreamly fast. i see a good year out of them. every one counted out the sabres before the season started look how far they went. Anything can happen.
dan come one. were done. buffalo is dead fro years. they have no run defense. they got rid of moulds and only have one great reciever in lee evans. mcgahee has no o-;line to create holes or to protect losman who is young, inexperienced, and not a good fit. we went from number 2 defense 2 years ago to one of the worst. there pass d might be ok since the kept the outstanding nate clements and terrence mcgee and they still have that solid lb core with spikes and fletcher but the dont have milloy or vincent anymore and dont have big run stoppers. they only hvae one good linemen in aaron shobel. its become sad dan. great players underacheving

Oh yeah, forgot my predictions on the standings. Well, the NFL is always unpredictable, but hey it's worth a shot (I mean who really expected the Bengals to get the division over the Steelers, yet the Steeleres won the super bowl at a #6 seed?)
Anyways:
NFC North:
1.Chicago
2.Minesota
3.Detroit
4.Green Bay
NFC South:
1.Carolina
2.Tampa Bay
3.New Orleans
4.Atlanta
NFC West:
1.Arizona
2.Seatle
3.St. Louis
4.San Fransisco
NFC East:
1.Washington
2.Dallas
3.New York
4.Philidophia
AFC North:
1.Cincinati
2.Pitsburgh
3.Cleveland
4.Baltimore
AFC South:
1.Jacksonville
2.Indy
3.Houston
4.Tenesee
AFC West:
1.Denver
2.Kansas City
3.Oakland
4.San Diego
AFC East:
1.Miami
2.New Eangland
3.Buffalo
4.New York
So for the AFC:
#1. Denver
#2. Jacksonville
#3. Miami
#4. Cincinati
#5. New Eangland
#6. Kansas City
And the NFC:
#1. Arizona
#2. Washington
#3. Carolina
#4. Chicago
#5. Tampa Bay
#6. Dallas
The wildcard round should play out like this imo:
Miami vs. Kansas
Cincinati vs. New Eangland
Carolina vs. Dallas
Chicago vs. Tampa Bay
Miami is good, but Kansas City's offense should steal this game. It's gonna be a blow out, 12-48 Kansas. The Pats go up against the Bengals. Patriots have a great offense and defence. Cris Palmer is good, but not good enough. Chad Johnson will help alot. The Patriots have one of the best QB's in the game, Tom Brady. He'll pretty much be a scoring machine. Final score: 35-42
Carolina and Dallas. Carolina is one of NFC's best so this should be their's. 28-13. Chicago vs. Tampa Bay? I like the Bears, but come on? Their offense will be destroyed by Tampa. The defence is their only chance, but it won't be good enough. Final score should be: 3-7. Low scoring game
The Division should be:
Denver vs. Kansas City
Jacksonville vs. New Eangland
Arizona vs. Carolina
Wahsington vs. Tampa Bay
Denver against Kansas. Right now I tihnk Denver is the best team in the NFL. Awsome offense, and a great defence. With Javon Walker, and Rod Smith, this should be their game. Kansas will put up a fight, but their defence will be destroyed. It's gonna be a shoot out with Denver on top
52-45. A rematch of las year's wildcard. The Jags up against the Pats. This time Mike Peterson doesn't have a club for an arm, and neither does someone else (just forgot who, I think it was Rasheen Mathis, but not sure.) It will be close in the first quarter. Both teams get a field goal. The second quarter, the Pats come out with two touchdowns, while the Jags get a field goal. In the third the Jags get another touchdown, bringing the game to 13-17. The Jags are the masters of huge come backs. But Tom Brady is a master at keeping a lead. The Jags do come bak with a field goal late in the fourth. 16-17. Jags get the ball again after a fumble with less then two to go at mid field. it looks like this one's in the bags for the Jags. They make a pass to the 30. Two more pass plays go incomplete. Third down, ten to go, they make a pass play that just falls sgort of the first. They go for a field goal, and win the game!
Arizona vs. Carolina. Arizona has a great offense, but crap at the line. This should help Carolina alot. Kurt Warner probably busted a ball in the regular season or something, so Matt Lienart is in. This is bad. With no experience in a play off game, Lienart goes down without a fight. 2-21 Carolina. Now it's Washington vs. Tampa Bay. Another wild-card rematch. Washington is without their great linebacker now, so Tampa Bay gets this one, 20-10
Finally, the Conference title.
Jacksonville vs. Denver
Tampa Bay vs. Carolina
The Jags are good, but Denver is an incredible team. Jags lose this one 17-28. Tampa vs. Carolina. A NFC South match. Carolina beats the Bucs here. 13-21
The Super Bowl:
Denver
VS.
Carolina
Both teams lost at last year's Conference match. This one should be Denver's. Denver just seems unstopable. 35-31
And that's my prediction on the Playoffs.
You know mo3eph they had this at my moms work and i dominated all thoes 40 year olds last year, i won 7 out of the 16 weeks, so im looking forward to it come the start of the season. Btw, were not doing pre-season are we?

For all other weeks, the QOTWs will be worth 3 points and will count towards the weekly total.

Well, I looked up Beat the Blade, and I decided that the question of the week gimmick is a good idea. I'll make the QOTWs simple in the preseason, and on Kickoff Sunday the 10 point question will be "Who wins Super Bowl XLI?"
