There was already an official mma thread. But ill give my opinions in this one too.

Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3
For Ken to win this fight he is going to need a lot of luck ie. catch tito with a big punch. Tito better not get to cocky either since the last fight was domination on Ken(wasn't happy about the stoppage). If Tito is on his game he'll win this fight either by ground and pound KO/TKO or by decision.

- I think that Ortiz will win by TKO in the first round.

Franklin vs. Silva
This one could go either way Silva has got amazing striking and black belt in brazilian jujitsu and Franklin is merely good at everything. I like Silva's chances in this fight and im rootin for him to win.

- I'll say Silva by rear naked choke, round 3

Sean Sherk vs. Kenny Florian
- Muscle shark is so big at that weight class i don't even think its fair for ken-flo. The only way i can see kenny getting the win would be by a knock out because sherk is too powerful and will control most of the fight. I think hes to hard to submit unless Kenny gets him in a rear naked choke.

-Im giving this one to Sherk by unanimous decision.

October 10th

Shamrock vs Ortiz 3

Now anyone that watched UFC 61 knows that the stoppage of this fight was extremely controversial. However, I feel that even if Shamrock would have gotten back to his feet, that Tito would have taken him down again and easily ground and pounded his way to victory. Now we get to see the 3rd fight between these two rivals free on SpikeTV thanks to Dana White and the UFC. I think that Shamrock only has a slight puncher's chance at beating Ortiz.

My prediction: Ortiz by TKO in the 2nd.

October 14th

Franklin vs Silva
UFC Middleweight Championship Match

Ok, this is a fight that I am anticipating very much. Rich Franklin is one of my favorite fighters, and he's also a hometown hero. His game is very well-rounded but he has proven to have a fairly weak chin, as he has been dropped by Tanner and Loiseau. I fear that Anderson Silva may exploit that because he is a very seasoned striker, and has incredible pin-point accuracy with his punches. However, I feel that if Franklin can close the distance and get this fight to the ground he could possibly pull-out a TKO victory over Silva. On the other hand, he must be careful given that Anderson Silva is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I honestly feel that this fight could go either way.

My prediction: Franklin by TKO in the 4th.

Sherk vs Florian
UFC Lightweight Championship Match

The "Muscle Shark" vs "Ken-Flo", this one I fear will be going to Sherk based on the fact that I think he will simply over-power Florian. Sherk is a phenominal wrestler with insane ground and pound. Florian on the other hand is a black-belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and has been training with the elite in Muay Thai kickboxing. Florian is definitely the underdog in this fight not only because he is smaller but because he came off of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter. However, I will be rooting for and praying that Florian somehow pulls out the victory so that the fighters off of the show will finally get some of the credit and respect that they deserve. However, I'm going to have to go with my gut on this one.

My prediction: Sherk by TKO (GnP) in the 2nd.

There I'll post in this one.

Tito by highlight reel. Though, I expect it to last a bit longer than last time. I would love to see him catch Tito in a heel hook, though. Just for old times sake...but it wont happen.

Sherk by highlight reel, unless florian sneaks in one of his awsome cut-stoppage elbows.

Silva over franklin early on, leaving 80% of the attendance in a "wtf 0_o, who is this Silva guy" mode. Although, up until Rich's chin exploitation, I expect a good technical fight.

Anyone know wtf is up with lee murray? Has he turned himself in? Or is he still on the run, lol.

I'm a fan of MMA also and thought I'd throw my two cents in.

Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3

I saw the last fight. I blinked and it was over. I got to see the replay. While Shamrock wasn't intelligently defending himself, he got right up after the fight was stopped and didn't seem to be hurt, he just laid there and took the elbows. Shamrock is a very tough guy but his age is starting to become a factor. Ortiz is lloking like he did when he dominated the light heavyweight devision years ago. Tito needs to avoid getting cocky and just do what he does best. I thought the last fight was going to be a long and brutal war, but it was just short and brutal. I had Ortiz winning the last fight as I do whith this fight. If Shamrock can control himself and not play into Ortiz's gameplan. Shamrock has a punchers chance if he can keep the fight standing, but I still think Ortiz will walk away the clear winner.

Winner-Ortiz 2nd round TKO is my prediction.

Franklin vs. Silva

This should be good. It will either be a war that goes the distance, or some one is going to get knocked out. Franklins is a very well rounded fighter. He can do just about everything and do it well. Franklin proved he has a ton of heart in his last fight, fighting with a broken hand. Silva is one of the top stirkers in the world in my mind. He knocked out Chris Leben in less than a minute, not to take anything away from Leben. Leben has a chin made of steel and Silva knocked him around like Leben was an amature. I I think that if Franklin can hold off Silva, and counter punch him then Franklin wins by decision. Franklin has already stated that he wants beleives that he can throw hands with anyone in his weight class. I think Franklin should be very careful with a fighter like Silva. Silva I think will come out agressive and try to test Franklin early. If it becomes a brawl, then I'd say Silva wins. If the fight goes to the ground then it's anyones fight. Franklin and Silva both are excellent on the ground. It winner would then be the first guy who can capitalize on the others mistake. I think this could turn out to be another Bonner vs. Griffen fight. Both guys are going to give it all they have, but I think Franklin will come out on top.

Winner-Franklin Split decision is my prediction.

Sherk vs. Florian

This lookes to be a miss-match on paper. Looking at Sherks MMA record, and Florians. Sherk has an advantage in expeirence. Sherk Is all muscle and looks to be able to easily overpower Florian. I look of Sherk and Florian to both come out swinging. Sherk will try to out muscle Florian to the ground. Florian is more than comfortable on the ground, and has proven to be well rounded. His standup has improved and is only getting better. If Sherk can avoid Florian submission attempts and elbows. Then sherk will end this fight quickly. The longer the fight goes I think Florian gains the advantage. Florian need to be patient and wait for his chances. Sherk i think will come out agressive and Flroian may be able to catch Sherk off gaurd. Otherwise this fight won't go to the judges.

Winner-Florian Submission 3rd round is my prediction

Another fight not mentioned

Jeff Munson vs. Tim Silvia

Talk about a size difference. Silvia towers over Munson, giving him the obvious size and reach advantage. Silvia wasn't all that impressive in my mind in his last fight with Arlovsky. Silvia is a good fighter don't get me wrong, but I don't see him winnig against a fighter who can take the fight to the ground. Problem is that it's hard to takedown a guy the size of Silvia. People have talked about Silvia's ground game but I haven't seen it. To me Silvia is a banger, with a ton ov power. Munson is a very dangerous guy on the ground. If Munson gets Slivia on the ground, whether by knockdown or takedown, Munson wins by submission. Silvia will want to keep the fight standing and turn the fight into a boxing match. It's been proven that Silvia can be caught in submissions, and Munson can pull off all kinds. Munson is going to have to out work Silvia, and earn takedowns. You can't just shoot in and expect to overpower Silvia, but Munson is a strong ugy. This one may go to the judges. It all depends on who makes their gameplan work. The size difference and reach may be to much for Munson to overcome.

Winner-Sivia unanimous decision

It's cool to see an MMA thread. The sport will only grow in popularity as long as the fights are good and people keep watching.

Tim Silvia is going to fight Jeff Monson next month in Sacromento. Also on that card is Hughes vs. St. Pierre. I wanted to see Huges and St. Pierre fight at the last UFC pay per view, but now we get to see it. It should be a good one. Jeff Monson is 5'9" and Silvia is 6'8". That wil be interesting to see how Monson tries to handle being 11 inches shorter than Silvia.

Silvia vs. Munson(who the fuck is this guy)

This is just a fight to build Silvia up to be some superstar in the UFC. Honestly ive heard of Jeff Munson once and he sure in hell isn't close to being ready for a title shot. The snowman is just an up incoming heavyweight and it just proves that the UFC lacks good heavyweights unlike pride. Anyways Silvia should be able to knock him out his reach is a major factor in this fight and i think he'll catch Munson.

Silvia by KO in first round.

Also i thought id add my favorite fighters too
1) Mirko Crocop Filipovic
2) George St. Pierre
3) Randy Couture
4) BJ Penn
5) Fedor Emilianenko
6) Quinton Rampage Jackson
7) Tito Ortiz

Tisk tisk, ICEMAN2. tongue I read in another thread "who the hell is this monson guy?" Shame on you...grin

He's a WORLD CLASS grappler. Amazing. Abudabi champ - 2002, I think, meh. He's been criticized for being a little stale, but his past few fights have been very exciting. His boxing has gotten WAY better, too.

If it goes to the ground, I expect monson will finnish with a sub. Yeah, he's short as fuck, but the dude is built like a brick shit house. And no he's not a nazi or anything like that, lol. He's an "educated" anarchist. People see all those "questionble" tats and think he's a white supremacist, lol. He's not,he just hates government.

UFN:Fights were alright tonight. Glad Hamill got the "w" even though it was boring as hell. That slam was top tier, though. "Arrgghh!! Me eat you for lunch!!!"

Grove was impressive, more so than I thought he'd be. McDonald pretty much did what I expected, but just a little quicker. Bummed that Allesio was on the undercard.

Man, I was getting watery eyes when Ken and Tito were ovating each other after the fight. I fucking love this sport, seriously. Absolutely beautifull.

Here's to Sherk and Silva getting their belts on saturday. grin

Sherdog? Yup. I browse there a few times a week. Mostly for news, interviews and the occasional laugh while I read the forums, lol.

Edit: Also, at Deep 26 my boy Imanari defended his title against Tamazaki. Apparaently, Imanari was losing the fight, until the third round when he, from his back, kicked his free leg up to his chest, hitting Tamazaki in the chin!!?? Then stood up and soccer kicked him until ref stoppage. Holy shit, I have got to see that, lol.

OH YEAH!!!! ANDERSON SPIDER SILVA wins the belt that is awesome shit! I like Rich but i like Anderson more, great stuff to see. Both title fights i guessed right along with Satyagraha. Sherk was dominating like previously stated and Anderson's thai was insane, i loved the finish! In closing UFC 64 was off the hook!.

Here are my predictions for UFC 65

St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes
In this fight im looking for George to push the pace and work Matt (kinda like the BJ-Matt fight), I think George will take him to the ground and outstrike him standing up and will finish with a TKO in the second round. I think its St. Pierre's time to reign as Champ. Matt i believe is going to have to get pretty lucky to win this one IMO

Tim Sylvia vs. Jeff Munson
Well this is pretty much a fight to give Sylvia a title defense win and build him up, i want Munson to win just because im not really a fan of Sylvia. I believe Sylvia's reach advantage will be a big advantage for him and he'll outstrike Munson. I think the fight will go 1 maybe 2 rounds(if Munson is lucky). But Tim will knock him out early im geussing. This fight proves that the UFC lacks Heavyweights.

Rich Franklin will get a title shot before Mike Swick(id think) besides now Rich knows that he can't strike with Anderson and will have to take it to the ground next time. Anderson is no joke and Swick won't beat him. Im sure Rich will come back and make another exciting fight with Anderson.

I can't believe what happened to Rich Franlin! Now I do think that Anderson deserves the title, but just to see Rich go out like that is devistating...I mean being from Cincinnati and all....it's like watching Carson Palmer get dropped by Kimo von Olhoffen....absolute shit. Oh well, Rich will train his ass off and work his way back to the top. But as for now, let's go Mike Swick!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got in from my peeps place. Damn, great show tonight. UFC put on one hell of a card. I would have thought Sherk could have finnished Kenflo off, but kenny is one tough little bitch. It was funny as hell, I think it was round 4, when sherk was crawling/shooting on kenny against the fence, chasing after him, lol. He looked like a shark - "gaaarr, dinner, gaaaarrr!!!"

Pretty much what I expected from silva, though I didn't expect it to come from clinch. Daaaamn, that is one fucked up clinch!! Holy crap, it was vicious. I've never seen anybody control a fight with a clinch like that before. Not in K-1, let alone MMA. Rich should get a title shot soon, though. Also, Swick would get owned, BUT, I think he has mad potential and I've enjoyed all his fights.

The Guida(?) fight was sweet, too. I'm glad they showed that.

UFC 65?

GSP over Hughes in a GREAT fight.

Sylvia over Monson, even though I want Monson to win. Tough for me to call, though, I'll stick with Sylvia.

Wow, again, great event tonight, loved it. Also, I hope they bring back Hironaka, dude has skills.

I agree... about pretty much everything. I'd never seen Hironaka before but he showed me some shit even though he lost, like you said. Clinch was fucking nuts, like you said. Swick would get destroyed, even though I enjoy him a lot, like you said.

I went a little crazy when Guida got jammed in that jujigatame, I thought his arm had completely hyperextended 90 degrees because of the camera angle, hah.

Anyway, loved Florian vs Sherk, and was surprised by Franklin vs Silva. And GSP vs Hughes is going to be great. GSP to win, I think.
