Qualified - off to the Slovakian National Scientific Academics

Yesterday I qualified for the National TDK rounds with a twelve page thesis I put together in two days. What are the odds that your commitee has the scholar exactly for the subject of your thesis?

My mind is blown. First place. I just received 250 Euros just for this as a stipend and recommendation. The National rounds are exponentially far more rewarding.

Congrats man! I have no idea what National TDK is, but you got first! I hope you weren't the only entry haha, but even if you were yay 250 euros.

Actually not twenty not twelve. Mixed it up.

TDK is basically a competition of scientific dissertations within the universities of Slovakia, Hungary etc. I took the foreign language unit since I was writing in English about comparatistic sociological elements between Lovecraft and Stephen King.

To my luck the guy who was the head referee was in the know of S.T. Joshi and Maurice Levy who are the primary Lovecraft scholars. King is common, no problems there. EDIT: official, off to national rounds.

That is to say, if I do not fuck up at my upcoming exams.

I have one class left from previous year which I had to retake because I was in pretty bad shape back then. And I only get two shots at this. Scares the hell out of me, the Prof. is notorious about kicking people out.

And in that case I cannot finish the University, and pretty much the only thing I will have is a damned Bachelors degree. The two years of Mgr. and the PhD. goes right out.
