Finally have played as everyone on and offline.
My favorite to least favorite as follows.
1. Chun - Li
2. Cammy
3. Mika
4. Laura
5. Karin
6. Nash
7. Vega
8. Rashid
9. Birdie
10. Necalli
11. Bison
12. Ken
13. Ryu
14. Dhalsim
15. Zangief
16. Fang
Got several more achievements. Won/lost several more Ranked/Casual matches. Played online with buddy of mine.
My lp is over 150.
Beat Easy Survival mode with everyone.
Beat Normal Survival mode so far with Chun, Ken, Ryu.
Beat Story mode with everyone.
Got titles for every character.
Need 7 more 2ndry titles for characters by winning with them in ranked matches.
My dreaded 3 I hate to fight online are the Shodos, Cammy, Bison.
Offline still somewhat slow but online is pretty fast with occasional lag here and there.
Got more colors for all the characters.
My level is 205 but my highest character level is 17 I think.
Picked up a cool SF5 hat and a very cool SF5 Collectors Edition Strategy Guide that comes with nice print of Ryu, Ken. I picked both of these up while I was at 2 malls. Very worth the purchase.
I noticed something when I play online I think I'm 1 of the few who actually use there v reversal skill. It's quite handy but don't see anyone using it but me. Do you guys use it?

Sadly no. I never really used shadow counter in KI either, which works exactly the same way.
I'm still trying to settle in on my main character. I've been going with Ken for the most part, but I'm not having a lot of success with him online. His stubby normal are making it near impossible for me to set-up his target combos, which are his BnB. Doesn't help either when more than 50% of his tools are all negative on block too.
I was giving Chun Li, she seems well rounded, but I loath charge style characters, was also trying Cammy too, and I'd like to give Fang a try at some point too. Necali and Laura seem pretty good too, but I haven't really figured out their BnBs yet.

Anybody want to play against me I'm cool with it think we could have some fun. I'll prob be on SF5 on 4pm -5pm if anybody here wants to play. Maybe we could get a lobby or tournament going. My id is diablo2rage

Anyone here try Alex? Thoughts?
Personally I think he's one of the most fun characters to play. He can do big damage, can deal with fireballs in more than one way, retains a lot of his Third Strike moves, good pokes, and a good amount of anti-airs.
But for me, there's nothing better than landing a Hyper Bomb.

I'm actually not fan of Alex I think his SF3rd Strike is better. His face his new design is bad. Plus his stance looks like Dhalsim having to piss. He's like 7 feet tall to boot he's not Urien for gods sake. I miss his scar that he had. I use him some my 2 favorite moves of his is his chop into german suplex and his jumping knee grab that grabs jumping opponents.
I'm super bronze with 1040 something lp.
Got so far 44 titles. Using the Chun - Li background looks awesome. I had over 330+ k fight money but spent it now I'm standing at 50 fight money. My overall level is 247.
Here are my characters levels.
Rashid level 14
Mika level 13
Chun - Li level 19
Ryu level 18
Ken level 18
Cammy level 18

If anyone wants to play I'm down my fighter id is diablo2rage.
I could probably get to silver if I was dicking around on ranked just trying to unlock more titles.

My main is Chun, my 2nd is Cammy, 3rd Necalli, 4th Rashid, 5th Birdie, 6th Mika, 7th Ryu, 8th Ken, 9th Fang, 10th Bison, 11th Dhalsim, 12th Karin, 13th Vega, 14th Nash, 15th Laura, 16th Zangief, 17th Alex.

Alex is practically the same. Desk made a video comparing the 2 and mostly everything was spot on the same except for maybe just a few things. I think he's fun, but I'm terribad at sfv. Im mostly waiting for Juri, Ibuki and Urien. Balrog and Guile can stuff it.

It's fine. Gameplay is solid for the most part.
If you are primarily a single player aficionado, you will find the picking to be pretty slim. There is a survivor mode and super brief story chapters outside of the practice mode. Capcom does seem to at least be listening to the complaints. They are adding more of a full fledged story mode that clocks in around 4 hours. They have said they're going to look into an arcade mode as well.
If you're the type that just wants to hop online and throw down, this is definitely your speed. The game is designed to keep you weaving in and out of the next fight as often as possible.
Also, the game is on sale on the PSN this week. That fact, coupled with a nice size update, including two characters and story mode on its way this Friday...i'd say now is a good time to hop in.

Was never much a fan of Balrog, but his design is solid here for sure. Very impressed.

- Capcom Shows Off Rejected Street Fighter 5 Characters
Shown off on Capcom Fighters Network, director Takayuki Nakayama shows off sketches for eight characters and explains parts of their backstory or reasons they were cut.
They include the Fighting Literary Master ("constantly grumbles to himself), the Fighting President (a popular suggestion - he was in the planning for Street Fighter IV, too), Miss Babo (an alternate design for Laura), Soccer Fighter ("way too similar to Roberto from Rival Schools"), Gen's Disciple (taking over from the now-ill original SF character), The Teacher (a less evil design for F.A.N.G.) and a prototype Shadaloo Soldier that took inspiration from Alien vs. Predator.
For the most part - they made good calls all around.
I like the possibilities of the "soccer fighter", but that might be a nice update to Sean. "Fighting President" is a laugh. A new student of Gen could be really cool, too.

Story mode is cool, it's actually pretty long but the fights end pretty fast.
Couple of cameos and NPC fights. Storyline isn't anything mind blowing although there are some awesome cutscenes

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Urien is in one scene with Juri, Nash and Rashid and he's fucking AWESOME!!!
Gill makes an appearance at the end similar to Shinnoks appearance at the end of the MK9 story mode. Being the one behind the scenes and all. They made it seem like Necalli was going to be the final boss, but he was kind of pointless. He was just someone who would randomly pop up and attack people. Bison was the main threat.

The story was good for their first attempt. I was expecting more from Necalli. He was built up to be this unstoppable force and then just disappeared into the ether after his fight with Ryu.

He feels more like his SF2 self than his SF4 one, but he still feels fresh with all the new shit he got.

They definitely have a lot of room to improve and get to the level I feel other games like MK are at storytelling wise but it wasn't bad at all for a first attempt at a story mode. The only thing nitpick I have about SFV's story mode was the editing was really, really jarring for me. Maybe I'm just not used to anime style stuff, or Japanese stuff in general, but there were a lot of quick and seemingly unnecessary cuts that I just didn't really understand the purpose of. However, with that said, the story was engaging for what it was.

Yeah there were a lot of random cutscenes that led to nothing at some odd times.
I really liked M. Bisons dialogue, they did a good job of making you want to beat the shit out of him.

I think SF 5's story was actually better than MKX's because the Villains got to win when they needed to. It add gravitas to the story and a sense of high stakes. Having the villains lose everytime they appeared took away from the threat and it made the Heroes look incompetent because it took over 25 years to win the war.

Bison came off much more menacing than Shinnok or Kotal Khan did in X.

Indeed. If Capcom has anything above MKX at this point in the Story Mode department, it's that the villains came off as more of a threat because they actually got to win at certain moments.

I'm gonna go ahead and parrot the same sentiment here, the fact that the villains were given time to shine is one area that NRS could stand to take some notes. Bison seemed to be nigh untouchable by the end of the story mode, which made it all the more sweet when he fell.
Otherwise, I enjoyed it. I've gotta admit, I don't really have as much of an attachment to SF characters as opposed to MK, but I appreciate the work here. The bit at the end with Rashid was rather poignant, though.
Necalli doing the job for everybody though? No bueno.
