V-Trigger seems like Instinct mode. V-Reversals are pretty much Alpha counters. And V-Skills remind me of what Injustice did with character traits.

R. Mika pleeeeeeeeeeeease. We need moar alpha characters.

A little down on Birdie as a fat slob. 80s britpunk fighting with size and chains is good enough without a bunch of fatguy food gimmicks. Still digging it, though. Not surprising to see Cammy relatively unchanged.

Birdie's a good choice.

Conflicted. Fat Birdie is hilarious, but as a huge rock lover Birdie was always one of my favorites for his hardass punk aesthetic. Weird and a little sad to see him years later all chunky pigging out on junk food, even if he can still kick ass, heh.

Trust me, I want Karin in as well. Probably more than R Mika, but I guess someone holds the ip or whatever that Karin is part of. Idfk.

Ridiculous on multiple levels.

A) Mika's in no way dependent on Zangief. She's a professional wrestler. She fights with or without him. El Fuerte's a Mika fan - he isn't dependent on her, either.

B) 'Serves no purpose', therefore can't be in the game? By that logic - no new character is ever introduced, and no character develops any new motivations or connection. Bison's greying, Birdie's fat. She can find new rivals, new goals.

Ca) Joshi puro is too goofy for a game where fat Birdie tosses banana skins and empty cans to trip opponents? I'm sure we can handle a flying butt pump (or two) from a frilly wrestler - with or without spontaneously manifesting turnbuckles.

Cb) This game's introducing more environmental presence and interactive objects than ever before - the turnbuckle problem may have been solved.

You're never going to lead with her, but Rainbow Mika is a great Street Fighter character. She's rooted in real world fighting tradition, and reflects a national culture -- the two foundation elements that make the best fighters and root the series.

Even better: like Birdie, she's been on the sidelines for quite a while. A great addition for SFV, which seems to be freshening things up after SFIV's return to the classics!

Personally, I would like to see Zangief return. I'd be interested to see how they advance him as a character in terms of design, and play style. It could be a lot of fun to introduce a new rival for Zangief, too. Capcom's full of pro wrestlers, and it'd be great to see Ono tap into his days on Muscle Bomber (Saturday Night Slam Masters) to keep SFV fresh. Victor Ortega comes to mind as a character who would be a natural fit.

Another report is saying that Alex, Urien, R Mika and Karin will be announced.

Those 4 along with T Hawk and Makoto and I'll be insanely happy.

And I believe Akuma was shown very briefly.

Here we go

Design wise I get a little Paul Phoenix vibe. A little bit of the Tekken 4 years, a little bit of the body leathers. Nothing to complain about. The gameplay looks totally off the charts, though. Amazing!




Doesn't look like Akuma to me, but I'm not sure who it is. The hair doesn't immediately scream anyone. Scars/markings could be new. Kinda seems like they're pushing him as a bit spooky - like Akuma. Maybe a newbie?

After seeing a clearer shot of his face, I don't even know anymore.

Thought it was 2 pics, the way it flashed. Akuma, and Dan... Maybe Dan`s corrupted or something?

What about E. Honda?

Karin is returniong? I thought she was somebody else`s liscense.
I liked her style.

Birdie`s comical side may be to offset his BRUTAL fighting style. I mean, he does wrap a chain around your neck, and throw you around...

Also twelve would look good in this game with the SF5 engine.

I wonder if they changed Ken because appearance wise, he was just a red, blonde haired Ryu. Im all for the changes.
