I know most of you who live outside the U.S. probably used the Wii Freeloader to play Braw by nowl, but for those who didn't..........

Brawl will be released on June 27 outside the U.S. (and Japan.)

I just gotta say... (over)competitive fighting is killing the game!!! this is not about only brawl... but melee as well... "advanced" techniques like wave dashing take all the fun out of the game, it;s just an exploitation of a glitch, and the fact that ppl say that "pro player play without items" is ABSURD,... if u dont want to play w items go get soul calibur or tekken... Smash Bros. is an item fighting game!!! aight... just had to say that... honestly... i'm sick of ppl raving about characters that are ridic. in Battlefield w/ no items, and they SUCK when it comes to grabbing a poke ball in PictoChat or any level that isnt a flat land... a character is OBVIOUSLY gonna be unbalanced if you eliminate 2 of the most important factors of the game: Items and the effect of the level!

sorry... just had to vent

Lol...

Most players don't seem to realize Sakurai made the game as a party game.

To battle competitively, you don't use items. Using items isn't exactly proving you're the best. People just like to test their skills. And wave dashing isn't a glitch imo. And people who want to battle competitively without items think it's funner that way.

I still play with items with my local friends, but online with other people who want to battle one on one, well I'm a whole new brawler.

But playing w items DOES prove you're the best!!! Because u factor in speed, control, and how you prioritize... like going for a bomb or a smoke bomb!

also... characters like sonic that dont have a lot of finishing moves are masters at item-grabbing, and it's an integral part of how they play!
Items are what keep ppl from playin w only Marth Falco and Wolf!!!

A party game.......unfortunately. Competitive players almost ALWAYS stick to Melee.

I won't change anyone's opinions on Brawl. But on gamefaqs check the lower score ratings......all those are basically all that I agree with. Brawl is "ok" in its own way, but its FAR from being good, or even "basic".

If you can't agree on any disagreement about Brawl, then you've got Sakurai's cock way too far down your throat.

Peace.

So you're basically saying that randomness takes skill to master? That's stupid. Someone can pick up a fan and rape, or a star or spicy curry and go berserk. People don't like items in competitive battles because it does'n't take skill to wear a bunny hood or use a Hammer.

I'm not saying items are stupid, they just don't belong in competitive battling

Wi-Fi isn't much different... the only difference is that you can play Multi-Man brawl and that's about it. Wifi can be super-laggy, depending on where you live. I have a perfect internet connection and a great WiFi but apparently the game freezes in the middle of almost all my games. So, I just play singleplayer or with my friends on my single wii.

Surprised you guys haven't created a small "tournament" for SSBB with just the MKO members, lol we have more then enough.

We've made some on the MK online forums in the past for MK, with a lot less players at times then people in this thread.

Unfortunately, I can't participate since I have no wii of my own yetsad but just trying to suggest ideals

Someone make a bracket, random match ups

Subman--------
I
vs. I----Round 2---Winner
I I
Ying-------------- I
I
vs. I----------------
Scorpion S------ I
I I
vs. I----Round 2---Winner
I
Dark Noob------

etc, etc

You guys get the point ha, hagrin

I don't think a tournament would be fair. Everyone plays differently. Some people play time with all items on, and some even play *gulp* coin matches!

Btw, tournament rules:

Stock: 5
No Items
10 minutes (I think, or is it fifteen?)
No walkoff stages, stages with hazards that interfere with competition, or stages that are too big
Only Marth and Sheik users >_>
