Why would they even "reveal" him? We knew he was going to be in there. That's like if they "revealed" Captain Falcon. The original 12 characters should be in every Smash.
Now had they revealed Mr. Game & Watch... That'd be a surprise.

Because he wasn't already announced.
Can't wait to play as him. He was also in my top 5 to play as.

Mr. Game & Watch wouldn't be a great reveal, because he's just a returning character.
A newcomer would be much better to see.

I never said Mr. Game & Watch would be a good reveal, just that he'd be a surprise. Because it doesn't look good for him. He'd be a bigger surprise than Luigi anyway. A character that's been in every Smash since the original.

For real. Luigi is one of the "Original 12" of Smash Bros. AND it's the "Year of Luigi." No one in their right mind should be surprised by this lol.
I'm not even gonna be shocked or surprised at all with the announcements of C. Falcon, Jigglypuff, Ness, etc. I'm looking for the less likely candidates like Mr. G&W, Wario, Lucas, etc. Olimar was cool to see back, but I can see why they did it with Pikmin 3 just around the corner of release.
I wouldn't be too surprised if Mewtwo returns with his Mega Form being used in some way to promote X & Y. Or Lucario (Mostly Mewtwo because he's my favorite in Melee. BIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAASED)

I don't see why the Luigi announcement isn't gtting good reviews. Yes, we knew he was going to be in (It's the year of Luigi, god dammit!), but it still did say he was coming back which gives hopes to the othe original 12 (Whic should be in every Smash).
If we announced all the newcomers early, it would be a bad business decision for the game that's going to drive the Wii U the way Melee did for the Gamecube and Halo and Halo 2 did for the X-Box. We all know that Smash is going to be a big driver for the Wii U, and will have a big splash on the 3DS (my prefered version) as well. To announce all the newcomers early would only let the mood die down for when the game comes out, and we'll just be sitting there like "Yeah, we can play Mega Man and Simon Belmont next to Pit like the good ol' days" instead of "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHH CAPTAIN N REUNION I CAN'T WAIT IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME!!".
Alright, maybe not that big, but I think we should gradually get releases of new characters and returning in a good balance, and hit us with a few really big newcomers really late in the announcement stage (Even put in secret characters we don't get news of ahead of time.)
And if Simon Belmont would get evealed, they'd have to make a story mode where Megaman, Pit, and he team up t battle Mother BRain. You know that would have to happen.
Now, to other things, involving those mentioned above, the character I want the most is Ridley. Metroid needs a good villian rep to give us a good nostalgia factor. From what I've heard and seen, the biggest thing people have about ridley is that e's too big.
Ridley's too big?
Olimar is the size of a quarter. His Pikmin are (for the most part) smaller than dimes. And in Smash, he's up there in height with Mario. Resizing hurts nothin.
And Snorlax, ya know, that big guy that comes out of those damn Poke Balls that you see and instantly think "Get out of the way!" Well, how big is he when he comes back down! A little less of half of Final Destination. This is completely impraportianate! Well, that's Smash for ya.
And what about Charizard vs. Ridley? That's AWESOME!

They keep revealing characters that were a sure bet to be in. When will they reveal a NEW (Never been in Smash before) character?

Exactly.
I'd hardly consider Peach an announcement.
Everyone knew she'd be in the game anyway.

Next Nintendo Direct that's probably next week (for TGS)
I'd imagine that they'd show Wonder Red or something recent like that.

And from the pictures, it looks like Toon Link is not getting an original moveset. There's no shortage of Zelda lore to draw from. He really ought to have a more individualized moveset.
If we get a fair amount of new characters, then Toon Link is whatever to me. I'm just dying for new blood in Smash. I'd be willing to cut five or six characters from the Brawl cast just to make room for new faces.

Yeah, about that...
I still want Young Link. A total of 3 Links is what I want, and I would be fine with Wolf Link, too.
I rather enjoy the Links.

Dixie Kong
Charizard (stand-alone)
Crystal
Shy Guy
Bowser Jr.
Blood Falcon
I'll be good with those.

Sure it may just be a modded version of brawl... But in Project M, Charizard was easily the least fun stand-alone character of the 3 "Pokémon Trainer" Pokémon to play as.

I'm not really concerned with the mechanics of any version of SSB that isn't a legitimate version.
As for the actual Brawl game, Charizard was actually my favorite of the three Trainer pokemon. I played with him about as much as I played with Kirby and Samus, my two faves.

Sonic announced in Nintendo Direct...I was hoping new guest would take his place.

We're tired of seeing people that were guaranteed to be in the game. Don't even reveal those guys, just reveal characters that haven't been in Smash before.
Let's face it, Sonic was going to be in Smash. He was most requested next to Mega-Man, and has an Nintendo exclusive Sonic game. So this surprises no one.

Honestly Sonic being announced surprised me a little. I thought he was gonna be a one time thing. So that's neat.
