My early top 3:
Superman
Aquaman
Green Lantern
But I can imagine Deathstroke to be the most annoying online.
Worst does seem to be Shazam. Sinestro also meh. No one is using WW, but maybe just coz she is boring.

Aquaman is the best character in the game right now imo. Deathstroke isn't a problem. Zero combo potential and very punishable projectiles and specials.

Thanks, and oh man, is he working out for me! This character is so much fun! Definitely not high tier, but he may be top 15 when all is said and done.

Lol @ zero combo potential and punishable specials.
Shazam is NOT a bad character at all. I've found myself playing as him a bit, and the trick with playing him is you have to get up close. Get up close, and you can pretty much have your way. Also, he has Raiden's torpedo, except it appears to be unblockable.

A lot of those combos were situational and required two bars to be effective. But youre right, deathstroke is kinda badass
His pistols are punishable on block from nearly half screen. His df3 gets slade slaughtered if blocked.

- Good up close mix ups.
- Excellent super
- Good combo damage (30%+ meterless).

That's true, but that's a huge conditional right there. He's going to have trouble getting in against a good opponent.

True, but it also depends on the character's attack reach, some have sucky range like Hawkgirl.

My only Ranked online loss has come from a Deathstroke. But it wasn't the conventional turtle tech. It was awkward jumping slashes with the sword that I couldn't anti-air because its a sword.
Some matchups are nearly impossible. but such is every game. No big deal.
Killer Frost has vortex... that is all I am saying. Shes insanity.

I dare anyone to try to beat my Deathstroke on PSN so you can see how cheap that guy is. Actually I haven't played him seriously at all lol, but that's the point, anyone can play the guy, at least the zoning and get off me level.
I just played against a friend who is very newbie, he doesn't know to play at all. He memorized Deathstroke's specials and beat my Hawkgirl like 20-1, maybe more. The thing is, he can't win with any other character except Deathstroke, it's THAT easy.

No surprise there, wonder if i'll get pummeled if any of my friends discover deathstroke when they come n visit. That guy makes KOTH not fun,i wish we could vote kick spammers, like we vote, then the game analyzes their inputs,if there's too many of the same in too close proximity of time, then they're kicked from koth....if only we lived in such a world

I been loving Grundy. Not many use him online, just Bane. I stopped playing after 2 days to concentrate on combos and star labs. Will be online for Manhunter like I said.
But back to grundy, Check these out, he's so good!

I'll never be good enough at a fighting game to be able to knowledgeably comment on its competitive balance. I just don't have the free time or commitment to get there.
But I do think I'll get to what I consider an intermediate level. And this game doesn't seem catered to intermediates at all (as opposed to MvC3, for example). Deathstroke, in particular, is the most frustrating character I can ever remember encountering in a fighting game. Maybe that's an emotional opinion, but it's also honest. Sure he doesn't match up well against some anti-zoners, but for all the other characters, such as my current main, Bane, fighting against him simply isn't fun.
Yes, I admit it's my own fault that I won't get to a level of skill where I will completely understand his flaws. But for the life of me I can't remember a fighting game where I can hand a beginner the controller, have him memorize some specials, and absolutely destroy me after hours of practice. That just doesn't feel right. Ultimately the game should be balanced for competitive play (and for all I know it's the most competitively balanced game ever created), but I also feel like it should have some level of balance at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of skill. This game doesn't seem to have that right now.
NRS has made a habit of doing this, and in my humble opinion, it is their biggest flaw from a pure fighting game mechanics standpoint. I play a lot of different fighting games at this intermediate level. And I notice it the most in their games. But again, I understand that it's also my fault for not reaching the level of skill where the game becomes balanced again. Sorry for the rant. I still think this is an absolutely excelent game and a significant upgrade over MK9, which is also excellent.

The problem lies on fast startup and recovery, big hitbox, large stages, and slow movement on the opponent's end. Like seriously, I would jump over a shot with Hawkgirl, but because she is so floaty I would end being hit with another shot before I touched the ground. Couldn't even dash block in between shots. I can't even think how Solomon or Bane would do against that.
The only time I beat him was because I was walk blocking the shots, and it was a freaking time out.
It's true, I'm no pro yet, but I do extremely well against most people I play. But a Deathstroke who knows the basic and zones me, beats me.
Possible solutions to this:
Remove chip damage from shots.
Remove aerial shot.
Increase startup and recovery to fit other projectiles.
Make front dash safe (can block while dashing if attacked).
Deathstroke users are gonna hate me lol, but who cares, the guy takes no skill to win.

To beat Deathstroke:
Pick Doomsday.
Use character power.
Dash in.
Kick ass.
That said, I freaking LOVE Nightwing! He can pull off some mean juggling combos as soon He gets into close range. I just wish his staff was more useful though. I rarely use it.

Unquestionably yes. As to how much... that's hard to say. I notice some lag here and there, but the only time it affects the game is when I can't link certain moves in my BnBs. Other than that, I don't feel like I've lost a game yet due to lag.

Superman and those damn lasers...not to mention that unblockable super. The only time I've seen it not connect was dumb luck. Aquaman used his water shield then superman tried an attempt and it was blocked, and any other time you have to already be in the air to dodge it.

His super is not unblockable, is an overhead.

I think it might be unblockable. I just got hit by one while walking backwards. And no, I didn't press anything, I was trying to bait the super and I still got hit with it.

it's an overhead. just do a standing black when you see it coming and you should be good to follow up with some punishment
