Just finished watching that long ass movie.

I must say, if I were to describe it, it is more interesting than anything.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I had quite the feeling Blake would turn out to be Robin. Also, why Bane wasn't as cool as they hyped him to be, I love his voice and style of speech in the film.

Selina Kyle was of course as great ad I thought she would be. I love how her goggles are her cat ears. So awesome.

Had no idea that weird ass brunette was the brains of all that mess. I must say, though. It was kinda sad to see Bane cry while the brunette was telling what really went down.

Overall, I very much like the movie, and I would see it again, but The Dark Knight still trumps it, for one reason only.

The Joker took over the city, too, and he did it without feeling the need to justify himself. That alone deserves admiration.

The movie was awesome. I have no idea how anyone was unable to understand what Bane was saying at times. I think I only missed one word the entire film but that was when the person next to me whispered something to me and I was answering their question.

The only issue I had with the film is that Talia al Ghul didn't have the conflict of her loyalty to Ra's al Ghul Vs Her Love for Batman. She was very one-sided once she revealed her true identity in the film. Other then that I had no issues with anything in the film.

While I thought it would be nice to have Bane be gigantic like he is normally depicted as being, I felt that having Bane be no larger then what a human normally is, really helped show that Batman was rusty and had to get back into the game. It showed that it doesn't take someone of Bane's usual size to take Batman down which personally, made me feel bad that Bruce Wayne wasn't as good as he was (Hero-wise) 8 years prior until the end when he defeated Bane. It helped me feel bad for the character in a way.

Catwoman was very good as well. While they kept it down with the kissing even though in the comics her and Batman had a few more moments like that, I loved the interaction they had during the film.

Hathaway's costume struck me as more a reference to the old Julie Newmar/Lee Meriwether outfit from the Adam West show, with her long hair and domino mask. I would've preferred shorter hair and a cowl, personally.

The funny thing is the way Anne Hathaway looks now, she actually does look more like Catwoman. She recently cut her hair super short.

Just seen it.

Surprisingly I found Anne Hathaway as Catwoman to be the best thing about the movie, and not simply because its Ann Hathaway in a skintight leather Catsuit.

I've always found her incredibly beautiful but didn't think she'd have the sexiness to pull of Catwoman, I couldn't have been more wrong she was perfect for the role. The supporting cast was just great in general, then again it includes Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and the fantastic Tom Hardy.

I really enjoyed this film, my only criticism is that it didn't contain that much Batman...

I say that would be because she had no love for him, it was all a lie.

And I'm glad she lied to him. Catwoman is usually the one who holds Batman's heart. To have another woman do it in the same film would be a slap in Kyle's face.

I also like the fact that Talia's (platonic) love for Bane was shown, because it revealed what little humanity Bane did possess.

Some people around me in the theater were asking questions before the movie came if the Joker was going to have any kind of significant role in this movie...

At the end I heard them saying that it was stupid for them not referencing a thing about the Joker.

There's a good reason why Nolan decided not to put any kind of reference in the movie for the Joker, and besides, they pulled it off spectacularly well to where it wasn't even necessary to make any kind of remark about him.

Bravo...

Oh and I'm serious about one thing:

Dark Knight Rises was simply brilliant, no other way to put it. The flow of the movie was perfect and it made feel compassion for so many characters, even Bane. I will say that it is much much different from the first two films, but it has a great story and doesn't leave any loose ends, perfect way to end the trilogy. Again I was surprised, I wasn't sure about Heath Ledger in Dark Knight, I wasn't sure about Anne Hathaway in Dark Knight Rises but both ended up being superb. Can't wait to see it again.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
As far as the nod at the end to "Robin", I'm glad they didn't use Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, or Tim Drake it would've been blatantly obvious and would have changed any of those characters origin completely.

Except that John Blake is a mix of all three of them.

In a way yes, but if he had one of their names it would have changed their origin. I liked the way it was teased.

I saw the movie yesterday and generally I liked it overall.

I think its really easy for people to criticise superhero movies for not being accurate, but I think you always have to class them as their own entities. They can never exactly copy origins/storyliens etc for the comics or else the filsm would have to be like 9 hours long just for an origin of the main hero.

Before I saw this I thought, Oh hell no, Anne Hathaway as Catomwan?? Ive always thought she was a terrible actress in all honesty, and........my opinion hasnt changed. I found her very bland. I much prefer Michelle Pfiffers version of the character(and I know that probably wont be the most popular opinion, but oh well). I also didnt really find her all that sexy.

Bane's voice was really irritating. At first, it was hard to tune your ears to, then you kind got used to it.....but then he started having loads of dialogue and the words just got lost at times. I really dont know how those people in the football stadium would have understood a word of that over a PA system lol. Also the accent.... was a bit 'ehhh what is that supposed to be'.

Also
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
the twists at the end with Thalia Al Ghul.....I somewhat saw that coming when they revealed it was Al Ghul's child- that it wouldnt be his son but his daughter, and there only really two choices as to whether it would be Catwoman or 'rich woman' (who was so insignificant that I cant even remember he alias). I think theyve missed something for later films by using Thalia here, she could have been a much better villain/love interest in a later film, IMO.

But anyway, in general I did like the story and film overall, and its probably my favourite of the trilogy.

Now I jsut hope they use Poison Ivy in the next film smile

I saw it on Sunday in IMAX and, once again, Nolan shows me how I stupid I am for questioning what he does before I see one of his movies. I hated the idea of Ledger as the Joker and he was phenomenal.

In this movie, I didn't think that Bane could be a solid enough villain, and I thought that he was fantastic. I also thought that Anne Hathaway was great as Catwoman. She was a little playful and sultry with a little crass and cynical. A great mix for that character.

I also loved how epic the movie felt. The movie was long, but it never felt as though it dragged. To me it just felt as though it was telling a thorough and complete story and as the ending to a fantastic trilogy, I found that to be some great fan service.

I think that the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the setting. I was worried going in that moving the setting from Chicago to Pittsburgh for Gotham City would be jarring and for me, that turned out to be the case.

When you watch Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, you see a continuity of the city that's simply not there in TDKR. Wayne Enterprises is a different building, the overall architecture just looks different, the bridges are different... I dunno, this just kinda struck me a few times in the movie and annoyed me a bit.

But that's honestly my only gripe. Overall, it was a great moviegoing experience. So if I had to review:

Batman Begins: 9.1 out of 10
The Dark Knight: 9.9 out of 10
The Dark Knight Rises: 9.4 out of 10

I hope I figured out how to get the spoiler button to work, anyway I was really surprised at how Alfred died, and how soon into the movie it was. Also, the use of Tim Drake rather than Dick Grayson was sort of weird. And on the note of weird things, was that UFO thing supposed to be a Superman reference? or just a back story for the Joker-death news story? Anyway, I totally did not expect it to end that way,I mean, letting Catwoman die?

I really wanted to see this movie. I live in Aurora, CO, only 1.3 miles away from the theater. I drive past it almost every day. Luckily, I almost never go to that theater. Now I know I never will.

I want to see the movie eventually, when I feel ready.

I just came back from the cinema, finally saw the movie. I liked it overall.

Before I say more, I'd just like to say that I'm not a hardcore Batman (or any other superhero) fan, so just have that in mind.

Anyway...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I agree with Razor about the Robin part, it's a little detail but it did provoke a "Huh?" reaction from me. I didn't like it, but whatever.

I was positively surprised with both, Bane as a character and Anne playing the role of Catwoman. My favorite part of the film were actually Bane's words to Batman about darkness as he was beating the crap out of him underground. As for Anne, I was skeptical about her, but she delivered with a very nice performance. Michelle's Catwoman remains easily my favorite though.

The biggest disappointment for me was the end actually. My heart was just starting to beat faster and I was getting a bit emotional with the "Batman dies" ending version only to have it ruined (maybe that word is a bit too harsh). I really didn't like seeing Bruce and Selina together in the end, that was totally "roll-eyes" moment to me, meh... Well, if Batman had to survive I just wish they had killed off someone else from the good side. It was just a "too happy" ending for my taste. There are some other things I didn't like, but the ending was the biggest minus.

Overall, a good movie, I enjoyed it. I'd give it 8.0/10 at the moment, fresh after the first watch.

- Christian Bale Explains 'The Dark Knight Rises' Ending

Though it's been two years since the 2012 sequel The Dark Knight Rises hit theaters, fans are still debating the end of the movie. If you have yet to see this final chapter in director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, there will be Spoilers ahead. During a recent press conference for his role as Moses in Exodus: Gods and Kings, star Christian Bale took it upon himself to finally interpret the ending for fans.

"[Alfred] was just content with me being alive. And he left. Because that was the life he'd always wanted for [Bruce]. I find it very interesting. I think with most films, I tend to say its always what the audience thinks it is. My personal opinion is that it was not a dream. That that was for real. And [Bruce] was delighted that he had finally freed himself from the privilege, but ultimately the burden of being Bruce Wayne."

Where is Bruce Wayne now? Christian Bale doesn't think Batman ever made it back to the states. And if he did, he may need to adjust his lifestyle:

He's still there. He's eaten lots and lots of [unintelligible] at this point, and he won't fit back in that suit."

I thought I would add in my two cents in regards to the last film of Chris Nolan's Batman Trilogy

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
It's a movie where things come full circle for Batman and we actually for once see Bruce Wayne make peace with his issues and doesn't always have to be Batman until he dies. I found Blake to be more like Terry McGinnis from Batman Beyond than Robin. Sure, he has traits of all three Robins but he's more like Terry in the fact that he lost family and inherited the Batman legacy from Bruce when he "retired".

This is easily my favorite of the trilogy, even better than The Dark Knight. I really liked how it was more about Bruce Wayne/Batman as opposed to the villains (Two Face and Joker in TDK). Great villains as well, Bane was awesome and Catwoman was very well done and original, completely different than Michelle Pfeiffer's interpretation. Great film overall!
