Well...besides the fact that it's obviously too late and I'm happy with what I got, I don't think squatting like he's using the toilet is a good look for anybody.

Mileena's up, folks.

In all honesty, I was geared up to dislike your Mileena going by some comments you amde about your designs for her, but man your drawing of her is awesome.
I am not keen on the whole slutty 90% unclothed Mileena theyve gone with lately, and subsequently how they have/will make other females in this fashion, but you design is pretty good. Its similar to Kitana's, as it should be in this game, yet share similarities with the MKGold Mileena and MKD in the torso section of the costume. I like the added little differences in the details/highlights of design of the boots/armwear (the symbols sued etc) when compared to Kitana too. Its actually fairly similar to the MK9 Kitana lol.
Anyway good job as ever.
Also, would you mind if I used you Kitana pose for some of my own artwork. My drawing skills arent that great, i get proportions all wrong if I try to use my own poses etc. its fine if you'd rather I didnt, as I know you spent a lot of time on poses etc, I just happen to think its a good Kitana one.

Be my guest. I do work hard on the poses, but a lot of that work involves studying and referencing poses other people have drawn. Kitana's, for instance, is mostly based on some Deadly Alliance concept art. I moved the limbs around some and such, but still. I can hardly call it mine and be greedy about it without looking like a hypocrite.

Mileena looks beautiful and I love the fact that you had her and Kitana dress alike and still have a few detals which make them unique from one another.
Excellent job. Now I am just more excited to see your version of Jade. ^^

Looks great. Mileena looks considerably more busty than Kitana, though, lol. I'd say she could look a wee bit more ferocious. But I guess she wasn't that threatening looking in MK2.

Eh, they're not that much bigger, they're about the same width and just a bit taller and she is stretching, arching her back and sticking her chest out. So yeah, I'm gonna blame it on the pose.
Her thighs are a little thicker, too. Drawing's not a perfect science.

I gotta say... i like Mileena. I like the loincloth a LOT more on her than either Kitana or Jade.
I'm also glad u didnt forget her Sais... IMO lately those have lost a lot of screentime lol... I think her sais are as important as her mouth...
Also, love how her outfit echoes Kitana's in some details while remaining original.

You have us all waiting on the edge of our seats! Any idea who's coming next?

0
Well there's only the two left in the main cast, Kung Lao and Jax. I'll be doing the hidden characters and bosses after that.

They're all comin'. Smoke and Noob will eventually have to be done for this piece, and Smoke as a cyborg, Rain, and Tremor will all be have to be done when I do MK3.
I can't exactly promise a "when", though. I go through moods or phases where I either want to draw or don't, and those have a habit of happening right in the middle of projects, leaving them unfinished for a while before I come back to them, so eventually I'll get back to work, but right now I'm takin' a break till I feel motivated again.

I've noticed that you haven't updated for quite a while (I'm checking this thread every time I log on the site :P), but I hope we will see some progress soon. Not pushing you or anything, I can understand you are busy with other stuff as well. I'm just excited to see how your version of Jade, and the others of course, will be like. ;P

Same here. From The Index Page por mko, I jump to this thread. hehehe. I'll wait all the time in the world to see this draws.

MaxiNewSubzero first thing I do when I come to this forum is I am coming to see this thread. So I hope your motivation comes soon Razor ;)))

I seriously love your designs. Can't wait to see more from you.

I was actually reading the jade/goro thread leading me here and I got lost in this thread. the artwork here (and your mk1 thread) is excellent I hope maybe one day you can collab with someone on a fan comic seeing as you have a hood grasp on mk's mythology as well. looking forward to the rest of your work. I'd love to see you redesign killer instinct characters but I don't know you stance on that series.

I like Killer Instinct, but unlike MK, I wouldn't say that the costumes need changing, they were detailed enough and more or less consistent from 1 to 2.
The reason I can look at MK games and say "the old ones should look more like the new ones" is because they've had like 10 games now, including two different attempts of their own to remake the graphically primitive days, so I can see what should be changed and what shouldn't.
Oh, and I got a comment on my art in another thread, but I thought it more appropriate to answer here rather than derail that thread too much, so I'm gonna copypaste it:
Y'know...doing shades and highlights drives me insane. It practically triples the time spent on a character. So I really make a conscious effort not to shade anything if I don't have to, to make using flat colors be my style. I do shade shiny metallic things like armor and weapons when I feel that the fact that it's metallic isn't coming across like it should and it just looks gray or yellow instead of silver or gold. And Mileena's costume because, once again, otherwise you'd never know it's supposed to be a shiny material. (And, uh...I shaded the girl's breasts...I'm not sure why, but for some reason it works for me there, like I don't mind if an arm doesn't look three dimensional, but I do care that the tits seem properly round, lol.)
I've actually deleted shading when I thought I had used too much and a character was starting to look more detailed than all the others in the cast, because I do want them to all fit next to each other and look proper as a group.

Your characters would REALLY pop if you add variation of tone and stuff in the characters' skins. I was looking at them and noticed that the skin has one color and not really undertones and light and dark. That's just my small little preference, I guess would be the word. If that's just your style then don't change a thing!Awesome stuff!

I love how the characters look and how vibrant the colors are. great job. I do agree with you on action poses and comic strips. they are kind of hard to do. Just like the shao kahn vs. onaga I posted earlier its hard to come up with poses. anyway I can't wait to see the other characters that your working on!
