WOW!!!

We have a new talented artist around. By the looks of it you are new on the boards and the Mk game right?

Let me tell you that you did more then just capture the classic games vibe perfectly, you captured the characters in equal beauty! What can I say? Their expressions are some of the best I have seen around, Sub-Zero truly looks defeated, but I love the look on Scorpions face even more, you can taste the evil and happiness. Amazing.

Excellent job with the colors! They look real, they look awesome.

Queve: New on the boards yes, although I have lurked time from time, but I've been playing Mortal Kombat since my Megadrive(Genesis) days, with a hiatus between the third instalment and Deadly Alliance.
The reason why I painted this piece in the first place was as a homage to the ye olde days of 16-bit gaming. The choicewas between MK or SFII but since I was playing MKDA at the time and guys at work were fans of Scorpion and co. I decided to go for MK . :)
I liked the MKDA outfits better than the old ones so I used them. They also were more fun to sketch and paint than the old robes.

Viktor: I began sketching it in photoshop, since I am more used to linework(too much comics in my youth...). You can see the sketch I made here:

After I was more or less satisfied with the sketch I began laying down colours. As you can see, Sub-Zero had real eyes, but due to frustration and so on, I decided to be lazy on the final eyes.
The background is also quick texturing work where I made the environment in grayscale and overlayed textures I had and then colours. Wanted to spend more time with the background(had sketched out a dragon statue and more) but due to school and lack of time I rushed it a bit.

Wind_of_life & OngBak: The story I concocted at the time was that Scorpion would finally get his revenge when Sub-Zero became too old. A cop-out I know, but it sounded well at the time. :)

Chrome: True, true. One of the most difficult things about drawing them was making them buff as they are in the game but not too buff so they would be unable to move. The most problems I had with Sub-Zero since I had to have him fore-shortened. Most of the problems I notice with it now lie in poor-old Sub-Zero.

Nice man! I dig your style of coloring. This piece has a VERY polished look to it... tons of detail too. This is small, but I also like Scorpion's blood red eyes. I've never seen him with eyes like that before, and it works. Keep up the good work!

I love the way you had Scorpion kill Sub-Zero, and not the other way around, it makes perfect sense!

Nice textures and curves you put on the bodies. I only see one little square edge, and that is on scorpion towards his right arm, but that can't harm much, just something to remember when you do your next piece of art.

The background looks nice, plain and simple, good work on that.
The colors on Sub-Zero and Scorpion are facinating. Couldn't expect more then what you have shown.

Overall, I gave you a 5/5.

Can you say over rated garbage? Come on people, the only good thing about this pic is the way it's coloured, and it was obviously done through easy filters on advanced programs.
Sub-Zero looks a hundred, and we can't even see most of his face. Sure he's old in the games right now, but he doesn't look like a freaking mummy.
Next time you try to draw ice, make sure it LOOKS LIKE ICE. It looks like Sub-Zero dipped his arms in blue paint. Cheap blue paint at that. So cheap infact, that I guess it made his elbow look like it was dislocated and his fingers got all messed up on the right hand. Not all fingers have the same lenght, you know? It's sort of a human thing, not sure if you've ever heard about it.
What's with his costume? He looks like the Deadly Alliance alternate, but then there's no amulet, no scar... make up your mind.
Now for this Scorpion... For your credit, the hood looks good but it doesn't fit him at all. It would be better fitted for a reaper, not Scorpion. The mask and gauntlets are nice too, I guess, but they need ALOT more detail.
The rope connected to the spear isn't large enough, it looks like I could break it with my hands. And I really have no idea what's going around Subby's neck? Is that a spear or a fork or a stone or what? What the hell is that? I thought Scorpion's spear had a pretty simple design- arrow tip. That's it. Not this complicated bullshit.
Finally... the backround isn't very original. Oh great... an MK logo. We haven't seen enough of those yet, that's for sure. Really.
Just kidding, this picture fucking rocks. Best god damn Sub-Zero vs. Scorpion battle drawing I've ever seen.5/5

Its great 5 dps. But, Scorp's hood looked like hair at first. Then I found out it was a hood. It looked like Scorp stole the Grim Reaper's hood. You lose 1.2/999999999999999999999999999999999999 of a point for that.(You don't lose any full points)
