Weekly Production Update:
Again, nothing solid beside some training videos have been released. We did see evidence of a film crew cup which verified the new dragon logo is the one leaked the first day.
Two weeks in... and we have yet to see a tweet from Greg Russo. I have no clue why given he was full of them before the movie started. We also haven't seen him in any of the cast/crew photos.
For the most part, Joe Taslim and Lewis Tan are the most active. Today, Mehcad Brooks tweeted this movie will be hot after watching the dailies (the raw footage of the film).
Josh Lawson liked to brag about going to a winery. Taslim (and I think Tan) went to a nightclub. The only time we see Todd Gardner is if he's having some kind of fun - being pushed in a cart by Tan or Taslim.
However, the most talked about "wrench" we have seen has been Max Huang leaving Australia to L.A. then days later being in NZ with a MK tag. Last year during early location leaks New Zealand was a place considered but was shot down by James Wan.
Which leads me to wonder...
How badly are we being trolled here? I mean, we can't look past the fact a lot of the leaked info from last year and even longer is becoming correct in some fashion. Australia being chosen as the site was the BIGGEST proof we had that the leaks had truth to them. I can't honestly blame them for keeping their lips sealed on this project - initially there was so much harassment from fanatics posted in comments to cast/crew and anyone who leaked information... they are really best to keep things as low-key as possible or leak a scene, like IT2 that only lasts a couple seconds on screen and isn't that telling.
I mean, let's face it, no one wants to be told "It better have Rain in it or it will fail" or I'm also seeing requests for Havik and I'm over here like, "Do these people not know anything about the origins of MK? Rain didn't even come into the picture for a long time." During MK1's release there were only 3 ninjas: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile. Ermac was just a rumor. In MKII Smoke and Noob came about. Rain didn't come until UMK3. But Havik? Not until the 3D era with MKD. Spoiler: This was penned as a two-parter. I'm spoiling it now because if your favorite character from MK1 or the first MK movie doesn't appear in this one, there is setup for them to appear in Part 2.
Keep in mind when MK9 was on the dawn of release fanatics everywhere were tooo hostile. There were reports of MK fans knifing each other in bars and going all sorts of crazy. As each game has been released there has always been a string of crazy with it among fanatics.
I'm doubting, although the 2016 script mention Mileena in a one-piece revealing outfit, that we will see the women in revealing clothes. I'm also guessing we may not see too many of the men shirtless. With that being said, there has been a blonde woman present in a lot of Jessica Namee training videos and that woman, Ella F. is no stranger to showing off her body in a bikini or working out and I wonder if she isn't a stunt double for Jessica.
With the copy of the script I have being a year old and with script changes likely happening all the time during production as they run into any issues (every film runs into issues whether time constraints, weather, etc - so don't be bothered by it if we were to hear anything like this) this is definitely looking to be even more exciting. In fact, the script practically changed daily on the first MK movie. To this day I have never seen a copy of the shooting script from the first movie and it hasn't been made available to fans, only up the the Pink Revision.
