Hate if you wish; The 6' Scorpion and Sub-Zero are decent figures, minus Sub's eyes. The only real big disappointments to me have been 6' Cage and the overall horrendous UMK3 pack.

More pictures from toyark, showing prototype sculpts for Kano, Baraka, Nightwolf, and Shao Kahn, Kahn's throne, as well as an honest-to-god life-size Ice Sword.

Jax looks awful. :(

Syco Collectibles is definitely considering the possibility of Action Figures.

The day this happens it will be a wonderful day for all MK fans. Seriously, besides the gorgeous line created by 'Infinite Concepts', there are NO real good MK figures out there. Its true.

(though Palisades was pretty awesome and Jazwares' wave of MKSM characters was pretty decent).

Pretty decent?

I thought they were
"... of great beauty and quality despite being made as toys. Just look a the wonderful quality of the characters!"

Also, these toys get worse and worse. Jax looks like a... Well... Like a horribly made action figure.

Can you really call that a throne? I don't see anywhere for sitting, it's just kind of a giant skull on a pedestal.

It does seem that way. Perhaps it's unfinished, but it does just seem like the skull's been smacked on there, like the whole seat's missing.

I'm also concerned about scale. It looks like it could maybe fit a 4' figure if there were a seat.

Maybe it comes in pieces and they assembled it wrong? Speaking of scale, how much you wanna bet Kahn's figure isn't any taller than everybody else?

Jax looks like Steve Urkel to me.

Entirely possible. Transformers is the god-king of toylines, and promotional pictures are constantly mistransformed.

The Kahn prototype looks nice and big, though. I'm not too worried about his size so much as I am a price markup for him.

EPIC! I'm more excited about this wave of figures than any wave of MK figures yet! we're finally getting a female- Sonya Blade, and interesting characters like - NIGHTWOLF! - who's sculpt looks awesome and QUAN CHI!

Shao Kahn looks EPIC! and can't wait to get ALL of these and that Kahns throne :)

Jazwares have stepped up and met my demands here and I can't wait

Zooming in with a camera lens can make anything look big. It's not like there's another figure standing beside him to offer perspective.

The straight wide shots featured in the story give Shao Kahn some height over an opposite Sub-Zero figure. There's a slight angle, but you should be able to glean scale from a shot like this. The retro figures (behind) are presumably full scale, as well.

My dad came back from China with two nice surprises - the Jax/Reptile x-ray 2-pack and the cyber-ninja 3-pack. I don't have much to say about the cyber-ninjas other than that I really like them, so I'll focus on the x-ray figures. The skulls and rib cages of the x-ray figures are laughably tiny. Their heads are made out of a soft plastic that slips over the skulls. I had to remove Jax's head to realign his skull. Fortunately, Reptile's skull looks like it's in the right place, which helps since his head fits much tighter than Jax's. Jax is a decent figure. I still think his arms look a bit smaller than they do in the game, but at least they don't look insultingly skinny. The SMGs are cool accessories, but they're warped like Scorpion's swords (although they are less flimsy than the swords). Reptile...is broken. This is why I made this post before unpacking the cyber-ninjas; I really needed to get it off my chest. As soon as I took him out of the package, I saw the back of his neck was already breaking off. I'll try to glue it back on later, and hopefully he'll be able to turn his head after that. The sculpt looked decent, but the poor quality control goes to show why another company should have gotten the rights to make MK figures. I can only hope Syco Collectibles eventually do get the rights. While my post may indicate otherwise, the only thing that has really disappointed me is Reptile's broken neck. tongue
