Agreed. I won't get my hopes up, but it would be cool if they got the rights to make figures.
Syco Collectibles is definitely considering the possibility of Action Figures.
The day this happens it will be a wonderful day for all MK fans. Seriously, besides the gorgeous line created by 'Infinite Concepts', there are NO real good MK figures out there. Its true.
(though Palisades was pretty awesome and Jazwares' wave of MKSM characters was pretty decent).

GI Joe and the 1:18 Jazwares line would like you to step outside for a moment

Wait....which Jazwares 1:18 line? The only thing that was worthy from them (imo) was the one that featured the MKSM cast of characters (including MKDA Kano and MKD Noob). Their MKD line was awful and their 2011 line is even worse.
As for GI Joe, I will admit that they are nice (and more likable than Jazwares), but, not the MK figures that we've all dreamed of, nothing at all.
Jizz. Everywhere.
Fresh from Toyfair 2012: Jazwares have still DEFINITELY got the license. We're getting MK1 Ermac, "Battle damage Sub-Zero", Noob, motherfucking NIGHTWOLF, Quan Chi, Kahn, Goro, some manner of large box with Shang inside (looks like a stand of some sort? There are pillars), painted versions of the Jax and Reptile form the X-Ray pack, and 20th anniversary "through time" boxsets for Scorpion and Sub-Zero, featuring the Shaolin Monks looks. There's also the familiar X-Ray pack itself, and the Electric Raiden.
Oh and...y'know...Sonya Blade. :D

Nightwolf = Bad-ass-ness-ness. The large Shang Tsung box seems to have two Masked Guards in it, which is FUCKING AWESOME!

I'm not sure how to feel about this. It's good to know they're dedicated to this line, but I still wish another company was making them.

Jazware's 1:18 line, UMK3 ninjas aside, is fairly good. The QC isn't too bad and the figures themselves are good.

About time Noob got some love, he just better look as sick as the older Saibot figure.
But im still hoping that Syco will pull off an ability to get figures made.

The fact that they made Noob Saibot, Nightwolf, and Quan Chi has me hopeful to see Stryker and Kabal( YAY).
I'd adore them forever if they add Jade, Rain, or Sheeva to the mix, I can actually afford to get multiple ones like these as opposed to the syco collectibles ones.
The quality isn't perfect, but it's good enough, especially considering characters like Nightwolf have never had their own official action figures.

That 90's style Nightwolf sculpt is fucking hilarious. I feel sorry for whoever is fitting the bill for these sculptor's salaries.

What are you talking about? You can barely make out any details, and from the little I can see it's his 2011 outfit.
Honestly, Jazwares are getting a bit too much of a bad rap. The UMK3 ninjas were bad (my review's incoming), Cage's face is horrible, and Jax looks off. But it's been pretty good apart from that. Their 6' Scorpion is a great figure.
They seem to have a problem getting human faces right; that's what concerns me most right now. I think Noob and Kahn are going to wind up looking nothing short of great. Worried about Sonya and Nightwolf though.

Would that be the Noob whose clothes are light gray instead of black? The one I own whose paint apps are fucking misaligned? lol
Anyway, where is this pic of Nightwolf everybody's talking about? I don't see him.

You can't even make out the details, what was the guy who called it a "90's style sculpt" talking about?

I have no idea. I think he's just hating on it because almost everyone else is.

The text is really blurry but there seems to be an additional text for "Special Series" on top of Nightwolf's name in the box. Would this be the beginning of a special series for the underprivileged fighters perhaps?

I think it just says "Mortal Kombat". You'll see stuff like that happen with figures when the trademark for a single name can't be acquired, e.g., "Autobot Ratchet", "Decepticon Shockwave". The box sets have "Mortal Kombat Smoke" for where he's listed.

I see, it must be "Mortal Kombat" then.
It's great that they're making new characters, but the Ermac is a just a repaint of the horrible classic ninjas, and the Scorpion and Sub-Zero are old sculpts from MK:SM. Everything else is cool. Really looking forward to Kahn and Sonya. Thanks for posting this info, I was waiting for this news.

Actually no.
I don't want to sound condescending so I'm not going to go into a long post about why these figures, especially Nightwolf, look like they were done by a C-grade sculptor. Like a game or movie, a preview tells me a lot of what to expect from the final product, and these look like shit already. It's not a case of a few tweaks or finished job, the entire foundation is bad and will ultimately end in yet another bad product.

Jazwares figures are hit or miss. Shao Kahn looks way better than I had hoped for. The throne looked great too. I liked that prototype of Jax as well.
