Personally they were both hot and played great sonyas i thought, but i have to go with Sandra Hess, the other one was a little too bitchy for my taste, the second one was more fiesty IMO and played her better than the first one did.
And please NO trish, a little too manly for Sonya IMO,she can play an outworld girl for sure??
I want Sandra Hess back.OHHHH what i would give to spend a night with her.

Out of the two, I would much rather have Sandra Hess back, but I wouldn't say no to trying someone new as Sonya either.
The character of Sonya is supposed to be a fighter, a skilled martial artist. but Wilson has some of the least convincing fight scenes I have ever seen, stiff limbed and jerky.

There's only one that can play Sonya Blade and that's Kerri Hoskins, she so much hotter then Bridgette and Sandra. And she know's a lot more of Martial Arts.

Hmm maybe Kerri can't act, but it ain't hard to take some acting lessons... i'm certain it would encourage more people to go see mortal kombat :D

im sorry whats wrong with Trish

but hey, what can i cay, she can't even do any of sonya's speacial moves!

she can't even do a freakin high kick!

and of course she can never win a fight.

yes i was being sarcastic, and i think that she would make a perfect sonya.

I like both, but I really think Sandra Hess should play Sonya.

Sandra Hess definately, in MK:A she did great, plus, she is beauti.....no dare I say it.......HOT.
Wow....the umpteenth version of this discussion I've seen on this forum. Oh well.
In a nutshell -
Bridgette Wilson = Great playing Sonya's personality, but wasn't up to speed on the martial arts required to do the role correctly.
Sandra Hess = Had the moves down pat, but couldn't act as Sonya without sounding whiney and forced. (though this could be due to the terrible script for MK:A)
My suggestion? Either fix the flaws in either actor so that they'd do better a second time around, or get someone fresh who can juggle both. My vote would be to Kristanna Loken, since she did a good job of playing Taja in MK:Conquest, and she's got alot of acting skill under her belt for that type of character. (ex.: she played T-X in Terminator 3, and will be playing as Rayne in the "Bloodrayne" movie)

How about someone new who could and AND fight? My vote goes to Hudson Leick (played Callisto on 'Xena'). Kristanna Loken is also a good choice IMO.

Bridgette Wilson is the best for the role. The more talented actors in the first movie was why is was better than the second movie. Wilson has "the look" as well. Sandra Hess didn't seem like a movie sonya as much as tv sonya, if that makes any sense. Since Ashby will be back as Johnny, it would be a great match putting Bridgette as Sonya. Of course, if I had my way, the third movie would assume that the second didn't happen and make a real sequel. *raises shield*

the first one by far!

Bridgette Wilson. She can act better, she looks better (In my opinion), and fits the part better.....but she could use some fighting work. Definately Bridgette Wilson.

i want someone that can ACT please! I don't have nothing against the past Sonyas, Briggette did an awesome job and Sandra didn't do too bad either. The storyline and other actors like Brian thompson and james renmar KILLED the second film, so that made other actors look bad, (like sandra) but i think Sandra Hess would be super if they give her a better costume this time and she gets to work with better actors. Either one would be great, but the reason i choose Sandra is simply because she can fight better.

Without a doubt, Bridgette. She just has the Sonya thing down. SHe plays it very well, though Sandra Hess didn't do too bad acting, I still think Bridgette did a much better job.
