I for 1 am very upset that the RUN mechanic is gone. But I'll get over that eventually.
Another thing that upset me is the limited Customization. NRS was acting like customizing was going to be the bee's knees of the game, but after the reveal event, we see that the characters have even less options than Injustice 2. Injuctice2 had 5 customizable options for every fighter. MK11 only has 3, and its basically only the characters' accessories. We can't even switch shirts to different pants. I've personally been dying for a sleeveless and hatless Raiden ever since his MK5 alt costume.
The new meter-burn system also upsets me. If you missed it, to meter-burn or "amplify" your special moves, you have to input a secondary button combo, instead of simply pressing R2. This isn't new however, this is how it worked in MKvsDC. The problem was that you had to remember EVERY input for every special move, for 30 something characters. Ooor, we can just universally press R2. Hell, I'm already going to have trouble remembering all the krushing blow requirements for every character. Dont do this NRS! Supposedly even Ed Boon himself wants to go back to R2 as meter-burn, according to a youtube video I watched earlier by Dynasty. Here is the link... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzBaN2grIek
Anything else disappointing to you guys?
The fact that Mokap and Kobra weren't revealed indicate they're not in the game. I guess we must've pissed off Ed Boon to deserve this.
The meter burn system in its current state is the biggest thing I dislike. It is really unintuitive, just a unwelcome change. Minor nitpick is that they removed Scorpion's takedown move and I hate the fact Scorpion's spear has to be amplified to give a free hit.
Definitely the meter burn system (enhanced special moves). Everything else I can deal with and adapt to, but the enhanced special move thing is not great.
I know I'm in the minority here, but having a customization system in general was a let down for me. I know, I know, most of you like it, but he lack of cohesiveness just annoys me. I didn't like it in Injustice 2, I don't like it in CoD or Battlefield, and I'm not gonna like it in MK11. Hell, I didn't like that characters switched to their alts in tower mode on MKX. I'm just not a fan, but that's gonna be my issue. All of you go out and have fun with your white Scorpions and fuschia Sub-Zeros. Everyones Chameleon now and I'll have to live with it.
I'm a Scorpion fan so the spear requiring meter to be a useful move annoys me to no end. I'm slightly concerned about the mobility but I haven't played it only watched. I don't want run back but I would prefer better dashes and I REALLY don't want this to play like Injustice. Everyone who HAS played it says it doesn't but it just looks like it does so here's hoping. Not having his spear move do anything useful without meter is a massive nerf though. Oooh, I can get a hard knockdown... that doesn't help me at all... plus he already has a bajillion normals that do that so... yeah.
Other than that though I am stoked for this game.
Questionable to awful default character costumes. (Sonya, Sub-Zero)
Dull photo realistic visuals instead of a intriguing art style that better suits the absurd overkill fantasy tone of MK.
Soundtrack so far seems alright to lackluster, AGAIN. What the hell happened to the sound department after Deception? Yet they're still marketing the game with a soundtrack that is obviously not in the game just as they did with MKX.
The Arenas: So far aside from what I presume is Shang's island revisited, all seem as dull and generic as they were in MKX..NRS, stop with the dramatic shadows!
Three variations again. Great, they were scraping the bottom of the barrel to fill out some of those slots for characters last time. Let's see who gets merged with who this time so certain characters can have a third variation.
Story mode. It doesn't work. It's format results in too many characters being overlooked, underdeveloped and making no impression. It wouldn't be as big of a problem if the character design wasn't so dull.
EDIT: @Viser I agree, I think the standard look for Kuai Liang should be John Turk; after all he is a mix of oriental and white and that seemed to be the way they were going from MK3 to MKDA.
Mortal Kombat is rated E for Everyone.
I actually worry about too much customization. Grey Scorpion is not what I associate Scorpion with. Not even light blue sub-zero. Blue Skarlet?
I feel like the models have less overall detail than previous outings specifically because of the customization.
If Final Blows whiff, they should whiff, not reset.
At first I didn't like the art style, but it has REALLY grown on me. So I'm liking every thing.
The only thing I'm not fond of is the 25 base roster. Too small and the chances of there being a few curve balls besides Skarlet is very slim.
The speed, or lack thereof. And how many hits it takes to win a round. Other than that, looks like this will be an amazing game.

People asking the team to strip the females and bring the MK9 porno all over again. #Disgusting !
I think it's weird that people are outraged over Sonya not showing enough skin. MK9 is about the only MK where she showed lots of skin. She did have those weird spherical boobs in one of the earlier games though.
...
No stage fatalities confirmed or hinted.
EX moves require pain in the ass inputs.
Backgrounds darken way too much and too suddenly during brutalities.
Fatal blows are cool and useful, but I feel they last too long, because the last hit is usually an overkill.

Sub default costume...uhg
That stupid ring on his head..
Those cheap-looking LinKuei arm things..
Klungy scholder armor..
Very busy suit with all type of motives..
But..he is still my favourite character who Will be going to need a customisation.
Probably gonna mis the RUN, really liked it in MKX
Pretty much it
...
Considering there’s a chance to bring back a lot of people due to the time bending storyline. I feel that 25+1 characters is too few. ( 32 I suppose if you count the Kombat pack although likely to have 2 or 3 guests in that wasting spots that ruin the immersion for me.
Only thing that disappoints me is the shown "roster size" as to me it's too small. I'm hoping its just a placeholder and the actual one will fill it out more.
The things that actually would disappoint me haven't been revealed/shown yet. I'm liking what i'm seeing so far though.

Roster size, the current amplify system and not having enough outfit options. That’s honestly it. This game looks awesome otherwise.
The real Smoke.
The initial roster size and I feel that some of the costume design takes too many cues from the Injustice 2 designs (e.g. Sub-Zero's blue for one of his other outfits is a bit too saturated and the materials of the costume look synthetic and not raw looking). Other than that I'm stoked.

I agree with everything here. I’ve always preferred alt costumes as opposed to complete customization. Strips away so much of the character’s identity. I guess at the very least, it’s good that they’ve given gear less priority and it’s more about the costume with a few minor tweaks, but the shaders are gonna be hard to stomach. For a few of these characters, the colors they wear are a part of their identity. A blue Scorpion is absolute blasphemy considering the character’s history.
...ok...maybe one thing.

I despise customization as well. It’s ridiculous. The Johnny Cage mime custome was the jump the shark moment for me.
Lol I respect everyone's opinion but ...
People complaining about a MK game being photo realistic, is like a soccer fan complaining about the lack of hand balls from non-goalkeeper players.
It makes you doubt that they are fan of soccer to begin with.
Mk was always about photorealism, and will always be about that. The only games that were not realistic anatomy wise were the 3D ones and they are the worst of the worst.
A thing I personally dislike is the excessive brightness and colorfulness of the stages and characters.
Also, character design was better in MK X than 11, imo.
My only complaint is that the game looks like it plays nothing like MKX. MKX played nothing like MK9, at first, and I hated that. But, once I gave it a shot, I loved it loads more than MK9, which seemed very clunky in comparison to MKX. Other than that, I have yet to play it, so judging gameplay would be ignorant and brash.
To me, the complaint regarding the button inputs for special moves to be meter-burned is a complaint that would be made by your typical casual gamer or someone with very little patience for learning a game. I learned to do 30-plus-percent in at least one variation for every character in MKX. So, learning one extra button input isn't going to burden me anymore than remembering hundreds of kombos did.
People asking the team to strip the females and bring the MK9 porno all over again. #Disgusting !
I've never seen this anywhere, but this seems like a complaint regarding a specific game's fanbase done in the vein of political correctness. If you're seeing all of these comments and this alleged outrage on Twitter, maybe avoid reading too much into things and/or taking those comments personally. Twitter is the social media form of text messaging and nothing on there, in spite of what their guidelines allege, should be taken so seriously that you're disgusted or offended by a particular sect of fans. If you're seeing this elsewhere, then I suggest going by the same advice. Social media, much like the rest of the Internet, should (virtually) never be taken seriously.
Though, since you referred to Sonya, I will point out that it is a little odd (and very noticeable) that she went from being quite "gifted" to being much less...buxom. Breast reduction is a common thing for women as they age, so this sort of thing being done to Sonya is not something that I'd nitpick. Besides, outside of Kerri Hoskins and Bridgette Wilson, nothing about Sonya was ever very appealing to me.
