In general they seem to have gone for the correct Asian look as opposed to those whitewashed / hollywood versions of Asians. Liu Kang, Scorpion and Sub-Zero in particular all look much closer to their claimed heritage in the game (Japanese / Chinese), though with the odd shaped faces it still looks weird haha. Kung Lao looks way off still.

Kitana looked Asian in MK vs DC too.

I think its important to be aware of the fact that there isnt just ONE standard look to the Asian Ethnicity. So for someone that isnt asian, we assume for them to look the cliche way. There is a huge array of differences in shapes and eye shape, even depending on what part of China you are from, for example. I actually like the way Kung Lao looks. Kung looks like Chinese from the Southern areas of China, mostly having slightly darker skin, slightly broader nose, rounder eyes and a rounder face, They are using actual peoples face molds this time - can only imagine how those people are feeling with the huge backlash of Cassie, Skarlet, Lui and Kung being considered "ugly" lol.

Im sure NRS will tweak here and there but I think ALL the characters they've shown so far look better then they EVER have. Trust in NRS we must :)

Ability to change race is plausible. This is nothing new in MK. I don't ever remember seeing Kitana look that oriental.

It’s more common to read negative remarks about something than positive because people with positive remarks are content with the “thing” and people with negative remarks want to voice their opinion. Completely natural.

On another note, I've always preferred her Latina appearance, mostly due to my preference of Talisa Soto. I noticed they gave Jade a more Asian look in MKX Mobile, which broke my heart given she up to that point had always looked black. Now, if there is going to be an ongoing consistency, then fine, but for once I'd like to see a MK character have the same face in two games.

Like it or not, it comes down to image and characteristics no matter where she's from. She doesn't look extraterrestrial so to me she qualifies as female, just very old. It's not like she's exactly deformed.

In reality, it is incorrect to refer to her as having any ethnicity, as she is not human. She is not Asian; she looks Asian. And yes, such clarification matters.

For the record, being extraterrestrial has nothing to do with sex, so why you decided to make a note of her being female is beyond me.

Getting back on topic, I will say that I can't be too disappointed about Kitana having an Asian appearance, as I do recall her initial incarnation, 'Kitsune,' actually being Asian. Again, hopefully this leads to some consistency.

I really liked Kitana’s face sculpt from MKX. Of course they didn’t get it to look as good in the game. But this right here should be the standard for Kitana’s face.

Kitana has always been vaguely Asian with a hint of Talisa Soto in the last generation of games at least.

i'm going to sound very conceited but i don't care what Kitana looks like as long as she looks better than she did in MK9 and MKX her face was too wide (nothing wrong with that) but it bugged me that Jacqui even though i hated her had a prettier face than Kitana, don't say Kitana is the most beautiful female in the game as she is a Princess and then she looks like a really bad amateur drag queen

I'm into it. Could be a nod to Talissa Soto which I am very okay with. Plus there has never been anything that says definitively that Edenian's can't have similar races. If they can look white, why can't some of them look asian, black, etc

Y'know it's really irritating that people are referencing the MK movie as the correct appearances of these characters. The movie was entertaining, but it was a HUGE departure from the games AND I felt some of the casting didn't really fit. THIS is what Kitana is supposed to look like. END OF STORY!
