The way this thread has gone, if Frost is revealed, being Sub-Zero with breasts will be the least of her worries.

Eh, no big deal. If she’s too covered up, some will hate it. If she’s too revealing, some will hate it. If she’s on the roster at all instead of (insert character here), some will hate it.

Just do what I’m sure the devs do and just tune it out. No worries. :-)

well if she shows some arm skin it might be ok for some people. but if she is also covered up this thread should be shut down like 6 pages ago

Meh.. I don't know. Female characters in MK games are all the same, really. Sure, they're not wearing bikinis, but is that really our idea of leveling the playing field? First of all, why is it ok for male fighters to not be wearing a shirt? Kano, Liu Kang, Goro, to name just a few. So is it really sexist if a female character is only wearing a tight top?

Secondly, male characters are represented in all shapes and sizes. Muscular martial artists, big hulking brutes (Goro, Torr, Shao Kahn), old sorcerers (Shang Tsung and Shinnok), cybernetic warriors, creature characters (Motaro, Moloch), etc. So there's a lot of diversity in male characters, but I don't see this in female characters at all. All female characters in MK games are pretty much all the same: they have a young, athletic, sexy body. Normal face, beautiful often (disregarding bad CG modeling). They're all pretty much the same character. There are three 'exceptions' to this: Sheeva, who's a Shokan, and is somewhat larger and more muscular than other girls, and maybe not as cute in the face. D'Vorah's a humanoid, but is still kinda hot in a weird way, in MKX at least. Ferra is a small girl, but isn't actually playable. Nitara has potential, but she's basically just another hot chick, with wings. Jataaka, Kia and Sareena are demons, but again; hot women. Sindel's old, but she's a total milf. Even a bald broad like Kronika looks kinda decent, right? So are sexy clothes really the issue here?

They could do an old crooked hag character: an evil old sorceress dressed in dirty rags. It's a niche that has never been explored in an MK game. What if they took a Shokan female and made her a huge, lumbering brute of a woman, with a truly grotesque face? Maybe she lost one arm to drive home the point that she isn't physically 'ideal'. Why not? Name her Ogro. Has there ever been a canonical cybernetic female? Where's my Tarkatan female? Mileena doesn't really count. A true Tarkatan female warrior. She doesn't have to be attractive, but that doesn't mean she can't be a dope ass character. Lots of male characters that are cool aren't 'beautiful' (Drahmin, Kabal, Onaga).

That's why I want Sheeva and Nitara to be in the game; because at least there's some hint of diversity in terms of physical attributes. D'Vorah's fine by me, because I think she was a refreshing take on the female character, and I actually like the new, hideous D'Vorah we saw.

I think it's fine for a character like Mileena, Jade, Skarlet or Kitana to dress a certain way. Not every female character should be dressed decently, I don't think that's really all that important. Women in MK games can have a sexual identity that they express in their clothing choices. It doesn't have to be vulgair or completely nonsensical, but if Jax can run around in a spandex pants with his torso fully exposed, then why is it so wrong for Mileena to look sexy? And why would it be wrong for people to want some sexy costumes, at least optional in-game..? Even female players like that stuff.

If you're ok with heads being kicked clean off and eyeballs exploding out of sockets, then some nudity really shouldn't bother you. I think there's actually an empowering element to it. Just like I wouldn't mind the females being physically stronger. It makes sense: they're fighters, they have to go up against expert martial artists, monsters and ninja characters. Real-world women fighters are muscular, but you don't really see that in MK females. You want petit females that are decently dressed; I want an old hag, a muscular savage, a half naked Jade, and a monstrous female character attached to the body of a giant tarantula. Equality ;)

Thank you. Can we dead this shit? It bothers me to no end that it's like

"Hyper-violence? Sure. TIDDIES? AWAY WITH YOU SATAN!"

How about we allow developers to share their vision. The only thing I want to change about any character is shitty balancing seeing as we should potentially be able to make our avatar as nekked as we like this time anyhow. If not, THAT is a real missed opportunity.

Shout out to DOA6 for the bait and switch. I don't even play DOA, but I'll be damned if I didn't have a negative reaction. It's not about what they're doing, it's about WHY and I wouldn't want a title to abandon one of their defining traits so some soft serve assholes can be happy (and not buy the fucking game anyway).

the only thing i really honestly care about

is for them adding more females. people care soooooooooooooooooooooo much on how they effing dress
it be nice if the roster for once was like 13 guys and 12 girls or whatever

Yeah i hate the faces and how they shit on their hair by chopping it shorter, but its NRS and they will never truly know how to program this

this may sound shallow, (sorry if it does i'm not that girl) that type of person, i don't need them to be hot cause i everyone is cute/sexy/hot in their own way, just tweak the faces a bit (just a tiny bit) and give the girls like Kitana the long hair she had before and stop making them shorter in every new game cause you can't make hair flow like it's natural/real hair flowing

This would only be acceptable in my opinion, if they truly treat women the same as men in the game. So a wide variety of types, bodies, ages, appearances, etc., and not just the same hot looking basic female design. You can't have male monster characters, creature characters, old characters, fat characters, big hulking brute characters, etc., and then create all female characters with basically the exact same body-plan. There's no difference between Mileena, Sonya, Sindel and Tanya: they're all inherently the same woman. Do a Ferra/Torr character where Torr is a female, or a big hulking brute of a Shokan woman, an old deprecate hag dressed in torn rags: not every female character has to have the perfect physique. This is more important to me, than costumes and the question of nudity is. So no, if half the roster is going to be female, then I'm against it, unless they actually apply TRUE equality, in all aspects of the game. Because equality nowadays doesn't mean that. To many people, equality has to do with rights and status. They don't want objectification, but strong, females who are heroic and strong and beautiful. But that's just one aspect of it, let's be honest about this shit.

And yeah, CGI hair in MK games is a problem. They avoid doing long wavy natural looking hair, because for some reason, the tech isn't there. So we get hoods, short hair, buns, shaved heads, and hats instead. It's a shame, but that seems to be a practical problem, and not a design choice.

yeah but i think if they do different type of females in their mind they think people won't buy their games
i don't mind if they do different type of bodies by all means it's cool sheeva was the tallest female but then i'm like she's the only one who was tall and even in mk9 she was still 'sexy' i think ed and his team thinks guys want the girls to be petite, not so muscular cause then you get them bitching about it cause other fighting games for the most part has girls being short or tall but have curvy bodies for most of them and they jiggle with every movement

and with Kitana's hair being made fun of in mk9 yeah they changed everything but you literally had sonya with a long braid in mkx then in mk11 she's wearing the same outfit and the game is 2 yrs after mkx or whatever and her hair is chopped off, if its 2 yrs after ok fine but if its right after then wth did she just during one of her missions go to a salon and chop it off

so i think they think all guys want (cause most guys play games) want the 'hot' body girls so they just keep pasting the bodies on each girl, i just want it to be a little bit fair just add more females give them cool outfits and cool fighting moves and see what the fans think of them

i don't know honestly NRS likes to be cookie cutters with their characters bodies

Terrible click bait thread

If you like sexy women you're a pig

If you like them covered up then you're a prude

TS is trying to label and device the comunity. TS is a POS KONFIRMED!!!!

'sup, Ron?

I guess this sums it all up. I simply think both sides of the argument need to shut up. Let the game be what it is, because at the end of the day, neither man nor woman is showing up to fight an evil sorcerer in their sexiest battle armor. They'd be more concerned with protecting everything down to their soul itself and who knows how they'll find the armor for that?

tl;dr Fantasy game is a fantasy and no one should care as much as they appear to.

In a REAL fight, it's all a distraction.

Those few seconds staring at your opponent's cleavage is just extra time for her to penetrate YOU in all the wrong places...

Females in mk11 are dogface ugly. They have been stripped of all their femininity and attractiveness, also they have been enriched with cultural marxism, feminism and sjw propaganda. Sonya looks like an old catlady. This is not the Kerri Hoskins kinda Sonya from 1995 which was my first childhood crush on. Such a disgrace what they did to her...
Jade (the so sexy Jade from the past) looks like a crackhead from Bronx with a hijab. Skarlet was also middle-easternized with an arab headskirt. Jacqui looks like Mike Tyson with a failed gender-transition surgery. i could go on and on but to put it simply, MK11 is woke af.

Don't forget to Tweet the actresses who provided face models for this game to let 'em know how you feel.

EDIT: While I was being sarcastic just to make a point, it occurs to me that it's possible you could be the sort of person who would actually do that. Please don't.

I made an account on here just to say that NR has my respect and love for sticking to their guns about their artistic direction. As a female MK fan (and I know i do not speak for all women), I am hugely surprised and humbly grateful that they choose to represent women in this way. I generally don't have an opinion about sexuality in video games (as I think sexy is fun), but the recent backlash and hostility are worrisome.

I've played MK since the first game, and up until mk9. I loved MK9 but the novelty really wore out for me as I only played female characters and I often found myself jealously looking at my male opponents and thinking...DAMN his armor looks so badass. Whereas mine was only being held up by a thread, Scorpion's gear looked truly scary and menacing. So although i bought the game because it was fun to live the "sexy assassin" fantasy, i was suffering from sexy fatigue. I wanted my female counterparts to have normie clothes too. But nope...everything was just giant breasts 95% exposed with just a patch covering the nipple.

Women are not always "sexy" and we don't want to be seen as only sex objects. All women (even the ones who wear bikinis ;) are multifaceted and multilayered, our worth is not tied to how small a dress we can squeeze into or how large our breasts are...even the most beautiful lingerie model wears regular clothes on a regular day.

Men have always dictated and shamed women for their clothing choices, it has been this way a century ago and it seems like the pendulum is swinging again. If you're a woman who isn't on board with the status quo you are automatically "ugly/trans/sjw/fat/jealous/muslim" etc. ...the hate is unreal. I wish i could say to these people: DONT WORRY...we did not forget to be sexy because of a game...we still remember.

I am happy they are doing this, finally I get to play the fantasy of a badass chick with equally badass clothing to match my badass personality (theoretically) ;)

The backlash is indeed worrisome, but luckily most of it is mostly because of "online anonimity and ego". Most of the guys so verbal about these things, most of the time don't dare to say/do such things in real life.
I like most of the skins. Only "problem" I have is with Sonya and Cassie. Not their skins in general, but lack of diversity in them. So I hope they add a bit variation to them, because I saw Jacqui Briggs isn't confined to the Special Forces outfits.

Me, I'm a bit bothered trans is being used as an insult. And on the other hand, I can't stop laughing with it if I see someone using it as an insult, seeing my own experience in real life. So people think transpeople are ugly, yet it seems to be common that men are whistling at me or checking me out. Not just noticed by myself, but by my friends or parents too). Funnily enough even when they are with their wife and/or children.
So when I see someone addressing transwomen as being ugly, I can only laugh because by my experience they are most of the time the first ones to drool over one without themselves knowing it.
Even funnier when these males that think every women needs to be sexy, aren't even sexy themselves.

I guess, just take comfort that although you mostly hear the loudest, there are enough males that don't sexualize women.
And I'm probably going to get backlash for this post aswell.

You are quite thoroughly propagandized and misinformed but this isn't the venue for debating you in depth on this. I'll just say this: after World War II the West mounted a massive propaganda campaign to distort things which employed the service of ex-Nazi propagandists. You can like it or not like it but it was because of the Red Army that Hitler didn't end up ruling Europe.

Stop giving obvious trolls attention. Ignore them. What's the point in continuing to go back and forth with somebody who's obviously doesn't care about partaking in a discussion as much as they crave attention?

There's one troll in particular that has had their share of feeding. Once they stop getting reactions they'll fade away. So giving them a stage to perform.
