Hold on hold on we haven't seen the whole roster yet. Besides this is a MK game in 2019 who knows if WB is going to try use this game as a platform to break into the new games as a service scheme.

They have known among community members on Discord but those members never revealed them because of various reprecussions. NRS went above and beyond to keep the roster secret after what happenned with Injustice 2, well someone still let it leak. I had the Cetrion and Kollector portrait on my phone but they got deleted when I linked them so the link got broken.

I dig the roster. Still need Rain, Smoke, Sindel...but I love this roster.

As someone else pointed out, a lot of characters in their pics are missing gear (Jade and Kabal's masks for instance) so likely Frosts hair is gear.

Also would like to point out that several people who are seemingly in the know are pointing towards several characters as potential DLC candidates; Spawn and Joker as comic themed guest characters, and Sindel, Nightwolf, Sheeva, Takeda, Fujin, Reiko, Li Mei and Sareena. That would leave room for 2 more guests and boom, your 2 packs of 6.

Well, finally the real roster leak revealed! Shinnok ends up being unlockable after story and story related spoilers that wont be mentioned but have already. Roster base seems to be 28 and increased like the stages have. Every single character has a base stage (Special forces share stages possibly). Mileena unlockable and Shang Tsung also seem legit so far as well as Fujin and/or Havik making DLC pack 1. (6 kharacter leak seems to be legit too). SHA also stands for SHAo Kahn but with shangs courtyard not showing a body like Goros lair did, it is looking pretty good. (Goros lair is Jades stage BTW, thats where she debuted right?) Shinnoks head level, special forces, etc stage changes like stages did in MK2, MK3, and MK9. Gear saved might affect characters images in the champ select screen as well. Now we just need to hope they have a DLC pack 2 and enough good DLCs in pack 1 like the ninjas, or sindel. The roster looks huge! possibly 40+ by the end of the games demise.

I wish Havik would be but someone said supposedly no new characters from Deception or Armageddon. Im guessing the list I posted above is probably most accurate. Li Mei and Sareena are iffy but the others are supposed to be solid.

Wow... Baraka, Kabal, Erron Black, Jade, Noob, Shang Tsung, Skarlet, DVorah, Shao Khan, Shinnok, Kotal Khan and Frost on the same roster? I’m liking that a LOT!

If Fujin and Havik turn out to be DLC, I’ll be so psyched. That sounds awesome. Really hoping Sareena makes it in as DLC, but I’m starting to lose hope.

I kinda feel bad for the devs, but ah well. Game’s coming out in less than two months and there’s still a ton we don’t know. No big deal.

Honestly at this point I think we should,sadly, expect most 3D era characters to be treated as background characters who will likely only be seen in endings or in story mode.

This roster is basically just MK9 and MKX with a few new characters. I was really hoping to see more from the 3D Era return than just Frost. And her hair was one of her iconic traits.

I think this seals the deal on how the Team views 3D Characters. RIP. Most of their move sets may have been unoriginal, but their stories had depth and I feel a second chance was all what some of them needed, at least for Havik and Fujin.

Also MK9? MK9 was practically MK Trilogy. This roster is basically MK1, a slice of MK2 with a smidge of MK3 and a helping of MKX.

Yeah I can't see them using 3D characters as DLC choices. We'll likely see more guest characters, MK9 characters, and one obscure character we haven't heard from in decades.

In the grand scheme of things? No. I wouldn't bother rereading it if I were you seeing how most of it leads really to nothing and a lot of what is established and elaborated on doesn't actually carry through to the games.

It might as well have taken place in an alternate timeline.

I think at this point with how inconsistent it was with the story of the game NRS are likely cherry picking what is and isn't canon from it rather than writing it all off. I'll bet one thing they will let stick are the characterization/bastardization and deaths of the 3D characters. Oh and the Cyber Lin Kuei because apparently screw those guys.
