Wow another disappointing roster, How NRS make their roster choices is completely bizarre to me, if this roster is final I can’t believe Rain and Smoke (or at least 1) hasn’t made it in yet we are getting; Kano, Dvorah, Jax, Jacqui and Shinnok? Seriously who has been asking for these guys??? And as far as story relevance goes I am sure none of these characters are so important and integral that they couldn’t just sit out as NPC/cameo to allow some actual requested fan favourites a roster spot! I mean I know shinnok isn’t entirely confirmed yet but come on how can be in two games in a row and no smoke?????

On a more positive note at least my fav Noob is getting a main roster spot this time round and he looks absolutely awesome!!!!

Well you can't have everybody. People need to accept it that a self thought ideal roster will never happen. The fanbaee is huge and the cast is big as well so there will always be people missing out.

Roster looks good to me. Kano looks amazing on that select screen. Hope Frost gets hair... I mean she will be like Kronika.

Well if NRS had paced themselves this go around and stayed consistent with their character roster in each game and exercise some restraint when it came to adding to it this wouldn't be a problem. But they just keep tying that noose with each and every game.

Yes I do mean I would hold them to including every character from MK9 to MKX and then pepper in 3 new characters AKA the Tekken/Soul Caliber (up to 4 at least) method.

Sounds a little demanding? The roster would be massive you say? Well, that's NRS's fault. Maybe that will teach them a lesson in moderation.

But they don't. They change movelists and animation every game ( save MKDA-MKA) Ed said he likes to change things to make them feel and look fresh Everytime. You don't like it but others do. Heck even Tekken and Soul Calibur cut a huge piece of their fan favorites and yet kept the same style/animation.

Just two things:

1) Leakers suck. One thing is hinting/joking about the characters that are in, another is posting pics and videos of them, even in a private chat (and no, the internet is never private, not even discord chats, deep and dark web)

Sites and magazines are (like Ign did with Jade and Johnny's reveals) paying a lot of greens in order to have exclusives, and those greens have the purpose of financing the development and the salaries before the actual distribution goes on.

Now that the roster has been leaked why the hell should they pay for something that is no longer exclusive?

2) To all people saying "who asked for Johnny? Who the hell wanted Cassie? Jacquie sucks! Etc"

Get out of your little, pathetic MK communities box Those characters have a larger audience recognition beyond the Mk subreddit or mk fan sites. Just because a vocal minority wants Fujin and Havik it doesn't mean that putting those two in the game is the best thing to do.

I'm just saying this is what has created this problem and at this point, this is the only way to fix it.

I saw that pic, and I'm starting to get concerned that things are getting less reliable now... so I'm filing the Shinnok pic under "grain of salt" for the time being.

There was also a pic of Cary Shang Tsung released which was quickly debunked as fake (using fan-art), and a pic of a big lava-moster-esque character that's seemingly out of left field, and no one can explain... around the same time as the Shinnok pic.

Feels like people are starting to make convincing fakes just to piggyback onto the original leak. BUT who knows, maybe the Shinnok pic is genuine. *Shrug* I have no idea. If he had a new body, that would explain why he'd be a secret (kind of a story plot twist similar to Cyber Sub-Zero)

All that said I am still REALLY hoping the info about Shang, Mileena & Shinnok being extra characters it true, because I'd love to have them.

EDIT: To re-enforce everything I just said, there's now also a fake mileena pic which was fairly obviously a photoshopped cosplayer, and quickly debunked as such.

mkx was too dark, mk11 is brighter- ugh why is sub and scorp have green and red shaders, don't pick that shader it's a choseleak comes out and shows up early concept of the select screen - people bitch

leak isn't fake its early concept, stop crying that sonya, johnny, jax are in plus cassie and jacqui all your doing with your whining is hurting your chances for the people you want, ED is a cockteaser you fans want so and so Ed sits there and purposely teases you with fujin and rain, hell Havik and Reiko died in the comics that's Ed's secret way of saying 'they died too bad not in this game' so i guess you will have to wait another 4-5 yrs

same with the cyborgs, Ed put triborg into mkx i think that's it for a while we might not see them until mk12, or 13 or 14 so whine all you want
this is the roster you hate the game ok don't buy it but hating it cause frost has no hair or cassie is in and not havik, also it's about time traveling of course mk1 and some of mk2 will be there they started off the games, be happy they added Baraka and Kabal

no where did they ever say that the kids would replace anyone, Johnny says someday you guys will be taking over for us old folks someday, he didn't say when he said someday and you think Ed will just remove Johnny and yet keep in Sub and Scorp? also anything can happen they can go back and forth and make it where they reboot the game again down the line it's their games they can add and not add who ever, just think about it though the more you hate on certain characters the more they will add them, the more you whine about a fav you want the more Ed will remove them

Huh, yeah I'm with Gillbob316 on this. That looks really sketchy. The body actually looks like a retextured version of his demon form from MKX. The texture quality also looks substantially lower than anything else we have seen in this game.

To address point A, I'd argue YOU started the shit here. The 4 or 5 posts directly preceding yours were completely unrelated to anything you said, and there was a relatively cordial discussion about whether or not the recent pic of Shinnok was fake happening... then you kicked the door to the thread in and posted SEVEN PARAGRAPHS that were all directed at no one specifically, and seemed to amount to just ranting about people bitching.

Who was bitching? We were discussing Shinnok getting his head welded back on. You came in all guns blazing, "You cry about this!" "You cry about that!" and I'm over here like, "Dude, who are you yelling at?"

Bitching at someone on the internet directly about a specific topic at hand is one thing. I do it quite a bit myself. Bitching randomly at an entire community of thousands of people about how much bitching they're doing... I will never understand. If you're picking a fight with thousands of many and varied people, OF COURSE some of them are going to do and say things that annoy you.

To address point B, I didn't write the comic strip, and no, it wasn't my direct intention to call you out as a 9-15 year old, that was just an unfortunate side effect. I'm sure you're older. The comic wasn't a critique of your age, so much as it was a way to somewhat jovially say: Use some friggin' punctuation!
