I doubt they're playable. They appear to be the same model from the neck down. Granted, they often look similar, but to me that says: "We didn't work as hard on these two" ... especially in a game where characters have more unique looks & customization than ever before.

Kronika has a fatality.

She levitates the opponent, then tears them apart with blue magic, organs falling to the ground, rewinds time to make the opponent whole again, tears them apart in a different away, rewinds time, tears them apart yet again in a different way, rewinds time, over and over.

I've actually been arguing with a guy on reddit about this all day. I'm like... 90% sure no one at NRS ever actually said that. Least of all in the last few months. It's just a conclusion the entire community jumped to, and then spread around, and it eventually mutated into something people took as fact through word of mouth...

When Rain, Baraka & Sindel weren't playable, there was a backlash, and a lot of people gave the developers flack about it. Around that time in 2016, Brian Chard (who doesn't even work for NRS anymore mind you) made the following tweet...

He implied Ed had been soured to the idea of doing them again in the future, but that's far from conclusive, and it was at a time when the future games had yet to even start development. And again, he doesn't even work there anymore today.

Flash forward 3 years to present day, and everyone's fuzzy memories from 3 years ago now mis-attribute that statement to Ed Boon, and the community is under the large misconception this was a fact a developer stated somewhere along the line. Even though there seems to be no evidence of it (beyond Chard's 3 year old tweet). People act as though it were a promise Boon made or something. I'm 90% sure Boon never even commented on the matter.

I've seen lots of people saying, "Boon lied!" and "NRS Promised no NPC fights! WTF!" today... and I'm pretty sure that's never been the case. Just gossip that got overblown. Like so many other things on the internet.

Now when those 2 are confirmed to be in the game and after watching Kronika's fatality I wonder, why do they design completely new characters (or bring back the old ones) give them all the moves, combos, special moves and even fatalities but not make them playable for us. It doesn't make any sense to me.
