No chance DLC characters will get outfits via these compatibility packs. The idea is to encourage those who didn't buy the DLC to download them so people who did can use them online. As much as I'd love some klassic Skarlet outfits, why would people who didn't get her want a klassic for her?

Would people be happier with Cyber-Sub if he got the unmasked Sub-Zero skin as his alt?
Sub-Zero already has a classic alt and CSZ needs one.
Some of the moves may look odd but they did it for the 2nd skins of Cyrax and Sektor. I'd love to see a Cyber alt for Smake and an Unmasked Alt for Cyber Sub-Zero.

Perhaps because the pack includes not one, but *two* costumes?
The chances of anyone using both costumes equally is incredibly small, anyway, and I could absolutely see them releasing MKII Skarlet alongside another character like Mileena.

Jax and Sonya is reaching.
One is a character in blue- blueberries are the only well-known fruit even *close* to blue, while there are quite a few choices for purple.

And the *outside* of a lime matches Jade's color rather well

You're right that Skarlet getting one would make Rain getting one more likely,
but I still expect all 7 UMK3 male ninja outfits as another $5 pack (it's just too easy to turn a buck that way for them to pass on it, IMO),
which would put Rain in with all the others people are guaranteed to have.

Basically that the ends in no way justify the means.

This has been debated to death already, but in essence:

build and test MK3 Sonya, and you get... MK3 Sonya.

build and test MKII Kitana, get *three* other characters for "free," from a production standpoint.

build and test UMK3 Scorpion, get *six* other characters for free.

Now, be honest with yourself- if you were running a business (the goal of which is to make money), which is going to look more attractive?
Spending $1000 to make MK3 Sonya, thus making only Sonya fans happy (and leaving three other vacant spots to fill), or spending $1000 to make MKII Kitana and spending not one more dime on developing these free DLC skins?

I've said it before, and I'll repeat myself again:
don't expect to see any one-off retros unless they end up charging us for them. It's *absolutely* a huge waste of money for them to develop something as time-consuming as, say, MK3 Sonya, MK3 Jax, MK1 Kano, and MK1 Johnny vs. MKII Kitana, Mileena, Jade, and Skarlet as a free giveaway.

Do I think all those characters deserve those outfits? Yes, I do.
Do I think WB feels the same way I do? No... I don't.

It's totally gonna be Jade and Kitana MKII outfits. Mileena doesn't get one because she has enough fuckin' clothes.
