I actually think that's a fantastic idea. You start as older Sub and finish as younger Sub, with a transition midway through while Noob is unlocked as an additional character. We don't yet know how the Story mode is going to work, so that's entirely feasible.

I'm more excited about the Living Forest having a stage fatality, but how? You uppercut them into the mouth of the trees???

Boon said (in an interview with Australian MK site Total MK) that stage fatalities were likely to only be in backgrounds that originally had pit fatalities.

Ok, I just get BAMBOOZLED at story loving people. Now, I love MK's story (with all the craziness behind it), but like I keep saying and will continue to say, all of you are acting like that story NEVER HAPPENED! I won't go into the whole "branching universes" when a timeline is altered because that's too much to talk about in itself.

Ok, Sub-Zero who did all this great stuff and had a great story, then a "restart" button was pushed to change the future. Now let's say older sub becomes Noob again, and younger sub is there but he doesn't decide to be the goodie that he is, then what? You'll be pissed? Well guess what, then they'll be telling the SAME STORY ALL OVER AGAIN IF THEY DIDN'T (if that's a change they choose to make)! Now I don't know about you but I'd rather have changes than a basic retelling of the same story that we already experienced.

Who's to say that the older brother won't become a "goodie" and have an even better story than his younger brother. Shit, I think it would be cool if Scorpion killed the younger Sub-Zero (and NOT TURN INTO NOOB, just stay DEAD). Who's to say that he won't die and just be an evil entity for the rest of the story.

All I'm saying is that you guys need to have an open mind about change. Yea, you like the story, I get it, but you also need to understand that sometimes a change is probably for the better.

I'll repeat, the "original" timeline is still UNCHANGED...it had to happen for Raiden to go back in the past. So you're favorite character still had a great story, and guess what he basically became a damn God, what else do you want him to do? Fall, somehow turn back human, do more shit, or become someone like Raiden (and we all love how his story is right?... ). Think about it for a second, HE BECAME A FUCKING GOD.

I thought the "original" Liu Kang was the sissy pacifist who didn't even have a fatality and just cartwheel kicked people to finish them off while "dickhead" Raiden would more likely be the dark Raiden that's been snobbishly ditching the earthrealm heroes, forging alliances with evil, and (thankfully) being a bit of an ass to Shujinko (if not outright killing him).

... And I see how none of that relates to the original Sub-Zero.

I would think everyone would like the fact that where seeing more older sub than younger, Maybe they will tell why he was bad to begin with.

I agree that we could still see younger Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot. As Boon said, if you liked a character from MK1-MK3, most likely you'll see them in the game and considering how Noob's pretty popular, I think we'll see him. Same goes for younger Sub-Zero. And hey, maybe we can see younger Sub-Zero unmasked as an alternate outfit as they go from MK1 to MK2 to MK3.

It would be cool to see what his unmasked outfit would look like.

I never was a fan of the Sub-Zero Jr. I always was kinda neutral about him. However I am a fan of the Sub-Zero Sr. so I kind of happy that he will appear in this game at least for some time. Maybe he even wouldn't be killed. And maybe they will keep both Zero brothers around, but just taking them in different directions without transformation stuff.
He. I think I want to much from the writers.

Also I am not big fan of the Noob Saibot, so if he will be omitted from this game I certainly wouldn't be sad. Though there is still the chance that somebody other good become a "Shadow Ninja".

Well anyway I am just glad, that Sub-Zero 1 had returned at least for a time being.

This game is gonna be a retelling of MK1-3, so that means we'll probly have every character from UMK3 inlcuded in this game. Which means we'll MOST LIKELY have Noob Saibot playable. Merge the 2 subzero slots into one playable character. Then merge the HumanSmoke and CyberSmoke slots (now 22 characters) import Raiden and Baraka, who were the only 2 fighters that didnt advance from MK2 to MK3 (back to 24 characters). This leaves room for 2 more characters. We all know that Boon said a few times that he is very fond of Quan Chi and Kenshi. But i would like to see 2 new characters. What do yall think? I might make this a new thread. LoL

He probably doesn't. He probably does something that causes Scorpion to be preoccupied with something so he doesn't get a chance to kill Sub-Zero.

There is one very solid reason Raiden might want the elder Sub-Zero alive: he witnessed that mere mortal defeat several of his fellow gods, decend into Netherealm and triumph over both Quan Chi and Shinnok. Raiden might feel Sub-Zero is the only mortal powerful (and ruthless) enough to do what is nessecary to defeat Shang Tsung and his fellow Outworld invaders.

Remember Boon stated Raiden didn't get an exact blueprint of what was going to happen in the future, just a rough vision. He might still not be aware of Liu Kang's hidden potential or that the younger Sub-Zero even exists. He just knows so real bad stuff is going to happen to happen and Outworld has something to do with it. That could drive him to desperate measures.

At this point i don't care if this is Older Sub-Zero... as long as the Young Sub-Zero doesn't become a cyborg or become a wraith name Noob Saibot. Thats dumb!
Noob Saibot is reserve for the original Sub-Zero.. I rather Noob Saibot vanish with diginity then spawn from Young Sub-Zero.

But deep down i really want this to be rumor... I believe Young Sub-Zero deserves and has earned the title of Sub-Zero which made him great. And i believe Older Sub-Zero should still become Noob Saibot. Because Noob Saibot made Older Sub-Zero great... he became stronger and became more than being a just a assasssin in the service of Shao Kahn or Shinnok. He finally broke free of them and persued his own ambition. Sure... he took out The Four Elemental Guardians and defeated Both Quan Chi and Shinnok. Im sure if wasn't easy i imagine he had to fight like hell to win. Imagine the damage he could do now as Noob Saibot... unlike Shinnok. Noob Saibot always comes back. He's that good.

Maybe Noob Saibot can be the Alternate costume of Older Sub-Zero
