Pretty cool.

Er...I'm actually a bit disappointed with this one. And this is a big surprise for me.

I seriously expected it to be more deep and serious. There's nothing about nothing (story wise) in this Vignette that we haven't seen written in the "new bios".

Sure they give us a glimpse of her "crazy love" towards her "father" Shao Kahn, but, this was mostly about "Mileena being a crazy beast" and not about "Mileena the crazy who also happens to be HUMAN".

The art is beautiful and it was fun to see that new Fatality done that way.

I'm happy to see it's NOT a 100% copy/paste of Kira's Fatality, but, still, it is a rather unoriginal and stupid idea to give her something that similar. There are a lot more creative ideas to do Mileena justice, and as cool and painful as that one looks, it's not the best.

Overal, I'm very disappointed with this Vignette. The fight scenes against Kitana were kind of dull. Where's the blood during the stabs? Sure it was fun to see Kitana getting owned by her evil clone, but, this was definitely not the best.

I guess this pretty much confirms Mileena was born/created when she was a "teen" and not as a "baby" along side "baby Kitana".

Where is the art and story featuring BOTH, Kitana and Mileena as a team? As sisters? As assisns?

Where is the story of Kahn's preference for one over the other?

Really disappointing.......and I love Mileena.

Now imagine a "chinese ninja warrior" remix with no vocals. Like a dark techno version of some sort for the new game.

Boring. The vocals make the song.

And Queve, they tone down the blood for trailers because trailers have to be approved for a wider audience or something. That's why a lot of the time they use Reptile as the victim too, because green blood is more acceptable than red.

Hmm thats interesting that each character might get a theme like Street Fighter

Well lets keep in mind that there's only so much they can fit into a minutes worth of video. So they aren't going to cover everything. I also like that they aren't trying to make us feel sorry for Mileena by saying "oh she's a product of a failed birth by Shang Tsung." I like enjoy the simple fact that she embraces her birth and without any morality she completely revels in her savagery.

Considering we get a very clear visual of Kitana's legs being ripped off in a very meaty/bloody way + Mileena eating someone as she pulls an arm out, I don't understand how that is supposed to work.

I'm so disappointed with this Vignette. I seriously expected a lot more depth and story.

I was hoping they'd do justice to Mileena as a character with this video. I really am starting to worry that all we are going to see from her in the cut-scenes is "I'm crazy. I'm evil. I'm sexy. I'm another monster. I have no realistic human emotions or feelings besides evil ones".

Sub-Zero's and Scorpion are both, by far, much better (and I love Mileena a billion times+infinite more).

The vignette was awesome! I'm becoming more and more impressed with this game! Did anybody notice the detail of how the Sai was stuck in Kitana's back and she then pulled it out to stab her in the neck. Details like that make this game for me!

In ALL of these vignettes, the story has either been non-existant or has been fudged with. Ex. Scorpion being killed by Sub-Zero as opposed to Quan Chi, Mileena's not really delving into a relationship with Kitana.

Nowhere in the story has the game ever pointed to Mileena ever being "human". Sure, she was jealous of Kitana but beyond that I haven't seen anything. We can infer that, sure, but it was never brought to a head. Nowhere in the game has Khan ever verbally preferred Kitana either. I think we're getting that from XiahouDun's fanfic, which is awesome but isn't from the game itself. If they WERE to include all of that about Mileena's character, it's really unrealistic to try and pack the whole of her complexity in that 50 second video. It was well done IMO.

Nice vigette. The music was really cool and seemede to fit Mileena perfectly.

Also I love have when it showed Mileena right after she was "Born" she still had the Tarkatan blades extended out, but I assume they slowly retracted and then her human skin took over from that point.

I really hope we get this for every character. It would be sweet if that was every characters bio.

This is pretty much what I was afraid of. I actually like Mileena, and there are interesting elements to her character and story. However, this vignette, along with her previous bios, make her out to be nothing more than a mindless, child-like killer. I also don't like that she has the Tarkatan blades from her arms, and I don't like how the Tarkatan eyes are now standard for her instead of being something that are sometimes shown. Her second fatality is too similar to one of Kira's MK: Deception fatalities. On the positive side, it's nice to have themes for each character, and this one does fit Mileena.

Overall, I'm just disappointed with how Mileena's character is being done. I dread that the same kind of treatment will be done for characters like Kung Lao. I can already see it happening.

WOW!!! Yeah that music is fucking sick! The baseline is dope! But Mileena Mileena oh girl you are awesome! I'm loving her more than Kitana! But her new fatality looks better than it sounded!

Agreed, I'm not really feeling this either. And from the looks of it. Her Gameplay sucks (from what i've been shown) IMO.

Was Mileena ever interesting before MK4 or MKD? Plus the tarkatan blades are a clue to her origins, I seriously doubt she actually has any.

Well what did you expect her to be? Professor of quantum physics at Harvard? She's always been a child-like killer - that's who she is.

Sice they released this today, I wonder what they have in store for us on fatality friday.

I keep watching it to see if I like it more......it's not working.

If only we knew FOR CERTAIN that Mileena is not going to be portrayed like a mindless robot in this game, I maybe wouldn't mind this poor video of her that doesn't do her ANY justice......but since we are not sure about what's going on, ugh, the suspense is kind of annoying.

I love Mileena, and I was seriously hoping for something deeper than this.



They aren't supposed to cover everything, but, they are supposed to cover the essentials, the most important parts of her character...and that's the problem:

They didn't.

If they managed what they managed to include in Sub-Zero's and Scorpion's videos, Mileena's should had been no different.

Why are people complaining? Vignettes aren't suppose to retell the character's entire story, it's more to introduce the character to the audience. It gave the necessary details like how she was born and where (Shang Tsung, Flesh Pits), her personality (Salvage, with no sense of conscience), reference to Shao Kahn being the only one to be able to control her, and her motives to enter the Mortal Kombat tournament (To kill her 'rival' Kitana)


There's no need to go into detail. There is story mode for that.

Anyways, I think all these vignettes are superb. It would be awesome if we got one for each character. I too (queve) was sorta disappointed with the story info that mileenas vignette revealed. I wanted to see her and Kitana working together or simply getting along for once.

Mileena, Mileena.. Oh man what can I say? She is full of personality and is growing as a character. I love her 2nd fatality, even tho I don't understand why the NRS don't come up with conpletetly new ideas for fatalitie. They can contact any of us if they need help because I'm sure we all have so many ideas lol. Anyways I kinda didn't enjoy watching my Edenian Princess being wopped like that. I hope somehow Kitana gets her own vignette aswell, so get some revenge against the man eater.

Great video tho! I would like Mileena to have some sort of conscience/thought process, but it looks as tho that she's "devoid of one"

It was a mixed bag. While it does have a great flow to it and I like the motion comic style effects, it doesn't really tell me anything that hasn't been said for the last fifteen plus years or so. Its a vignette. So it's a character bio, but I still get the feeling they'll explain more in the story about their relationship. You can only do so much with about a minute's worth of narration.

I'm kind of getting irritated though with each bio. "Mileena will butcher everyone and everything that gets in her way" "Sub-Zero will mercilessly kill anyone who gets in his way for revenge" "Scorpion will kill anyone...."
You noticing a pattern? Mortal Kombat is brutal and merciless, but the whole "Screw everyone and the world" makes for rather bland motivations.

Especially with characters like Mileena aiming for the generic "I am Emperor/Empress of Outworld, have a nice day" that MK's rehashed with damn near every villain ending since MKII. It does fit Mileena's character, but the others shouldn't come off as nihilistic sociopaths with a penchant for grunting and mindless slaughter. Slaughter that has purpose thats cool.

I hope you are 100% right, because so far, Mileena is not being portrayed to her full potential (story wise).

I'm a HUGE fan of psychotic, crazy, evil, sexual Mileena as long as they can balance that with her HUMAN part.

If this is not accomplished, well, what a disappointment.

I'm dying for story mode and I hope they don't mess up our beloved characters.

They have fixed the bios since then.....

Ok, but what is Mileena at this point in the story line? A clone of Kitana made from tarkatan and human parts through sorcery who serves as Shao Khan's lap dog and Kitana's rival. That's about as far as her story goes from MK2 until the very end of MK3 where she's killed by Kitana and brought back by Shinnok.
