I complain about people feeling like they didn't get their money's worth with the season pass, not about Freddy.

I also complain about shit character design. I believe I have a right to do so.

I complain about characters like Dairou, Kai, Darrius, Ashrah, Blaze, Onaga,Moloch, and Hotaru because they are shit to begin with. Whether that's in the form of design, powers, story, fatalities, or anything else that goes into an MK character.

And I find it almost ironic that the guest characters have been treated with more respect and care than half the fucking cast of Armageddon. That's what I complain about.

If you can't seem to grasp that, that's really not my problem.

Well, NRS just got at least one new sale based solely off this news. Not DLC sale, actual game sale.

My cousin is a huge horror movie buff but has never really played MK (or many fighting games at all). A month or so ago I told him about the Freddy/Jason rumor and he said he'd buy the game if it turned out true.
I texted him the news earlier and just got a text back (presumably after watching the trailer) saying "Buying it this weekend."

If I would have known it was Freddy (or any guest character) I wouldn't have bought the season pass. Yes, I'm basically getting him for "free" but I don't want to support having him in the game, thus I would have rather spent $15 on the other 3 rather than spend $15 on the other 3 plus a guest.

Lesson learned, if they do another season bout of DLC or have similar concept with the next game I'm doing one at a time.

Freddy Krueger? Really? At least pick someone who's somewhat culturally relevant. It's basically like putting Kevin Bacon in "Footloose" or Tom Cruise in "Top Gun" as guest characters.

"And our the 4th downloadable character is..a horror movie villain whose movies all sucked."

I don't care either way, but something of substance would have been nice.

I wasn't one of the people on here complaining because the DLC characters didn't speak or that Kitana was dressed like a hooker etc, yet I hate this choice for DLC and what, I'm not allowed to be disatisfied? I need to be told off for that?

Maybe I sound ungrateful, so let me clarify: I want my money back for the DLC character that I've already purchased but don't want. That's all. Everything else with this game is top notch and I couldn't be happier with it, though if I wasn't, if something bothered me, I'd like to think that I could come on to this message board and vent, just as MANY others have done, without someone like you coming along and cussing me out.



It's really on nobody's head but your own. But you're acting like the NRS team just bent you over a station wagon in a dark parking lot and raped you of all of your hard earned money, which they clearly didn't. But you act like this is some kind of terrible injustice. You're losing perspective on what you paid for, which was 3 confirmed MK characters, several classic new skins (despite those being free, something they could've charged. Hell Capcom has no problem with that) and a mystery 4th character.

You aren't happy with Freddy, fine. I get it. I told you your stance on not being happy with him is understandable, even if I still think it's retarded. But you're making it sound like the development team just screwed you out of 15 bucks, or that you didn't get your money's worth.

I'm not calling you an ungrateful MK fan, I'm calling you an ungrateful customer and yes, that gif was necessary in this case.


Alright, I'll put a stop to this now, since you're CLEARLY misreading me here.

I know it's on my head. I even said that I was the one that was dumb enough to buy the season pass before finding out who the 4th character was. I never said otherwise.

So no, I don't feel like I was raped or bent over or screwed out of my money or any other melodramatic image you can conjure up for what basically amounts to me being unhappy with ONE thing (just one!!) that they've done with this game.

I am VERY satisfied with this game. I don't know why I have to keep emphasizing that fact just so I can say one negative thing about it.

Maybe you're right a little though, about me being an ungrateful customer. I'll give you that, actually. I had a kneejerk reaction to the news and I came off somewhat badly. I put my money down, so I made my bed.

But ya know what? This is a message board full of passionate fans for this series, and we all complain a little from time to time. I'm sure you've said something, at some point about this series that wasn't completely positive. People shouldn't be told to fuck off just because they have an opinion or even if they come off badly in stating that opinion. On that, you were wrong.

There's still a compatibility pack to go with this too, so it could actually be a MK3 cyber skin for Smoke rather than a whole new character.

I haven't been this disappointed about a character since... Ever, really.
I'm no fan of the Nightmare on Elmstreet movies. I have always thought Freddy Krueger looked ridiculous and I have never thought he was scary. EVER! Not even when I saw the movies when I was a child. Incredibly sucky movies...

Ed Boon, I have never been as disappointed in you than I am now.
I think I will stick with the REAL MK characters...
