The Freddy Gameplay thread got moved to strategy (though Rain got to keep his thread in this forum for some reason?).

Anyways, HERE is the thread.

I've now updated it with all the special move names and commands from the Comic Con display. This includes the command for his first fatality.

Also, his P2 color is a black and white(or grayish) shirt.

I'm still puzzled as to why someone who is in a senior leadership position on this site would behave that way, it's very unbecoming, but that's just my two cents...


This character is clearly and slowly revealing everyone's immature side, and quite frankly I have no idea why any user wants to act that way. It's a video game, and people are making it sound like it's WW4 for some ungodly reason.

People are leaving this site due to the immaturity, people are showing sides I've never seen before. It's amazing to see how one character did all this.

I've seen it before, I've looked back on MKO's history, a lot of horrible things happened to this site where so many people got banned, insulted like it's no tomorrow, all over one pathetic little thing. And the outcome was never good. I would appreciate if this site doesn't have a horrible phase to go through, where we lose good members to horrible and shitty issues.

I swear to god you guys are like a whole different family, it would be horrible to see people who I appreciate seeing on here go away... Or I go away. Really, this is ridiculous, and something should be done before everything gets way too out of hand.


I felt alone in this observation, but it's good to see I'm not. I've only been here for a year, so this is my first taste of it, but things seem pretty bad right now.

I hope you stick around though, I think you're awesome too and although we don't interact too much I think you're among the nicest and most funny of the posters on this site. Before I joined, I would always laugh at the musings of the likes of you, Garlandor, Jaded, Queve etc. and some of the new faces like Spider and Harle are wonderful

It's past the point of unnecessary and I love this site and its users, but certain people need to get in gear and grow up.

Thanks for being mature and respectful, MKO needs people like that.

I totally disagree with you. They're not making a joke of the game. What they're doing is trying to draw a bigger crowd. A horror crowd at that.
Soul Caliber and Street Fighter has had guest characters consistently. Characters like Spawn, Link, Darth Vader, Yoda, and now Freddy Krueger. Don't get me started on Super Smash Bros. and Marvel vs Capcom.

Think about all the DLC MK stuff we got so far. Retro costumes, a rumor character, Rain! Now we're getting unmasked Sub-Zero and maybe Cyber-Smoke. NRS is really trying hard for all the MK fans. You need to recognize!

And from my understanding thats what this game was supposed to be about..nostalgia and fan service. I don't understand how Freddy plays into that and other MK characters do not. I don't remember an outpouring of desire for Freddy and I've been playing since MK1 was in arcades. When did this happen ? Everyone always talked about MK vs. Street Fighter or KI or other fighting game characters. Don't remember anyone saying Freddy. Maybe thats just around where I live though..


The idea for Freddy and Jason in a fighting game came about quite a while ago. Some Fans wanted them to be in a game so bad that they created one. It's a fan made game called TerrorDrome. Among others, Freddy and Jason were in the game. After WB bought out Midway, they announced MK9. Not long after, Freddy and Jason were taken out of the TerrorDrome game. WB owns Freddy and Jason. Then a rumor came along about them possibly in MK. Now here we are. Rumor to Reality ;)


Did not know that, thank you A horror character game sounds awesome !! Would love to see someone do a horror themed fighting game, dark like MK not anime like Darkstalkers. Classic movie monsters (Dracula, Werewolf etc.) vs new movie monsters ( Jason, Freddy, Pinhead etc.).

And this character shouldn't make this site go to hell like it's slowly turning. I know one thread won't turn this site into MKO's historic drive-by issue with a certain user becoming a mod and no one liking that (I like reading past threads, it's weird thing to do when you have absolutely nothing going on) but honestly, I feel like one thing might set that bad boy off.

The tension this thread builds makes a dramatic animal come to watch

What annoys me is people on the internet (not just this forum, but any forum, as I'll soon explain)...

Who are constantly talking about how dissapointed they are with the community of any given board... or how stupid and immature any given thread is... or how whiney and bitchey any given fanbase is...

As if this didn't happen on EVERY message board, with EVERY fanbase, for EVERY even remotely nerdy property in existance, be it movie, book, comic book, video game, telivision show, or any one of those things adapted into one of the others. (In fact adapting one of those things into another often doubles the potency.)

There is nothing uniquely wrong with this thread, topic or community of people that isn't inherantly similar to... 10 billion other threads on other internet forums...

I mean do any of you people play World of Warcraft? This thread is a goddamn thursday afternoon snoozefest compared to some of the ones that start up whenever they patch something in that people don't like.

It's the INTERNET people. This is what people do on the internet. We argue with people we disagree with, we look at porn, and we look up movie showtimes...

It's one of the three cornerstones.

@mos, there's no need for war. You're wrong. You're speaking about a section of fans that do not exist. The fans don't give a shit who a character is as long as they are fun and interesting to play. Kratos is above Kano and Shang Tsung on most used characters. Why? Because he is fun and interesting to play.

People don't like shit characters. People like good characters. THAT is why Freddy deserves to be in more than Dairou or Hsu Hao or Drahmin. Guest or not, Freddy looks fuckin' good. If fairweather fans can't look past their wounded pride and embrace another awesome member of an already awesome game, thats not NRS' problem.

Nope...on Gamefaqs they are going at it over paying for the same game twice. One side pissed the other saying it would cost more as DLC so shutup and don't buy it then. Nowhere near this heated though.

Furthermore, if you combined the amount of requests for Mega Man X, Mega Man Classic and Mega Man Volnutt... he damn near tripled everyone else.

I was personally a Classic backer. Screw X.

But yeah, I can't BELIEVE that NONE of them made it in...

It's strange, all the insults and the anger. I was mad too initially, but I never felt compelled to attack anyone that was happy he was in the game. Not sure where any of the attacking, on either side, came from.

Still, all the anger on both sides will die down soon enough, I'm sure. Freddy's here, and everyone will either love it, live with it, or avoid him altogether.

So no worries, I guess. The cool people like you, Subman, Temp, Casselman, Pred, Queve, Tony etc will hopefully be around long after the DLC winds down, the trolls leave to go play whatever else they play that's not MK and MK10 news begins it's long and painfully slow trickle.
