Thanks, dude. Really, this is all a call to arms. If we want to see more original MK content, we have to be more aggressive with the twitters and post as much on the forums as possible. It's a different crowd now, and the more popular MK gets, the more "lol u butthurt" posts we're going to read.

I'd like a Slow unblockable move, like he raises his leg and makes a small portal underneath his foot, Makes a portal over the opponent, and steps in the portal underneath him with his foot coming out the bigger one over the opponent and a giant version of his foot comes down stomping the opponent. it would be a tad slower than nightwolfs lighting and more predictable, but do good damage.

This character is clearly and slowly revealing everyone's immature side, and quite frankly I have no idea why any user wants to act that way. It's a video game, and people are making it sound like it's WW4 for some ungodly reason.

People are leaving this site due to the immaturity, people are showing sides I've never seen before. It's amazing to see how one character did all this.

I've seen it before, I've looked back on MKO's history, a lot of horrible things happened to this site where so many people got banned, insulted like it's no tomorrow, all over one pathetic little thing. And the outcome was never good. I would appreciate if this site doesn't have a horrible phase to go through, where we lose good members to horrible and shitty issues.

I swear to god you guys are like a whole different family, it would be horrible to see people who I appreciate seeing on here go away... Or I go away. Really, this is ridiculous, and something should be done before everything gets way too out of hand.

There are many users on this site who I would call veterans, but today has also showed me MKO has changed from having actual conversation on here to every response being "cool story bro".

I OWN Soul Calibur 4. Beat it with every character. Unlocked all the characters. Was the 3rd game I ever bought for my 360... have 32/50 achievements unlocked. The only games I owned for the first few months were Rumble Roses XX, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and that... so I played it a fair bit.

That said...

I am not joking or exagerrating in the least: I couldn't tell you one damn character's name in that game who isn't Darth Vader, Yoda or Starkiller. None of them stuck with me... and I really don't have any vivid memories of the game beyond "Medievalesque Anime Characters with Weapons" I *think* (I THINK) The juggy chick's name is Ivy... and I'm not even 100% sure on that.

And every Soul Calibur game before that, I never played. Though I AM aware that Heihachi, Link and Spawn were in them... because frankly, that's the only information about the games that ever reached me as someone outside the fandom.

And that's how I, and other people outside Soul Calibur fandom, think of the franchise. "That one with the weapons and the guest characters" I played the hell out of 4, and that's the majority of the impression it left on me. And frankly, all I ever knew about the franchise before playing 4.

Now, MK has a -bit- more of a history than Soul Calibur, to the point where Scorpion, Sub-Zero and maybe Raiden have reached a "memorable" status to people outside its fandom...

The rest, no one cares about. Be they from MK3, MK4 or MKDA.

That said, I am... positive... that 10 years from now, this game will be remembered by everyone outside this board (ya'know, the kind of people who aren't even aware this game is a reboot) as "The one with Kratos and Freddy Krueger in it"

So anyway yeah, Soul Calibur is judged on its guest characters and so shall this game be.

OH... another example...

I have a buddy who doesn't care half as much about this franchise as me... and I never once saw him show a 10th as much interest in it before the announced Kratos was a character. (And that still wasn't even enough for him to buy the game.)

I'm not saying that Freddy is a bad idea for NRS from a financial or publicity point of view. He's a great idea in that regard.

But he is ABSOLUTELY one of the only things the general public will ever know about or remember about this game. Which is a shame, because it really is an awesome game, even without him and Kratos.

Freddy looks great. He will be my new main. :)

I only have one thing to say: I loved this trailer, Freddy is going to be fantastic in this game!

Plus... he is optional... don't like him? Don't get him.

I wasn't really fond of Kratos in the beggining but I grew to like him over time. I think Freddy will be the same story... I don't know if I'll use him that much, but it's going to be fun, and frankly... MK has ninjas vs hellspawns vs almost naked women vs shaolins vs reptilians vs gods vs vampires vs cyborgs vs whatever the hell you can think... it's already a fucked up universe (in a very good way, which I love!!). One more demon in the game isn't going to suddenly make it stranger than it already is...

The idea for Freddy and Jason in a fighting game came about quite a while ago. Some Fans wanted them to be in a game so bad that they created one. It's a fan made game called TerrorDrome. Among others, Freddy and Jason were in the game. After WB bought out Midway, they announced MK9. Not long after, Freddy and Jason were taken out of the TerrorDrome game. WB owns Freddy and Jason. Then a rumor came along about them possibly in MK. Now here we are. Rumor to Reality ;)

I haven't read any previous comments in this thread, but here's my opinion.

I don't mind guest characters, as long as I get my MK ones. I'd rather have had an actual mk character, but whatever. I love Freddy.

That being said, this Freddy sucks. I didn't mind the NOES remake, but Freddy looked so stupid in that movie. It kept taking me out of the film.

If you're going to give us Freddy Krueger, at least give us FREDDY KRUEGER! That means ROBERT ENGLUND. Not Jackie Earl Haley.

because it's getting ignored. And serious, open-minded discussion being ignored over a thread full of insults and bitching is never good.

I was disappointed and a bit frustrated initially that an MK character that I liked didn't make it in instead. Then there was conflict, but now I don't even care about any of that.

I've seen more insults hurled at people in this thread than I think I've ever seen in one thread before.

People complaining about Freddy's inclusion with far too much anger and melodramatics, those that wanted Freddy that chose to rub it in, people making fun of those that are complaining, those that seem to revel in the conflect, and those that just seem angry in general, those that revel in being "above it all" and those that want to start fights. There's plenty of blame to go around.

For my part, I apologize to anyone I may have angered, and sorry to anyone that was yelled at or degraded for any reason on here. This whole thing was kinda messed up. But I guess that's what happens when you have a passionate fanbase and something that angers some people alot and not others.

At the end of the day, it's really just a game. No reason to get so whiny, or angry, or superior. People can love this move or hate it without berating each other about it.

You're right. The conversation itself is starting to disappear. It's no longer, "I think your idea is wrong, so I'm going to give X reasons why." Now it's just, "you have attacked a view I endorse, so I'm going to say whatever it takes to make you angry and frustrated." It's spite, plain and simple.
