I agree something seems off to me. I am very skeptical or have ideas about the whole thing. I am wondering if each character has a specific place on the select screen or if they are placed in as you unlock them. I also realize that the hover highlighter for player selection goes away after selecting the character so explain why the arrows are still highlighted on this new roster image...and not only one side is highlighted but both sides are.

Hmmm... Waaay better than that select screen shot. I'm not in love, but it's a grower. At first glance, I was all "meh," surprisingly not because of the hair. His hair actually looks a hell of a lot better. I need some time to sit on the costume.
