OK, so, I have not read this whole thread yet, but, from the very small and bad quality pictures I saw I will say this:

1) Jade looks very beautiful and serene.

2) Her hairstyle/bangs are not similar to Sonya's so that's very good. I like the way they did her hair (though I wish they left the "bangs covering the eye: to a minimum...it fits Sonya and Mileena the best).

3) Her costume (from the little I saw) is...disappointing. I'm sorry. I only saw Mileena's body, Mileena's top, and Kitana in everything else without the cloth loin.

How very disappointing. The 3 female ninjas seem to share the same wardrobe with just a few little tweaks here and there instead of the more original looks they got in MKD.

I also hope Jade's skin color is darker than that. I want them to be faithful/loyal to Jade's skin color from the past.

Overall: Her hair and face are beautiful and I'm super happy to see her back, but, (as far as I can tell by those low quality pics) her costume is just as uninspired and uncreative as Kitana's. Lame.

Kitana's new costume is awesome, there are a few things I would change, but they finally made Kitana look how she should look. But how would you want them to look? Kitana, Mileena, and Jade? I think NRS has done a great job reinventing their looks but keeping them reminiscent of their classic costumes.

This being a retelling of the MK1/Mk3 era, I like how the 3 female ninjas all have the UMK3 look going on, but with enough differences.

I like Mileena's costume well enough (the bare back/tiny suspenders thing going in in the middle of it is weird, but I can live with it) and I think Jade looks excellent, I'm a big fan of her rocking the most UMK3-esque look of the girl ninjas, her UMK3-themed look was my favorite costume in MKD. I wish I could see her arms and legs, though. I hope she still has the little garter belts connecting her costume to her boots like in Deception.

But I think the bare midriff doesn't suit Kitana much, it makes her look less like either a ninja or a princess and more like a slave girl or dancer or something.

I also don't like that her colors are blue and silver instead of blue and black like usual, and I wish either she or Jade had their hair in a bun. In general, I'd have designed something that looked more like her Shaolin Monks outfit for Kitana. That was her best look to date.
The design of her fans isn't as cool as it was in DA and Armageddon either. The blades looked less cartoony and more dangerous and the paper in between them had a pattern on it, the new ones are too plain.

Jade looks awesome, I am quite excited that my favourite female character is now in the game. Goro is huge and I cannot wait to fight him again, it will be epic. The Rooftop and Goro's Lair are amazing, the Rooftop especially. Oh also @MKBooted and @LucaTurilli; You have turned some great news after a bleak month, into a 4/5 page bickering on the topic of racism. Shut Up, Calm Down and GROW UP!

The posts about Goro, Jade and the arenas, the topics about Kratos (again) the idiotic topics of racism and one person got banned for a day. Just about sums it up.

Yes, we're back to MKT, but then why the hell do the male ninjas get to look distinctive and the females don't?

Literally, Kitana and Jade... you can swap the green and blue and there would be nothing you could use to tell them apart.

I hope she'll at least have great moves and kick some serious ass to compensate.

I'm HAPPY she will be initial and not DLC. Got my fingers crossed in hope for better alternates for the females (except Sindel's. I can live with watch she got. She looks ferocious.)

If "sexual" is the look they're going with for all the females, I'm at least proud to say Sindel is the only one that looks like she'd be dominant in bed, not submissive like the rest of them. Power to the Queen!

PS: Sonya looks FIERCE in her pictures and her fighting stance. Not 'cause she's my fave or anything, but, she looks intimidating. Gotta love a tough blond.

Nah it's cool I just didn't want someone to see your post and their knee-jerk- reaction would be to start more shit, because a peaceful thread is a happy thread.

Hmmm. There are similarities, but the differences are there too. Jade more or less seems to be wearing a one-piece. Stitching's lower than on Kitana's bustier and not as much of it is present. Gloves are shorter than Mileena's, whereas Kitana wears gauntlets but no gloves. A lot of gold accessories and lining. Boots appear to be mostly black.

Once we put all three of them side by side, I'm sure the effect will be similar to their Shaolin Monks appearance - similar overall style, but fundamental differences. I'll wait until we have a full detailed render or drawing until I feel comfortable saying more, but I'm not particularly opposed to them looking a little similar anyway.

Yeah, unlike Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile, Kitana, Mileena, and Jade actually SHOULD look very similar because they are partners doing the same job for the same army, all three of them are Kahn's assassin-girls, there should be some element of uniformity to their, y'know, uniforms, albeit they can be personalized and not exactly identical.

I still think Jade looks flawless but until I see a high quality picture of her I won't make any further judgement!

If it makes anybody feel any better, they're most assuredly going to get the same classic costume treatment the male ninjas are getting.

I personally don't mind Mileena's costume much. I can accept it reflects an aspect of her character and it's fitting in some ways. The problem is that if that's the case then we aren't going to want Kitana and Jade to match Mileena because it makes no sense for them.

At the same time, though, Mileena is supposed to be "fake Kitana" so at least those two should share some kind of theme. You can't reconcile the three girls with each other if Mileena is going to dress like a superslut. That screws up the uniformity.

Jade and Goro? Nice.

Jade had one of the best designs in the MKD and I am glad that they, at least partially, sticked to it. It's kind of strange to see her with different face and skin colour than in the MKD, but this is NRS and they seemingly prefer to change character faces, and sometimes even races, with each new appearance instead of sticking to the one constant face for the character.
So far costume wise, from what could have been seen Jade looks the best of all three female ninjas. It's not stupid / uncreative like Millena's design and not uninspired like Kitana's. I woder will she have her Bo back?

As for Goro he is BIG. Good thing. I wonder how much chances Kintaro and Sheeva to appear in this game?

And I hope Goro will be playable, some sort of super unlockable. Or maybe they'll make DLC that unlocks him few months later after release of the game.

There are ways. For instance, here's my own attempt at the matter of making them look "the same, yet different", where they're wearing similar uniforms yet Kitana is modest and Mileena is slutty.

I like that a lot, actually. I guess that's the best way to do it. Figure that Kahn gave them all the same outfit but due to her psychosis, insecurity over her face, or whatnot, Mileena decides to modify it to stand out more. Like Will Smith with his technicolor school blazer in Fresh Prince.

Of course your version makes Mileena look like a nun when compared to her official costume. If they insist on going with literally the bare minimum that makes the issue a bit harder to solve. Is there even enough of a costume there to come up with a theme? Unless we go with Mileena being so over the top about it that she tears off nearly everything, leaving just enough fabric left over to not be naked.

I should do submit my fanart at some point... But regardless, I don't have a problem with the current costumes. Perhaps storyline wise Kitana is more princess than assassin as a result of finding out who she is? Maybe she has to go along with the princess charade while having moral qualms with her assassin background? Who knows. :-p
