I don't romanticize the arcade days like most fans do. I don't even like joysticks. I stuck to the home consoles.
The day after the Human Smoke UMK3 code got found, I went to the arcade, performed the input, and I remember the guy looking at my hands as he copied my movements (He had Cyrax).
He had no idea what the hell was happening until Smoke changed and I rocked him unexpectedly. Some things are fun because they're hidden, I think. But yeah, that ain't coming back.

Wait, so that Gargoyle throne is Goro's? I thought it looked exactly like an update of the one from Kahn's Kave in UMK3.
Though perhaps they used the Kahn's Kave design to sort of combine the two stages like as an homage so they wouldn't have to really put Kahn's Kave in the game.

LOL, haven't you noticed how most famous black people (example: Beyonce & Keri Hilson) have lighter skin as they get older. It's not a serious term so no one should be getting their panties in a bunch. I always figured Jade was more Brazlian tbh.

I'm torn on the issue. Back then even if it was somewhat annoying at the time, thinking back on it there was something special about the playground conversations and arcade mythos surrounding the hidden shit. There were no websites. Word of mouth and magazines made learning stuff part of the adventure. I do miss those days.
But at the same time those days are a relic and they're not coming back. Now if they don't list the commands in-game all that does is add an extra annoyance of going to GameFAQs and writing stuff down. It won't bring back the word of mouth stuff. It'll just make an extra trip to the web necessary.
I'd be more for hiding stuff if it meant the return of all those fun things. It wasn't fun because things were hidden. It was fun because those things being hidden was a conversation starter and something of a scavenger hunt. But these days if you hide something you aren't bringing any of the actual fun stuff back. You're just hiding stuff so people will read a FAQ.

Simple solution: don't go to GameFAQs. I won't be.
I'm sick and tired of the MK series being slowly sapped of unlockables. The last time I actually enjoyed trying to unlock everything was Deadly Alliance, and that's only because the list of unlockables was massive. That, and we actually had those super secret characters that everyone has clamored about over the years. Deception fooled everyone in terms of secrets, because 90% of us on this site were convinced that there was a super secret character and none was ever found, and Armageddon's unlockables were pathetic. In short, I really, really hope that the fatalities aren't in the game's move lists. To me, that greatly reduces the replay value. I want to feel accomplished when I figure out a fatality, even if it's by accident. I don't want it handed to me on a silver platter like I'm a 4 year old. The iOS version of UMK3 has the fatalities in the move lists and it annoys me. I don't want to be babied.
Like ReverendBurn (of YouTube fame) said regarding Activision's handling of Call of Duty and what he thinks of Black Ops: "When you listen to whiny little bitches, you get a game made for whiny little bitches." NRS would be wise to make us figure out the finishers and nix any idea of a fatality practice mode, because that too cheapens the whole experience.
Guys, the game is rated M for mature, so I think it's time to act like the rating and once again prepare to get our hands dirty for another dig through a MK game.

LOL that's what I thought it meant! I agree. Beyonce used to be brown. Now she looks like butter. I never really considered Keri Hilson black though... Regardless, Jade looks awesome.
To the people talking about the 360 dpad the new updated controller that comes with the play and charge kid, the one with the twisting Dpad is much improved. I played MKvDCU on it and didn't miss one move, I was able to pull off the "fatalities" without a problem but I couldn't on the old one. I really would get this controller if I was a fighting game fan with a 360. It costs more than a normal controller but u get a recharging cable and rechargeable batteries with it too so it makes it worth it.
