Have any of you played Soul Calibur 3? If so, you are probably acquainted with the idea of having guest characters appear in fighting games. But although Lord Vader and Yoda seemed way too much out of place, I think Kratos is the best choice out of any other franchises.

Indeed. He seems extremely balanced and tame in my opinion compared to all the junk you can do with him in his 2D fight against Zues in GOW3. Not posting that video because of the spoilers.

Ermac looks a lot like havik to me. Maybe it is actually an alt for Noob and not ermac lol. You never see him use any moves so who knows!

Isn't there a stage fatality on kratos' stage. If there is do you think he just throws them in the flame of olympus in th background?

His X-Ray is cool just simply because it features elements from the GoW games (such as that lion Hercules thing).

But yeah, it is (overall) not as impressive as others. Still, a very cool decent X-Ray that fits the character and manages well on its own.

He looks fun to play with, but im not really impressed by his combos.

Also i dont think he wil be that overpowerd, sure, he looks brutal, but thats what the video is for. His stage is pretty awesome, I wonder if it has a stage fatality.

IDK. I played about 4000 matches online and I didn't find the StarWars characters were too terribly broken. Yoda was super irritating, and yes, his stature "broke" the fighting engine, but I wouldn't call him so overpowered that he was broken. Now Hilde's doom combo and Algol's bubble shield, that's broken.

And I didn't think of the clone characters. I guess I just considered them more as examples of the CAS feature. Every custom character though was a clone. I thought that was a good idea, because it kept the game balanced. I just wish they'd have added a few extra fighting styles like they did in 3. Actually, if 3 would have just had 4's superior graphics and fighting engine, I would probably still be playing it. I hope 5 follows it's path, rather than being a sequel to 4.

You mean 4, and yes, I may have played it a little. I agree Kratos fits better than most other characters would, but he still doesn't belong and I'd rather just have a pure MK. If xbox gets a really awesome game mode, I'm gonna be super pissed.

Honestly, him using weapons all the time feels so out of place when you look at all the MK characters. It's like I'm watching Soul Calibur vs. Mortal Kombat.

Even though his ass is getting kicked, Ermac stole the show for me. The costume is neat.

i bet there will be alot more scorpions online than kratos. we might run into him alot when the game comes out, but it should be ok after a while.

Not really a fan of his X-ray. It just doesn't look good.

Ermac's alternate looks very cool, he looks even more like a mystic in it, but I would have rolled with his MKD alternate costume, I thought that was sweet.


Shao Kahn's pet is delightful, makes me think of Motaro for some odd reason. I really like the throne room.


The Kratos' level is fancy, nice that they went with the Zeus temple or is it called Mt. Olympus?
