It probably didn't take long to program kratos. the only things they had to do was give him a move set and mocap his fighting style. As for the character model. it was probably provided by sony santa monica.

Remember when Ed said the decision to put certain characters into the game was helped him seeing certain characters names over and over again. so for him to take a slot of another character sounds wierd.

he also listens to casual gamers too. Where do you think kratos came out of nowhere from. i like both games so it really doesn't bother me.

No hate for Kratos, since he is just an "extra" to PS3, guest, and he has not part in main story mode, so, he is just one character more in the screen to choose when playing 1 vs 1 or tag-team online .....

His moves set is cool, he is just doing his job : fighting and being badass, hehe. Hope that all fan boy of GOW, being attracted by Kratos presence, ends enjoying the game in general, and contribute to make propaganda for the game, and this, helping to rising up the sales, hehe !!

yo dude, nice catch on that screen shot. I tried like 50 times to stop right there to see his mask. fucking sick.

after getting a nice look at his outfit in certain frames, i am really impressed. i far, far prefer his 2nd outfit to his main. both are cool, no doubt, but the leather hood/mask and skirt make him look more like a sorcerer, which fits better considering his many magical abilities. i really like that his belt is the same from his mkd outfit with the 2 crescents for the belt buckle. here is another pic.

Honestly I'd buy this game even if Harry Potter was in it. I don't care who the fuck they add because I will probably only play as them once through arcade mode and then be done with them. Their addition isn't going to take away from my experience. I would love it if Rain was in instead of Kratos. But he will be DLC for sure so I'll be fine. Bitching about it isn't going to change anything. Boon is not going to read your posts and then decide Kratos was a bad idea and take him out of the game. So get over it. Fighting games are probably the least popular type of game, unfortunately. So most of them are adding guests from popular games and franchises to sell more. I wish that wasn't the way it was but it is. I deal. I though MKvsDC was a dumbass idea. I still bought it because I wanted to support MK. I'm just glad that this time it's only one character, and one that I am a fan of as well. Instead of complaining so much you should think about all the stuff you do like about the game. If you can't think of anything you should not buy it, stop playing and stop filling up the forums with all your hate.

Kratos looks really kick ass. Too bad I dont have a PS3.

Anyhoo, I am super duper impressed with the backgrounds. So much depth and beauty.

Just beat MK vs. DC in one sitting (I know nothing to brag about). I'll be moving on the MKA tomorrow.

When I saw where they were fighting I had a nerdgasm because when I was playing on that level in GOW3 I was think "this is like mortal kombat, I wonder if Kratos gets to do a fatality on zues?".

I'm in awe by the amount of hate that this whole situation has inspired. I don't even think people were this pissed for mk vs dc(and people were ULTRA pissed about that). There's nothing anyone will say either way to derail the hate train, so I'll just throw in my two cents...

First off, I get the concern, but this is literally the FIRST bit we've seen of Kratos since he was announced in December. I seriously doubt he's gonna be pushed to the fore front of marketing(I didn't see him one time in the official MK advert. that was just displayed on this very site...YESTERDAY).

Second. Noob Saibot gets a gameplay trailer, looking a bit more powerful than a good number of the cast shown so far. What do we hear? " NOOBS A BEAST", or, "He looks so fun to play as". Kratos gets pretty much the same treatment(and admittedly looks above par) and what's the first thing we hear? "BROKEN!". I get it, it's the hate you feel for the situation, and not necessarily what you've seen, but for fucks sake, be honest about it. Don't short change the guys that are trying to make this game as best as they can, and accuse them of throwing an untested character into the mix for the sake of some extra dough.

Once again, I get where everyone is coming from. A few years ago, I'd have probably been ranting against Kratos right along side everybody else. Maybe seeing the good things that came from MK vs DC (Most important being, MK picked up by a company who actually respects the property and wants it to be the best it can be) has mellowed me out to the prospects of it all. I honestly think that Boon and Co. thought this would be a cool extra for ps3 owners. But MK fans being the "passionate" bunch they are, can do nothing but piss in the wind, cry, bitch, and moan.

Rant over. Take from it what you will. At the end of the day, I would just hope you'd all take Kratos' inclusion for what it is, grow up, and move on.

As far as the video itself. It came together pretty nicely. Some cool reveals. Kahn's throne room, and Alt. Ermac look amazing. A stage fatality using Kahn's..."pet" could be awesome.

As for Kratos, it's obvious the MK team has a lot of respect for GOW(Kratos), and really worked hard to make sure he gelled well with the MK format. Interesting(and cool) to see that they actually included a QTE for Kratos. Mount Olympus looks awesome, and Boon's promise that it apparently has one of the most elaborate stage fatalties ever, could prove very interesting.

All in all, I'm damn excited for this game...Kratos or no Kratos, this is going to be an amazing effort from NRS. Just a couple years ago, we didn't even know if there was going to be another Mortal Kombat, now, it looks like we're being treated to one of the best.
