any1 sayin they need 2 balance him, im sorry but i dnt see it happening, i think he is intentionally overpowered bcuz if ne1 knos the gow series they have seen the monsters hes fought so honestly i love all the mk characters as much as ne1 but scorpion would never stand a chance against kratos let alone characters such as cage nd stryker so im all 4 kratos bein overpowered it just make sense, also he should just not be selectable for online play so kno1 spams him

Well, this isn't God of War, this is Mortal Kombat, and so Kratos needs to fit the game and not the game fitting Kratos. He's the guest, not the host.

It doesn't make sense for any character to be overpowered in a fighting game.

Broken?! Really?! As in the words of Shao Kahn: "Don't make me laugh!". Can we include other fighters in the list then? If "overpowered" moves are "broken", how about Noob's cloud stuff. If I recall well, you couldn't block it and you were vulnerable to everything. Only thing you could do was jump away, avoid and pray to God you succeeded at it.
And I have yet to hear a valid reason why Kratos wouldn't fit. I wasn't happy about guest characters either. MKvsDC left a bad taste of it. But I'm glad that of all people, they chose Kratos. GoW games got there inspiration partially from MK and MK in his turn also got inspired again by GoW games. They fit each other just great.
This gameplay footage actually did the opposite for me. Just like the Raiden gameplay, it gave me a "meh" feeling.

And really, do we need to hear those remarks about Kratos every time. They are getting real old. Allways the same excuses why he shouldn't be in.
And complaining about him being chosen online, djeez. You know what I hate online? People who always choose the same character to play with. I don't like to play agains such people, but I have the option to ask them to change a bit or to disconnect. You got the same choice.
And nobody is less of a MK fan if he/she accepts Kratos.

though I'm getting the xbox version, Kratos does look true to himself and is a good match for the MK universe. I'll have a bit of regret in not being able to play him, but all the other features in the game should keep me busy.

and LOL @ people complaining about balancing issues. It's pretty easy to accuse certain characters of being unbalanced, etc., but it's a fact of life for any fighting game, whether it's Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, MK, etc. From what I've seen, Kratos looks unbalanced, but unless you've played a match against him, it's just speculation. Imo, he doesn't look like he's any stronger than other characters. It's just that his moves are very stylized & flashy so he LOOKS unbalanced. Any character can do big damage if it's in the right hands and in knowing the capabilities of what they're going up against.

I've beaten many good Sentinel players in MVC3 using low-stamina characters like Amaterasu & Zero but then again, I know what the Sent users do and how they handle that character, so I work around it. There were also a lot of noob Ken players in SF4, but it wasn't that he was unbalanced, it was because he was noob friendly and they would spam for dear life.

All in all, I think we can all agree that there WILL be spammers in this game, and it won't matter who it is they choose.

Rockt, everything you said could be pplied to harry potter. He doesn't take anything awa, he only adds something, and he would sell literaly millions of copies. Every news network on EARTH would be talking about mk. So you don't like him cuz he's not from an m rated game. So what. That reason is no better than him not belonging in an mk game cuz he's not an mk character, it's just different.
So when you understand why you don't want harry potter, mybe then you will understand why I wish they would just knock it off wth guest chars altogether.

Kratos has some impressive moves alright. Would've been nice to own a ps3. Maybe in the future.

That button feature for his moves is probably character specific to him, in God of War he does that to finish off or perform certain pre-created combos at 1:27 in the video
