As for the topic at hand, the majority of people who play Mortal Kombat games are heterosexual males, many who have an issue with gays. Whether you make the character gay or not, the sexualizing of male characters would make those players uncomfortable. That is why most of the women in this game are practically naked and none of the men are. It has nothing to do with the female form being innately more beautiful (because it isn't) or story/character reasons. NRS knows who it's audience is and what they like/don't like.

We also live in a culture that frequently oversexualizes women and shows women naked in film much more than it does men. Even those MK fans that don't like the MK females being practically naked aren't really shocked by it because it isn't that far outside the realm of what we see in other media.

I think Kitana and company look ridiculous so adding naked ninjas wouldn't change my opinion of the costumes in this game. It will never happen though.

The fact that they see them as objects kinda works in my favor.... It's because they are beautiful and symmetrical, well their symmetry is more apparent (symmetry is one of the most important aspects of human attraction). People will take things for face value if that's all they are interested in.

People are able to recognize attractive men for sure. I can tell you right now that Ryan Reynolds is hot. I can also tell you that billions of dollars is spent on this sort of research on a likely annual basis, and the fact of the matter is that in advertising, a beautiful woman will sell more than a beautiful man, from Corvettes to Windex. Ever notice the girls at car shows? Yet, we'd all touch the women in the Swiffer commercials (well I would...)? Do I have statistical proof? No but it seems pretty logical.

If it were reverse, and men were glorified as much as women for their beauty, I'm pretty sure it's something that would be prevalent in not only this game, but many. We would have seen Solid Snake crawling through heating ducts in a thong, thus creating a few "Solid Snakes" of it's own from the imagery if a few of the people in here saw it. If that's what they are into, that's awesome. I have lots of gay friends. But I would still bet my life that a beautiful woman, to most of the world, would be considered more of a sex symbol than a man, even though, they too can be beautiful.

Until this past week, I myself had fewer than 30 "visits" to the site.
After 5 days at my dad's house, it's almost up to 100.

It's obvious that the visit counter is flawed and cheats some people (myself included) out of the visits it gives others.

If I were gaining this amount of visits the whole time I've been visiting MKO
(since last December), that count would be into the thousands by now.

This thread is not at all about the males exposing more skin. It's entirely about having a gay, cross-dressing character in the game. And no one wants that except some gays. From what I've read here, a lot of them don't even want it.

The long and short of it is Queve doesn't understand the difference between what is considered sexy in women versus what is considered sexy in men. Women who have a certain body type who show a lot of skin and wear tight clothes that don't cover much are considered sexy, whereas men, not that I'm an expert in sexy men, can be considered sexy without doing that. The reason for this is the two groups are judged by their opposite. Men judge women, and theylike tight clothes, a lithe body and lots of exposed skin. Women (in general) on the other hand are attracted to... I'm not sure, but it's not that, not entirely that anyway. YES I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE SOME WOMEN WHO LIKE SCANTILY DRESSED MEN. I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU. I knew a girl who thought this guy: was the sexiest thing to walk the earth. She was only like 18, and she thought this shrivelled up old geezer with his bald head was hot. Proving that I know nothing about sexiness in men, I was, and still am, baffled by this. He sure as hell didn't look like Queve's "men" up there. What it proves though is that women have totally different thoughts than men about what is sexy, and "slutting-up" the men in this game to make them sexier betrays ignorance of that fact. I can't say I'm not happy about 218 posts and 9 pages of discussion, even if the thread got derailed for around 2 pages or so.
