Big old fan of Jade's UMK3 bun here, I hope that comes back. Leave the long dos for Kitana and Mileena.

I would really expect Jade to be pulling off a ton of skillful pole-twirling, kung-fu movie style. That thing should become a blur in fights.

And I'm sure her X-Ray moves are going to look painful as all hell with that staff. I anticipate a smash to the back of the head, a whack up the side of the head, or maybe a vicious thrust with a lot of buildup that takes out some ribs and organs.

In this storyline which features her in her MK2-MK3 appearance, she is an assassin who doesn't even know about the Edenian throne. Neither does Kitana until MK3.

I hope she dresses differently from Kitana and Mileena..... because diversity is a good thing, yes?

JADE is my absolute favorite and i really loved her costume in MK:D. They should keep that eastern indian look she has. Tweak her look a bit but to dress her up like Kitana would definitely be a bad idea. She doesnt need to be an outright villain either...Mileena already has that role filled but maybe the writers can somehow make her the happy medium between good and evil. Personally tho, i dont think they should make any changes to her personality. She's MYSTERIOUS already, they just need to shed more light on her motives, backstory and her friendship with the princess.

i would like more of a Leather Catsuit with some flowing banners or half skirt [covers back of legs only] and a Tight French Braid [like Seung Mi Na or Lara ], and her main weapon still be the bo Staff, but with small barbs on both ends and both come to point [giant barbed spike, i guess], i see Jade as more of an assassin than what Kitana would wear,

I would love to see her weapon a boomerang in MKD as her Hara-Kiri where she throw a boomerang and it came back and cleans her head off!!!!!!!!!! Maybe that should be her weapon as deadly edges or her staff.

However, I would hate it if she lost her staff and only had the Razor-Rang. It woldn't make sense either. And when remembering back to MK4 where Tanya had a boomerang as a weapon, I found it dreadful to use.

Since this also spans MK2 I would really love if they made reference to her using fans! even if its only in like a friendship or the entrance cinematic!

I wouldn't want Jade to have use of her brass fans. That would be a step back for her to when she was but a mere palette swap in MK2. She has developed into her own unique now and we do not need another fan-wielding character. Jade has her staff now and it fits her.

for some reason i prefer her razor bommarang beause its like kitana fan but the staff would overcrowd jade because its long and the rang is small that can cut like kitana. However either way if jade isnt confirm that would be a MK FAIL!!!!!! JADE IS MK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the razorrangs -gigglesnort- are good for projectiles but I wouldn't want them to become Jade's primary weapon.
The staff really sets her apart from Mileena and Kitana plus with the additional weapon it kind of portrays her as being more skilled or maybe having more training. I think it's a good thing lol.

I loved Jade's primary MKD costume and MKSM.Maybe they can pull off smth between these two costumes.The alternate outfit of MKD looks too childish for her,as someone here mentioned.But,with the looks of Mileena and Kitana in this game,I would say the majority will be pleased with the new look that they planned for Jade in MK9

As for story for her,I already posted that in other thread,but only Razor replied to it,and he was positive about it

So I always wondered,people,why is it Jade and Smoke in the background of Living Forest in MK2.I know that Smoke was helping Sub-Zero younger with the task and everything,but why then he ended up there? And what Jade was doing there? Did they meet each other during these events?

If I was MK team,I would develop some kind relationship(romance? hate? rivalry? whatever you choose) between Smoke and Jade during MK2 timeline,because it will add some depth to both of these characters,and besides,will involve some other characters too such as Kitana,the Lin Kuei etc.I am just tired to see both of them kinda "slaves" of Kitana and Sub-Zero brothers,let them have something on their own!!! And if Smoke is turned into cyborg (I hope not),I want to see the actions of Jade,her feelings about it and etc.,especially if she is on Shao Kahn's side during MK3 (before joining with Kitana against him).Who knows,maybe it is her,that will awake the soul inside the Cyborg Smoke,not Sub-Zero younger!

I know,I am big fan of this pairing,most of it due to MK2 Living Forest background appearences and Malibu comics book (I know it is non-canon),but I don't see any logical excuses WHY not to do it (it is reboot of MK 1-3,remember? anything can happen).As I said earlier,it will give both characters more character (Jade as one of Shao Kahn's assasin at that time and Smoke as Lin Kuei warrior,and the complexity of it is they are on different sides).

I don't see how wearing a leotard is "childish". The ox horns with the pigtails isn't a childish hairstyle either, but a rather traditional chinese hairstyle. Chun Li from Street Fighter and Pai Chan from Virtua Fighter have hairstyles alike, and they are grown up chinese women.

Well, they didn't look alike since MKD, other than their alternate outfits. However, their main outfits were rather different from one another, and I loved that.

And so far, I don't think Kitana's and Mileena's outfits in the upcoming MK look alike either. They differentiate enough to be unique from one another. The days of palette swaps are over and have been for a long time.

In the komics, if we consider the, canon, Jade and Smoke were like allies, they were always in the komics together, assassinating someone or doing something for Shao Khan stuff like that.









If you read the concept art info in the krypt, Mileena's costume in Mortal Kombat Deception was originally intended for Kitana, but during development they decided to not have Kitana playable in the game. Kitana should have gotten new costumes if she had still been in Deception, but they just kept her in her ugly MKDA costumes. I hate that purple one, Why did they make her costume purple?

That I am aware of, she even wore a blue version of Mileena's main outfit without the veil in some endings, however, she did NOT have it as playable. Facts are, since MKDA, the three Edenian assassins have had different looking outfits.

And also, why is it so bad that she had a purple costume? That you don't like the design, that's fair, and I agree on that she should have kept to the blue colour, because it has become her trademark colour. But I still found her MKDA main costume to be rather cool and befitting, even if it was purple.

I thought it looked much better blue, like when you played KitanavsKitana and it was blue, it looked much better. The purple just seemed random to me, was it supposed to symbolize something, or they were just like "lets make Kitana purple for shits and giggles"

In regards to Jade's fighting style, I think it should be very similar to Liu Kang's here. Very aggressive and powerful but acrobatic. I love when Robin Shou balances his weight on the stick and proceeds to kick from that stance. Looks EPIC. Skip to 4:20 for the staff fight. I have a feeling Jade's fighting style is going to be based very much on her kicking ability. Jade is probably going to be one of those players that might be able to be used effectively at a distance and her legs might give her that reach...hmmm.

You're black... but you don't see a problem when you declare that her African features don't fit/ she looks terrible? If you actually are black, you should look in the mirror bruh. I think the problem is a matter based on the fact that you have color/internal issues. It was never stated you think she's just an ugly woman, you just stated that as a black woman she's terrible as a whole but can be fixed by becoming white?? Sounds pretty messed up to me. Keep her as she is, she's gorgeous. EDIT: Beyond this, I won't respond to issues of color or race with Jade because it's like beating a dead horse.

I'll be fine with whatever look they give her as long as they don't fit her with heels... lol This may mean little compared to everything else, but i always hated how they made almost every female character in MKDA through MKA wear heels. Anyone else feel the same?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but with the exception of one game where she actually had a fan and in a crappy MK movie she's always been dark. What kind of background would make more sense for her to be white?? Are you trying to say that her skin color would look better with green? I don't get it. Please clarify for me.
