Of course, by Shang's Palace I meant the Soul Chamber. ;(

I combined the two in my head.

Ah ha...now it makes sense.

Yeah sure, those souls in the graveyard could be going to the Soul Chamber.

The reason i thought the soul chamber was underneath Shang Palace was because of the merging of the realms. Am i wrong?

I made one on page 15, and posted some images of Jade's stance, but I doubt many people are going to look back there.

God damn Sindel is fine.

Shao Kahn sure likes the booty.
Edit: It is absolutely the disabler, but consensus seems to be that it's his tag team assist move and he won't have it normally.

That's because it *is* the Disabler! wink This, however, intrigues me. What's going on here? Is he grabbing her with his TK, then bitchslapping her with it? Could this mean you can choose to do this instead of slamming them to the ground? I'm also wondering if he's controlling her movements explicitly (ie- with the d-pad)

Well first of all, Shang has had two different palaces in the games, which seems to be the cause of some confusion.

The one with the Soulnado from Deadly Alliance is not the same one on the island in MK1. The soulnado palace was not built until MKDA.

Anyway, the Soul Chamber stage is located in Shao Kahn's castle. None of the stages in MK3 are set on Shang's Island. They're all set in the city Kahn is invading. (Or in his castle which is in the city.)

As I pointed out before, all the tag assist moves in the game are just characters doing one of their enhanced specials.

Which means Noob will have the Disabler as a special move, but it's the upgraded version of something else and costs a block of super meter.
On a side note, I also love that swirling soul faces effect they added to Ermac's moves.

It's also possible the "normal" version is just watered-down- perhaps blockable, or perhaps it wears off after one hit?

True. The enhanced versions are never radically different from the base special, just bigger or more powerful or it shoots two things instead of one, so it stands to reason there's a nerfed Disabler as a regular move, and using super meter does the MKT version.

His new costume is HEAPS better than his terrible MKD/MKA costumes... they were shockingly bad...

I think the middle costume in this concept art:

...is the best costume he could've had.

Personally, I think Noob should have virtually no personality at all. He's a soulless shell, brought back as a demon from the Netherealm...

But how long could he be sustained as an interesting character if he was a soulless (virtuallly) no personality demon thingy? A couple games maybe but he'd get stale. There needs to be sommmmething.

Take for example the daleks or cybermen in Dr Who. They're both "emotionless soulless monsters" etc...... but even then they're still characterized with enough personality to make them interesting. Perhaps that tiny bit is all you want for Noob but imo, he'd be much more interesting if he was like an anti-Scorpion, in the sense that he's also from the netherealm, but it's treated him different, enhanced him as opposed to torturing him....

There's actually been quite a bit of Jax footage. Look on Youtube for his debut on GTTV or the MKasts.

Lovin' the classic Sub-Zero references.

MK1 Sub-Zero Stance vs MK9 Noob Stance

Similar hand position.

Blood brothers.

Classic slide.

Edit: Got a little impatient with the first screencap. Too lazy to fix it. :P

That Ermac looks so badass. What cool effects. The catch and throw is very nice.

I feel like the character they are showing now, especially in this footage, is lightyears beyond what we had seen in the past. Jax, Cyrax, and Kung Lao had some nice footage, but everything else has looked very rusty.

I am hoping that this latest footage is of the latest build because it is looking slick.

Noob looks fantastic, one of my favourite character reveals so far. Not impressed with most of the arenas though. The concepts are fine, but they all have the same ugly dull brown and red colours.

Oh my god.

Oh my sweet holy Jesus Allah Buddha.

I have had a RAGING HARDON for this video ALL DAMN DAY since it was released. I HATE fucking being under a goddamn magnifying glass at work. URGH.

This video is love.

Disabler whose execution is reminiscent of the ice blast from his living days.

Shadow slide, ditto.

Shadow throws.

Teleport slam.

Black hole.

Aerial shadow counter.

Whatever the fuck he did to Nightwolf and LAUGHED during it.

Are we SURE this fucker isn't a boss? I mean, CRIPES! He looks insanely overpowered. I almost don't care because of all the sheer unmitigated awesome I just saw. Some of those things have to be EX moves.

The outfit drawing on both his MKD mask and the concept that became Havik's? Excellence. The hood is perfect. The ribs on his sides. The allusions to death are unmistakable and sublime. The cold, arrogant laughter as Nightwolf gets an invisible beatdown, the total disconnection from his brother....oh my god.

Never before has a character been so utterly realized to their potential as what we're seeing here.

I have no further words. Flawless.

Intrigued by the Graveyard stage, and liking what I see for the most part. Seeing the dragon in the background means it's not too far off from the main city. It's almost a shame; I really liked the isolated creepy feel the original had. I cannot wait to hear the music for this version, I hope it's just as eerie.

Jade looks sweet. Her UMK3 alt may be all over her main, but she's still good looking by any stretch of the imagination. I was kind of hoping she'd have the bo staff out at all times, but retractable works well too.

I don't even consider the puke anything but a nice detail. I mean, the SFII cast was puking when hit way back when. This really isn't all that repulsive in a game where we've got people coming apart by their tendons and dragged groin-first over spinning razor hats. Whether it comes out of a mask or not is borderline nitpicking, and not worth my consideration.

Just...wow.

That would be a whole new level. I kinda doubt they'd go quite that far with it.

But still, my absolute favorite thing about this game so far has been how every special move's visual effects have been designed to fit the character's theme. Ermac teleports by breaking up into souls. Reptile throws a ball of slime, not energy. Noob's clones melt like ink/oil when they're done. Kitana's Square Wave is done by blowing herself around with a fan gust. Etc. I've never been more impressed with their strength of concept for each character.

No more of that shit like Dairou and Darrius's moves in Deception where it's like "Oh, umm...he shoots a fireball out of his leg. Why? What does it mean? Nothing, fuck it."
