I wouldn't really go out of my way to call him names. I appreciate the fact that he's passionate about what he likes. For the record, I wasn't offended by him simply stating his opinion, nor did I find it demeaning. People have different personalities. It's very, very rare that I take anything personally nowadays anyhow. He knows his MK.
Thinking about it, a slight retcon/adjustment where she also wears long gauntlets to hide nasty scars on her forearms from where blades were removed after creation wouldn't actually offend me all that much. It'd be an unnecessary detail, but wouldn't break my perception of the character. No real point to it though.

I'll stop correcting people when they stop being incorrect. That's just fuckin' science.
And people throw around the word "opinion" way too much every time I correct something they're wrong about or not understanding. An opinion is something that's up for anyone's interpretation. Not everything in the world is a personal interpretations related matter, though, and some very defensive people simply cannot understand that.
When I don't know something for sure, I fully admit it by using words that make it clear I'm guessing, like "maybe" and "probably" and "I think", and I do respect other theories and ideas from other posters, because I and they have the same amount of knowledge on the subject. When I'm dealing with facts, though? Facts are not opinions, they are absolutes. There is a right answer and a wrong answer.
Also, not everyone's opinion has equal value. Opinions have to be based in actual knowledge, you can't just bullshit your way through a matter without knowing the details, and expect not to get called to the carpet on it. You have to know what you are talking about to be worth listening to. That's just life, the internet should be no different from the real world in that matter.
Whether Mileena has Baraka blades or not is a true or false situation, you don't get to feel emotions about it, there is only the facts.
And yeah, I can be a jerk about telling people when they're wrong, but that's because not seeing people use their brains to think things through logically is very annoying and disappointing for me, and because I believe the best way to encourage people to use more common sense is to embarrass the fuck out of them when they don't. Make people feel stupid and they will try harder to not look stupid in the future. Being nice to people never taught anyone a lesson to try harder, it just coddles them.

If he could fix her, then why does she still have the teeth? How can she still be a failed clone if the failures can be changed? Why didn't they kill Kitana and replace her with Mileena like they planned?
The whole reason there IS a Mileena instead of two Kitanas, an evil one and a dead one, is because Mileena's flaws cannot be repaired.
Im not a fan of either of the artworks, Kitana's artwork looks horrible, her body, her face, her really small fan, all just look weird. Mileena's is not as bad.
The renders though are awesome.
Kitana's render with the two fans is just amazing, although the loin cloth should be much longer and more flowey and her earrings and tiara should be more obvious. And her costume would look better without the criss cross on her bust. Anyway, this is an awesome render the fans even appear metallic although Im not impressed with the design of the fans, they still look good in this picture, Overall, this is really the best Kitana has ever looked, she looks young, beautiful, regal, and deadly all at the same time, which I think is the look they have been trying to capture all along. I hope if she has an unmasked alternate that they design her face much better than they did in MKDA, they need to make Kitana look young and hot/beautiful. I also like how they show the texture/pattern material of the costumes. Also Hopefully they will be able to make Kitana's hair look like that in game.
Mileena's render is great too, the one thing I dont like about her costume is its so strappy, the bare area of her back should all the covered, like Jade's costume is, It would still be revealing, just more tasteful. I hope its just the awkward angle Mileena is standing in and not that she is just wearing a thong, her costume is already revealing enough, she shouldnt be wearing a thong too.
I really like Kitana and Mileena's hair length differences. I cannot wait to see Jade and Sindel's renders.

I'm just annoyed that people can't tell the difference between something literal and something symbolic. It's not like thinking is hard.
If she had been literally been born with blades, even if they chopped them off and mutilated her giant spiky Tarkatan forearms into human shaped ones (because Tarkatan arms have MORE than just the blades, they have huge flesh-holsters and the little spurs too), she'd have all kinds of scars and we've seen her bare arms in lots of games and they look perfectly normal, so...hey, if we're sitting on the cusp of a gigantic fucking retcon and her alt costume has mutilated skin on her forearms, fine, I will apologize in April. But the facts we have right now say she never had blades and it's just a visual metaphor.
There were lots of non-literal visual metaphors in the Scorpion and Sub-Zero bios too. It's a whole recurring thing with the art in this vignettes series. It's a little irritating because it is misleading people at times. But it wouldn't have been that big a deal if people didn't repeatedly act like she's suddenly going to have blades in this game and then get mad at me for trying to set them straight when I'm just stating the cold, hard science of the matter.

It's a ficticious video game guys, a video game! It's not like you're discussing the laws of physics, you are talking about a made up story, made up worlds and made up people. I love MK just as much as the rest of you, but there are more important things in life to take seriously than Visual Metaphors involving Mileena's arms. Chill the fuck out.
Personally, I like both Renders! They should keep Kitana's hair that Hazel colour because I think it really suits her, it compliments her outfit.

... NO!!! MORTAL KOMBAT IS LIFE ITSELF AND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD!!!!!
I agree, Kitana's hair should be brown instead of black. Too many characters in MK has black hair. I'm aware that most of the population on Earth has black hair, but most of these characters are from other worlds! One would think they at least had some more variety in hair colour.

Fair enough. I was never mad at you personally and I NEVER thought that she would actually have the blades in this game, I was aware from the start that it was just NRS showing her origin, whether she had the physical blades or not becomes irrelevant either way if she isn't going to have them in the game. Beating the proverbial dead horse from both sides.
Obviously, without the teeth she would just be Kitana. Mortal Kombat doesn't really have the best story design and never has because it's a fighting game. I think that this is the purpose of the reboot. To give it a more linear story so all of these misconceptions are put to bed.

While this is probably the best point made in the entire thread I still have to say that just because it's a video game doesn't really mean there can't be a serious conversation about it. Especially on a forum dedicated to it. Again, for the most part I agree with you, just playing a little devil's advocate.

Kitana looks amazing in the render and the artwork.
Mileena im still not overly fussed about, and she looks slightly contorted due to the semi-sideways pose, but the renders and artwork are generally still pretty damn good.

Am I the only one who's starting to think they're retconning Mileena being a clone of Kitana?
I mean, initially their only difference was the fact that Mileena had a Tarkatan face. Now, Mileena has a different eye color. As of the other day (with the release of the Mileena vignette), she has Tarkatan blades. And, as of today, she has an officially different hair color than her "sister."
Personally, I would like to see the two of them having the exact same hair color, eyes, and body – I think the only difference between Mileena and Kitana should be their outfits, the lower half of their faces, and their hair styles (not color). Either that, or the Mortal Kombat team should make a point of rewriting their respective histories to accommodate the fact that Mileena is clearly not a mutated clone of Kitana.

As you know, It’s a reboot , get ready for a whole mess of changes, that goes against the original ideas of the 2-D era for the sake of nostalgia. I dislike the changes myself, but I guess I have to take it, even though, I am against the whole "going back in time" changes reboot. errrr

I wouldn't like it if she had blades in game, but I can still understand if she was created with blades. And there's not a 100% percent chance that her arms would be covered in little spikes. She's also half Edenian, she probably only got certain aspects of the tarkatan physique. And Mileena *to my knowledge* is the only female tartakan to be revealed, so who's to say that the females have spiked arms? NRS hasn't. And she's had long gloves for most of the earlier games, she probably does have a scars.
