In all fairness they are freebies. Its not like you pay for the classic skins.

Hell, MK3 Sheeva, Stryker, Sindel would be easy to do because their costumes are slightly remixed versions of what they had, cant write that off.

Probably wont be MK2 Skarlet or MK1 or 2 Rain though.

Ithink they dropped the idea of making another costume for her for two reasons. Firstly, ppl complained of Mileena's no blood-splattered face model used to substitute for the generic one all the three females share in their UMK3 outfits, and the NRS did not want all the costumes have Tarkatan teeth underneath the mask for Kitana and Jade. Secondly, Mileena has 4 costumes already, which means that is too many.

Though I put the MK2 outfits before the UMK3 ones, I was really hoping to see them release some of the alts shown in my beloved MK art book (:*) :/

Really, I don't like the classic jade more than her new outfit, but that classic MK2 kitana is just SOOOO awesome!

The Ninjas will more than likely be the free ones while the more unique ones [Sonya, Liu Kang, etc] will probably be ones we have to pay for given their uniqueness.

Mileena will probably be a later release. Since the compatibility packs only come with 2 costumes.

Yeah these costumes are cool in principle, and Im all for classic stuff, but the 2011 Jade and Kitana look so awesome. Im not going to get either MK3 or MK2 costumes because Kitana and Jade look so much better in their 2011 attire.

Regarding their new MK2 costumes, they look great, but like someone already mentioned, their hair should be a little longer. Also, why do they keep making Jade's skin tone so much lighter?

Another thing, the first classic skins were Kitana, Mileena, Jade's MK3 costumes, and then the male ninjas got their MK2 costumes, will the male ninjas get their MK3 costumes?

im kind of glad that there are only those two, and no Mileena, because she has like 4 cotumes already so that would be unfair to other characters. Honestly id prefer MK3 Sonya costume. who knows we may still get it.

I....I dont really know what to say about them. They seem a bit boring to me, despite me loving the the MK2 outfit and wanting it from the get go. Maybe it's just it's translation into 3D that has me lostr but something about it is a little off to me.

Kitana's leotard is more of a periwinkle colour than her Royal Blue tone, which in certain arena lighting makes her looks quite dull in comparisson to her environment. It would be cool if her fans were palette swapped when in this outfit to become pure silver, with no blue decor between the blades. Likewise Jade looks like a caucasian woman with a tan and her outfit could do with being slightly brighter in tone with the green, as she was originally lime green when she debuted. Both would also benefit greatly from having longer, more volumous hair.

I'll get them considering they are free, but it just screams MK:A KAF to me. Even Smoke and Noob's models look like high res versions of the preset Ninja in KAF. It's nice to see NRS are making the effort with the ninjas but for me personally they are so far reminding me of the KAF system in MK:A.

I just hope these costumes finally brings them their classic fatalities... well... Kitana's at least. For Jade, she kinda already has hers... But it wouldn't hurt to see where she impales the opponent and shakes them until they explode. That was a harsh fatality right there!

Anyway, more nostalgia sure is great. I loved mk2 kitana to death, and mk2 ninka female costumes should've been expected since we got 2 male mk2 ninja costumes.

I feel like I;m going back in time to 1993, but, in a good way.

I'm not going to be negative about what we got, so, I'll leave the bible-sized rant for another time. However, I will say this:

I'll admit I was not excited and very disappointed when I read about their confirmation. Yes, I was aware that they were the most likely choices, but, it still doesn't make it suck any less that the fucking "ninjas" just keep getting all the extra special treatment there is (meanwhile, there's over 20 characters waiting in line for DLC content).

After all, there clearly are around 300 posts supporting the more unique, original, interesting, and popular retro looks for characters such as Sonya and MK3 unmasked Subby, so, it is very understandable for fans to feel underwhelmed and disappointed when getting this kind of stuff instead. Those 2 were the most popular in votes.

That being said: Kitana and Jade look fantastic!

Sure, the designs are very simple and might look a bit off at the beginning, but, I thin this is seriously the point! We are going back in time to 1993! Their costumes looked like this!

The Awesome:

1) The costumes and overall look are very faithful to the originals. They look good.

2) Their hair, although it should have been a little bit longer, is really pretty! I love the way it looks in the game and not just in the renders (about time).

3) The black make up in their eyes suits them really well.

4) Their renders look cool.

5) This will definitely be the other costume I'll be very happy to use for Kitana. Her MKU retro being the first. In all seriousness, I think Kitana is the one who greatly benefits from these DLC retros more than the rest of the characters.

The Ugly:

1) There is no continuity or faithfulness with Jade's skin color.

2) Kitana's steel fans should have been her original glorious MK2-MK3 steel fans.

3) What's with the weird hand poses in their renders?


Overall, I think they did a great job.

I'm not excited, at all, for the following DLC compatibility pack because it is surely going to be retro looks for the male ninjas.......again (and probably Mileena).

Making a trailer for klassic kostumes, really, there is no need for it. They fight the same, have the same moves and what not. The only good thing about that is seeing their retro victory pose, that's if they have one. The render is good enough, it say's everything.

First of all, that's what people do for promotion. It is actually quite necessary to show off how good these look if you want to "sell" (even if these are for free) what you are offering. They want people to download the compatibility packs, so, a video showing off the female ninjas has a much bigger impact than just 2 simple renders.

Second of all, even though you don't feel it is necessary, are you not happy we can get a cool trailer anyways? I'm not overexcited about having more ninja costumes, but, I'm still liking that trailer.
