I love Tira, because she is so psychotic and she has a really cool and unique weapon, and though she has a bubbly/happy side, it's all about "YAY, I'm going to mutilate you!", so I wouldn't count her amongst the rest you mentioned.

I do agree that Taki was a really awesome representation of the kunoichi and this girl will never reach her awesomeness. As many have mentioned before, she looks way too girly - I do like her style though as a fantasy kunoichi, but Taki's is alot better in all ways.

I liked Tira in 3 when she had the green and purple hair and outfit. The Harley Quinn ripoff look in 4 didn't do anything for me. Then again, I didn't even buy 4, the SC games got too repetitive for me.
Judging from that new blonde girl character...I'm glad I got out when I did. How do you even get a blonde ninja in a series that until now actually kinda paid attention to nationality?

I disagree with the comment that states that a kind-of regal "over-the-top anime look" would look ridiculous in Mortal Kombat.

Sure, I'm not a huge fan of some of the exaggerated armored costumes (or Ivy's boobs) in games like SC, however, some MK characters could absolutely benefit from those regal and stunning looks, and yes, it applies to the Edenian female group, indeed.

Regarding these skins: they are supposed to be exact copies of their 1993 costumes. I can see why most would prefer a few updates here and there and even adding Kitana's pretty design/detail-patterns of her fans into her suit, but, it then wouldn't be the MK2 costume, would it?

That's the point of these retros for the game that's starting all over from scratch.

I was honestly quite surprised with the little new addition they gave the MKU retros (that pin in their hair), but, something little like that doesn't really change the costume.

I like these Mk2 skins, it will definitely be my main Kitana costume, but, like others have said, there are more fun and creative retros when placed in comparison. I guess that's why those won't be for free. :-/

Regarding to the other page offtopic. Personally I think that that this is how they should look the female ninjas. Sexy and functional. Give it a bun and a mask, take of the face marks and turn it blue/purple/yellow/green and voila (sorry for the huge image, couldnt find a smaller one

@jaded, I like tira too. It's not that I dont like any of those chars, but taki filled a void in sc, and now that shes gone, they go and fill her slot with another cookie cutter anime girl. It would be like mk replacing johnny cage, or kano with another flavor of pallet swap ninja

@queve, I think a regal look, anime or otherwise, would be great for mk. I think theres tons of room for improvement in mks character designs. The japs at namco really have it down, this new kunoichi notwithstanding.

According to Shao Kahn, they must wear high/platform heels, natural DD's with wide rears and near plain visible in leotards/ near bikinis to be consider female Ninja Assassin's :P

I can't believe they're replacing Taki with that trash... Well, considering SC4 was a major disappointment, I shouldn't really be surprised. What's up with Setsuka (her design in SC3 was brilliant, hated her SC4 design), is she in?

but I couldn't help but notice that both Kitana and Jade
look *much* more like their actual MKII look as their P2 colors.
I like those much better.

Until MK2 Mileena shows up I'm content with Using MK2 Kitana and Mileena in her primary. They will always be sisters to me.
