Here it is...
Mokap is doing the mokap for the newest God of War promo, when he hits his head. He starts thinking he's Kratos and kills everyone on the set. He then joins the Mortal Kombat tournament, because he thinks Johnny Cage is actyally Zeus in disguise. Meanwhile, Meat is a janitor in the flesh pits of Shao Khan... Meat falls in love with Scarlet, but he realizes he doesn't have a chance. So he calls Quan Chi for Help. Quan Chi turns him into Freddy Krueger, because Freddy Krueger is the sexiest thing ever. Scarlet falls in love with him and they have six children. But then Hsu Hao comes back as a zombie and kills the children. So Freddy Krueger joins the tournament to avenge Marry, Zoe, Moe, Samantha, Cyrus and Lance.
THE END!

Man, I get that people take this game to a serious level, but seriously... all the hurt feelings discussing about guest characters makes me embarrassed a little to be this game's fan.

You honestly think the next game is really going to feature guest characters? I doubt it, because you know why? MK2011 is the first MK game, alone, to be featured on current generation systems. So, I'm going to safely assume that these guest characters was just a little present for us fans to appreciate.

But of course, my speculation of gifts in the MK universe is a person who's a butt kisser because they actually LIKED the guest characters both... No, no, no...

In the end, I wouldn't mind seeing guest characters in story mode, even if their universes can't even conflict one another, even if they wouldn't have a great, significant role. I don't mind it. I just hope that I'm not going to be mocked or get yelled at for expressing an opinion that's for guest characters like most people get.

The negative sentiments aren't about guest characters. It's about people who are posting purely with the intent of making people angry and derailing topics. Unknown265 is a cool guy. He's one of the last remaining people who contribute to the gameplay section, and God bless him for it. If you guys like guest characters, that's cool. I don't agree. I strongly don't agree. However, I see where you guys are coming from.

That is not the case with Shadow Preacher, though. Shadow Preacher is a troll. You don't even have to take my word for it.

This thread didn't have to be an argument, but Shadow Preacher wasn't going to miss an opportunity to tell MK purists they're stupid. If this was a Freddy forum, he'd probably be making fun of fans who didn't like "Dream Child."

It's pretty much the same argument every time guest characters are being discussed. That's how I look at it. I don't mind who likes who, who hates who or whatever... It's just tiring of seeing the same stuff over and over again when guest characters are being brought up into discussion.

Then don't read it. No one is making you read these threads or forcing you to reply to them. All you do is complain about it instead of contributing to the thread or to this forum overall. Make yourself useful at least.

BAHAHAHAHA..... Says the person who starts the arguments 100% of the time. Don't tell me what to do. It's a tiring thing to constantly read whenever Freddy gets discussed, you're immediately on the hate wagon stating things about how it's ridiculous anyone, and I do mean, anyone, who has the audacity to state, "They like Freddy." And if anyone deems to act like a troll, whether or not they intend on being one, stating that they want to see guest characters make a comeback just for the nerdrage, you're immediately the one to state they're being rude and just idiots. Which, luckily, that's the exact kind of response they're looking for and I can't seem to stop chuckling at while, while also hitting my forehead by remembering this is the same exact stuff repeated over and over.

And before you respond with the whole,
"I'm done arguing with you" speech like you normally do, how about you do me the favor in STOP READING MY DAMN POSTS THEN, if you don't like what I write. I was not responding to you, and sadly, I'm tired of always defending my case against you, when you feel like you need to point out issues.

As far as this thread, I want to see them apart of the story. It would not hurt. To me, it doesn't make sense to have that one character not be apart of anything. Even if it's just a "what if" story, a "joke" story or "DLC," it wouldn't hurt to give some characters an actual chance to see what would happen if two completely different universes could combine together. DC did it... I enjoyed it, but didn't at the same time.

I don't mind a bit of arguing, this is a discussion forum after all. ^^
But you become part of your own complaint by anticipating in a thread you do not want to exist. You just add to it then. But oh well, double standards and all...

Also, it is quite mature of you to go "No YOU ARE!" at me like that instead of reading through what I wrote and think about my point. I guess that is to expect too much from you though.

I get what you mean though, there are some topics that gets repeated over and over again with little period of time in between, and yes, it gets tiring. But the best thing would just to ignore them then, because it is not something any of us can control.

I'm glad to see that in between your rage fits, you actually took your time to answer on the topic of this thread. ^^

I'd like to know too. I'd like to know how all of a sudden, a post that was talking about all the non-stop bickering about an apparent troll post and how it's the same ol' same ol' later turned into a rant fest about who's allowed to tell other users what, even though nothing was particularly said to that specific user in the first place... and didn't need to write anything either.

How about you stop ranting about my post and get back on topic, since every single post except for one hasn't been on topic. It's just attacking users because you're butt hurt over something that was meant for a joke, and something that wasn't even directed to you and at you at all.

I would have kept that all to a PM, but the last time I remembered, all of them were going to be ignored and deleted as you stated. So, what else to do than to move everything I wanted to say into a public forum? So, either you leave me alone, or we handle whatever kind of issue through PM to spare the trouble of exposing it to the public. M'kay? Because you're really annoying me and have so for an entire year.

I thought that one post that people started assuming was meant to be a troll post was kinda funny. I mean, when he stated, "I want to see them come back for all the nerdrage" I giggled, because that is what would normally happen.

Unfortunately, people got too over emotional about that and needed to rant when really, it's not necessary, wasn't necessary, and completely stupid. And then more people get dragged into it.

I believe this site cannot handle talking about anything that includes Freddy. Kratos doesn't have this kind of treatment in his threads... Freddy has though. Which is sad, because I thought this character would have been interesting to see in story mode. How? Dream realm... I'd like to see that... Because he'd make a perfect contribution to what I have been referring about... Having a character in story mode that has no significant role... And since Freddy is accompanied by a dream... Hey, his story could have all of the characters in a dream-like realm and it wouldn't have any kind of an effect on them! Hey!

I don't know, it's just seems that people on here lately just take things a little too far and overreact over the smallest of things.

I mean at first I wasn't a fan of quest characters being in the game, but they slowly started growing on me. I just don't see the point in insulting others for their likes or dislikes even if this is a discussion forum.

I don't understand either why talking about guest characters always brings out the nasty in people.

I find guest characters to be interesting because I'd like to know how in the world they would become a MK character. When Freddy was still a rumor, I'd try picturing exactly how he'd work in this game. Finding that out when he was released, he was one of the most interesting characters I've played.

As well as one I use most frequently.

And ever since that announcement that Freddy is revealed to be the last character this game would receive, what happened didn't need to happen and sadly, that doesn't seem like it'll ever end whenever someone brings up Freddy or Kratos or any other guest character in discussion.

It's fine and dandy to have opinions. I get that and respect that. But as soon as you cross a specific line that doesn't need to be reached, it's no fun talking about them then. It's nothing but a bitter ass war a heck of a lot of users are done seeing pop up on here.

And indeed, that's exactly what did happen. Only Freddy and Kratos don't actually even have to be in story mode, because just talking about them being in story mode (and laughing about it) is enough to set these people off.

So if J-R, Temp User Name, and others were trying to prove me wrong in this thread on the nerdrage thing...they didn't do a very good job.

I love guest characters. I don't see how harmful they are. Or how they could be harmful in the first place. I think a "what if?" situation would be great. People just fly off the handle when guest characters are mentioned.

So sad really...

Sure, it takes time development, but as a curious kitten that I am, why shouldn't that development time go for a guest character?

I mean, I see the points on both sides of the argument, I just don't get how every spot in the roster is a definite reserved spot for a MK character.

Like who? Once Rain come out, the entire trilogy roster was represented in this game, and then some.

The guests are not taking away time from another feature, because they were an extra feature themselves. You could say they're took development time away from another EXTRA feature, but nothing that was promised of the game and then not delivered on. And even then, that's an incredibly sour way of looking at things, but I forget that I'm dealing with man-children here as often as not.

Furthermore, the roster was already set from word go. Nobody's roster was space was stolen. But go ahead, convince yourself that Drahmin and Nitara were shoe-ins for this game until those pesky guests showed up and ruined everything, if that makes you feel better.

If Freddy and Kratos weren't in, the roster would be exactly the same minus Freddy and Kratos. It would not be the rest of the MK9 roster plus Hsu Hao or whoever the fuck instead.

The question is whether it's ever good for a story to break the fourth wall. I think we can all agree movies like "Lawrence of Arabia" and "12 Monkeys" would be worse had they broken the fourth wall. For some movies, it's not that big of deal. For comedies, it can even make the film better.

For Mortal Kombat, breaking the fourth wall has atmospheric consequences that make the story worse, IMO. Think of it like this: you have a painting. The only thing on the canvas is a meadow and a tree. The portrait is atmospherically neutral. Now let's say I paint a black hooded figure standing in the meadow. The portrait is now atmospherically mysterious and maybe grim. Finally, let's say I paint Ryan Seacrest behind the shadowy figure doing bunny ears. The Portrait is now atmospherically silly.

It's the same principle here. When you add Freddy into the picture, MK's atmosphere alters for the worse.

Not hating. Just shedding light on my own perspective.
