It was a very good trailer, even though I'm not a big fan Kratos. I am disappointed that we didn't get to see a new MK character being revealed. But OMG that was an amazing trailer. The graphics looked so smooth and perfect, just imagine how the actual intro of the game is gonna look!...I am disappointed about Kratos but All this is just to get more attention. Kratos will be nothing but a bonus, so if you don't like him, just never pick him and that's it.

The trailer was good. I didn't imagine Scorpion fighting Sub in the netherrealm while Kahn was overseeing. I actually hope that's not how the fight goes down. As for Kratos... It was cool. I just don't wanna see him near the story mode. I'm playing this on PS3 so I'll get him. I do hope they use Fenix in the 360 version. I know it's not a popular suggestion but a fucking chainsaw on his gun would be great for MK. They don't have to make him overly big and bulky.

very mixed reaction to this.

i, like many others, didnt want a guest character in a game that was supposed to be going back to mk's roots. there are plenty of mk1-3 characters who, whilst i may not like them that much, actually have stories and important roles in the plots of these games. some of these characters may now not make the game. there are also lots of post mk3 characters i would have loved to have seen instead of a guest character.

on a more positive note , though:
the trailer was epic: until kratos showed up, i thought this would be the cutscene where scorpion killed sub-zero...? maybe. shao kahn looks fucking badass, and is it just me or is his voice deeper than we heard in the sound leaks??

meh, i guess this wont ruin the game for me, so long as it isnt all about kratos. hed better fucking not be on the cover of the game, or the main character on the title screen. basically, i dont want this to become "KRATOS!!!!! oh yeah, and mortal kombat".

still, if there had to be a guest character for publicity or whatever, i can think of no iconic video game character more suitable to mk than kratos. hes got the violence, brutalness, he kinda has some ready-made fatalities from the god of war series, there's tonnes of special moves he can do, he should be fun to play with.

and, as a ps3 owner, i shudder to think what lame-ass, totally unsuitable guest character xbox 360 owners might have to put up with...halo?

It won't be Master Chief... Bungie Highly guard their story aspect of their games and want nothing tarnishing it. That's why DOA didn't get Master Chief, but a "different" spartan.

The only person I could really think of would be Ryu Hayabusa, but Ninja Gaiden isn't exclusive to 360 any longer.
