Well, I am of the same race and ethnicity as my mum, yet my eye color is different. :)

Yeah, but were your eyes one color in 1995, the same color in 2006, but suddenly turned another color this year for no reason?

well ...most if not all the females got breast enlargements without explanation so perhaps Sheeva is just wearing contact lenses? grin

Considering they are resdesigning almost everyone. I don't see why its such a big deal that they changed Sheeva's eye color.

Why are Scorpion's eye colors white in his main costume, and orange with pupils in one of his alternates, on the same game?

Maybe they're saving her red eyes and black lipstick for her alternate costume?

Well that's the whole issue in summary, isn't it? WHY are they redesigning the physical features of characters who didn't need it?

Well since its something as small as her eye color I really would not dwell on it much.

It could merely be a case of the new artists saying "Hey....I think the red eyes don't look as nice, I'll change it up."

Obviously, I could be wrong. But I'm sure the change was just motivated by aesthetic purposes, and nothing more. Just looked better to them this way.

I'm a bit suspicious of these select screen photos of Smoke and Sheeva. No offense to those who brought em, I'm gonna have to wait and see if these are the real deal.

Sheeva looks intimidating as fuck, damn. She looks beast, and I love that they gave her gold hoop earrings. Adds that little touch.

She looks ferocious as well, she looks pissed off. Can't wait to see her entire model.

Her eyes look great as well. Pupilless wouldn't have looked good at all imo.

I have a friend whose eye color tends to change from blue to green and sometimes gray.

The nose and the cheek lines of MK3 Sheeva and somewhat MKA Sheeva are clearly those of the woman. Her face in the new model looks like Nathan Explosion.

That's a bad thing, btw. Sheeva fans seem to dig it, so I'm not going to push the issue.

Sheeva shouldn't look like too much like a woman or resemble a lot of women features (face wise).

I definitely don't dig the face but if they can get her proportions right then I'll be able to forgive the face. They've done well with Goro so I'm optimistic. They seemed to have learned that Armageddon's Shokan proportions were just flat-out wrong.

One thing to consider, is that the select screen isn't the best way to judge the model itself, not even just the face. We already mentioned this with Smoke, in that Johnny's select screen pic. does not look exactly like his face in-game. Sheeva could look more femanine in-game.

Anyways, I think she looks fine. I've never been a Sheeva fan, but she doesn't look terrible.

She has a much more feminine jaw now. I suppose it's somewhat of a tradeoff.

Of course this is all subjective as hell, but I respectfully disagree with you. She's ugly, sure--that's how she's supposed to be--but I don't think that equals looking like a man. And if it does, so be it.

Sheeva and Goro are monsters, and in MK9, neither of them really have faces that come close to approximating any human gender, IMO. I'm totally fine with that.

If Goro bleeds red, then she should too.

Never quite understood why she was given green blood when she's a Shokan and Goro bled red when he was in the games... She should have red, not green... Unless the rule has it where it's Rainbow Combat...

No, that's just MK fans being embarassingly anal as per usual.

There are still lots of "she looks transgender" / "she looks like a man" comments floating around, which means she probably doesn't look her best.

But like Blackcyborg said, select screen pics aren't best for gaging how they look - I'll wait for an ingame screen before deciding how I feel.
