But seriously I do think that people who pirate games are thieving sacks of shit. There's a reason the industry is having a hard time and those people are part of it. Just like idiots who call themselves music fans downloading all their albums online.

If you're a music fan, you support your favourite artists and the music industry as a whole, not steal peoples hard work, you cunt.
It's the same with games. People claim to be such huge fans of a series, then rip the games offline. Show some respect to the people who spend years of their time and skill making these things, and pay a few hours wages for it.

I've downloaded *many* an album so I could hear it early, but I literally *always* buy them when they come out. I firmly believe the artists should be paid for their work- and I'm a professional artist whose work *has been* pirated the world over. I don't take it the least bit personally- I know it's just a fact of modern life.
Wanting something early does not necessarily mean one is a thief.

Buying a copy of the game, and then downloading a free copy equates to buying a car and then going and stealing another one.

You're actually buying the rights of ownership, so an extra copy is *well within* the law.
With a car, you are buying a physical object.

just so you all know bands dont make much money off album sales there money is made in merch and touring. many bands nowadays say hey we dont care if u download are cd as long as u buy a ticket to see us live and maybe buy a t-shirt!

the gameing industry is completely differnt! everyone involved with making a game depends on the games sales to make a living.

It's unfortunate but I don't think it'll affect much in the long run, if this was on the handhelds there would be a cause for concern as piracy runs rampant there but I don't think piracy on the Xbox is as dominant. I do hope that if someone's gonna pirate it though that they can at least capture some gameplay footage, I'll avoid story mode videos and the ilk like the plague but I'd love to see more gameplay.

That's true predominately of bands who have either already made it big in the industry or are still in the premature stages of their career. The bands in the middle absolutely NEED album sales. Sure, the money they make off albums don't necessarily pay all their bills, but they need big sales numbers to do anything in the industry. Without significant sales, they're going to struggle landing opening gigs on larger tours, and venues are going to be less interested in booking them for headlining gigs.

It's not about money; it's about merit. People aren't inclined to pay bands big money to play their tour/venue if they haven't proven themselves in the market.

Have people actually seen this torrent? Someone I know was looking for it just to check it was real. He said:

That's a good point.
I was just talking about music, as I've never modded a system or pirated a console game. I won't lie and say the same about PC games, but that *was* a long time ago, and I've got a more developed sense of morality now.

As for MK9-
My stance on piracy is no different than it always is: it's theft and a shameful act.
I'm just saying that, on the off chance someone has the ability to play this torrent (which I do not) *and* they have already paid for the game (which I have), that its status as "piracy" is a bit questionable.

I never said that was a common scenario- just that it was a case where playing this torrent is not a big deal, IMO.
